My steak in the broiler was amazing! I made it at 4:00 though so that I’d have time or order pizza if I messed up so by 5 everything was eaten and cleaned up. It’s going to feel like forever before bedtime gets here. I have to keep them up until I pick up DD at 9.

SSDD over here, but two important things to note: 1.) I tried the cinnamon shortbread latte and it was delightful. Not overly sweet. 2.) my drunk NYE purchases are slowly rolling in, and I must say, drunk me had exceptionally good taste and style. What did you get? Lol. A black faux leather moto jacket, a grey faux suede moto jacket, jeggings, an of the shoulder green thermal, a silk sleep romper, and an outfit for C.

That’s smart, vino. The bar that is currently there is built in to the built ins so I don’t know if I could get around it. I’m going to check tomorrow when they wake up bc that’s exactly what I’d like.

I started to Marie Kondo-fold the baskets in Josie’s closets. I’ll do Charlie’s next.I do not like the fold. Too bulky. I much prefer a flatter fold, but it took no time so I figured I’d try it for a month. I’ve been folding our clothes that way for 6 months to a year and really like it. I can see everything that is available to wear, and things get used more evenly. I also organize things in rainbow order. I have to and I like it. A hates it with a passion.

I do want to do my linen closet, I like her idea of keeping linens sorted by bed/room sorted in labeled baskets. Right now mine are neat but just stacked. Same! I have baskets on my list for that idea— clever! The kids closets don’t have a lot of hanging space (only half of the double of the double doored closets; the rest are built ins that I use baskets— to keep it organized) I was thinking about adding a tension rod lower than the traditional bar for extra hanging space/then the kids could reach it to pick out clothes on their own more easily. We're adding a lower bar and shelf to the boys for this reason. They like to pick out their own clothes and can dress themselves so I'm putting everything in their reach. I'll put out of season stuff on the top bar.

Cs girlfriend made him a present at home for him. It was a grocery bag filled with different arts and crafts. Her mom must have helped her. It’s all really cute here’s the card that was with it. 😬 The teachers have confirmed there is no kissing.

Our grill was $$$$ - it’s fancy, lol - so not planning to replace anytime soon! Gotcha...ours was $300-$400 a few years ago, so I wouldn't have an issue replacing it when needed. I buy the 200 ones and replace every other year. Our big issue is the wind knocks it over. I really want to build my own permanent one. MHb will only grill if there is charcoal but I don't have time for that.

Both T and C are sleeping. I found someone to bring DD home. I want to crawl in bed myself.

That’s something wedding. I think it’s cute for little kids to say they have a bf/gf but I don’t know how much I’d be encouraging it.

Can I ask what the concerns are? ETA: I guess I see it as innocent unless there is actually a physical piece. Seems to be kind of like playing house.

Can I ask what the concerns are? Well, like that kissy time thing. It’s not that I’d discourage it necessarily. But if my daughter asked me to write that in a card to her “bf” I wouldn’t do it.

wedding I think it is great that there is a friendly relationship like that. I think we're all on the same page regarding the kissy time. In E's class during free drawing time the is one or two girls that are always giving E drawings. But nothing like that.

I've been folding my clothes KM style for a while and I do like being able to see stuff. Granted 80% is black/gray so I can hardly figure out what's what. I do not fold my underwear and socks her way, but prob should bc I have basically a sock laundry basket of sad lost socks.
Rant ahead - PDQ: A team member got promoted to manager a different team and his position is slightly higher up than mine...I applied for that job a few years ago and the then director kind of poo-pooed it and I withdrew. I'm not really in the mood to switch jobs, BUT my actual peer, who I trained and she took a lot of work off my plate says she's going to apply... And now my competitive edge comes out bc I will be salty if she gets it and a) I don't apply and don't have a chance b) we both apply and she gets it over me. Please note that I've been in this role for 6 years and she's been in it for 2, granted her previous 4 years have been internal. She's a go getter though and I'm more on the mommy-tracked side of motivation since our jobs are fairly laid back right now. I will get a read on my boss later this week, but I guess I have to apply. Yesterday I wasn't interested after last times experience, but I feel like I'll regret it. Regardless we are fairly close friends so it's super awkward.

Also someone sent me roses from FTD but there was no card in the envelope so o have no idea who they are from. My mom already got me flowers the day Max passed, Dh didn’t do it. Maybe my MIL but I would doubt it. I feel bad because I can’t thank anyone.

Maybe they were supposed to be anonymous, but if not I would want to be able to thank the sender.

Yeah I’m definitely side eyeing the message in that card. wedding Nope, I’m straight judging. Kissy time- I like it a lot? From a 5year old? Clutching all my pearls.

I'm cringing at the mom who allowed the "kissy time" thing. Yikes My mom's BFF has two (now grown) sons, and has said she was surprised at how some girls started getting very "aggressive" (her word) while they were still in elementary school. Calling the house at all hours trying to talk to her boys, asking them 'out', etc. At that point her boys were fairly oblivious to the opposite sex; as a mom she found it very annoying. Possible UO: We haven't seen anything like this yet, but as the resident geriatric, I do not look forward to the boy/girl-craziness, and I will not be encouraging of it personally.

Also 😲 about kissy time. If my kids take after mh and I, they are bound for a solid awkward stage to get them to mid-20s..

One of the first grade boys gave me a love letter, and I’ve seen them working on some for the girls in class. Dude has three girlfriends, apparently. All of them in second grade. I’m not sure how much I believe him, but I had two “boyfriends” at the same time in Kindergarten. No kissing, no hugging, not even handholding because boys had cooties.

Hey. No. I haven’t heard from HR about either position yet but i did hear from someone very high up in the District that told me the likelihood of them giving me the teaching salary step i should be on is slim to none. Womp womp. It’s all up in the air right now. I’m swamped at work trying to write a grant before i go on vacation next week and dealing with a bogus sexual harassment claim.

I had a bf in kindergarten. There was kissing involved. We broke up at his birthday party because he told his uncle about it and it was announced to the whole party that I was his gf and we had kissed. I refused to talk to him every again. Cadence avoids the kisser in her class, thankfully. We had a long talk that kisses are saved for Mommy and Daddy. Friends can have hugs and handshakes.
Although, she did announce the other day that she would be marrying her friend, J. They've known each other since she was 2 months old. She does not yet understand that he will be at a new school next year.
