Morning!
I think winter has officially set in here 🥶 it’s probably bad that I’m already tired of the cold and it’s only 1/9.
What’s on your agenda today?

I’m completely disillusioned into thinking spring is right around the corner. The gymnastics session that we just paid for ends at the end of March, we had to sign up for soccer and swim lessons for April , and I got an email this morning from the pool company asking what week we’d like to open. Clearly January and February will be a rude awakening for me.

It was in the 60s here this weekend, so I'm waiting for the bottom to fall out and winter to brutally return.
Nothing much here today...SSDD.

Yesterday it was 60 and we went to the park. Its 26 today...... I'm wanting to clean my car and move carseats around. Boys are asking to be in the middle row. I told them they could until the baby comes. Also need to invoice and go to the grocery.

Morning.
MH leaves this morning for about two weeks. He says he should get to come home the weekend of MLK holiday. And I’ve started to feel like I’m getting sick, because of course I am. 🙄 I’ll be doing all the things to keep it from going full blown cold.
It finally got chilly here, too. I hope it’s not staying.... I like the 60s.

lahdeedah I'm all about my H being out of town, but 2 weeks is a long time. Get yourself some Emergen C or something similar and I hope you don't get sick!

Morning. I’m in the same boat guster, I keep forgetting that we still have two months of winter to go!!! I had a meeting with dd pre-school teacher. I feel so guilty about sending her in my day off, but also secretly happy that I’ll have 3 hours all for myself. I haven’t this much time alone in 5 years I guess. What ever will I do with myself 😳.

I'm having dinner with a friend tonight. I had debated whether to pick up the kids like usual and get them fed, etc and then go to dinner vs just making MH do it all himself and I can do whatever until I meet her for dinner. He has gone out 2 nights in a row.
Guess which option won...

So sleep training couldn’t happen. C went to bed fine at 8 and woke up at 11:30. I went in intending to just rub his back but when I touched him, he was boiling. 102.6 fever so obviously I couldn’t ignore him all night. Gave Motrin but he was up basically twice every hour from them on. Even the dog who never gets up at night started pacing the hall. Going to the doctor at 10:30.

Morning! I'm sitting outside Theo's pre-school and it's freezing today. DNW. I know H is happy because it means the ice rink might finally freeze, but I was secretly happy to skip over winter this year.
Not much on the agenda today, just going to stay warm and work on some odds and ends. Need to fill out my January calendar and accept that we are actually back to our regularly scheduled life and vacation is over.

Morning. We also had a tease of spring over the weekend with temps in the 40s. This morning is -5 windchill. Brrrr! We’ve been lucky with a pretty mild winter, but i wanted it to stay that way.
We were shopping at the outlet mall and my mind wanted to by spring clothes! I did get the kids their spring jackets, but otherwise stuck to warmer things.

We signed n up for another session of gymnastics which starts tonight. She has dance from 5-6 and then a 20 minute drive to gymnastics from 6:30-7:15. It’s probably cramming too much in to one night, but she’s so exited about gymnastics. I had signed H up too, but they had to move his class to 6pm and that just wouldn’t work. So he’ll stay home with Dh.

He might be able to come home for a weekend or 2 during that time, but we won't know till last minute. I hate these long stretches.. I wish you were closer - we could help each other out!

kim22 LT for support...poor C! I hope he's feeling better soon. I hope the next couple weeks fly by lahdeedah . My H swears by Emergen-C; I tried it this fall before we went out west and did manage to fend off a cold, so maybe give that a whirl if you haven't already? jewels wow, that is quite the trip! I hope he'll be able to come home and break up the time a bit. DH is potentially going to Estonia & Germany for work for a couple weeks later this winter; not sure when he'll get final word on that. He also has a conference here in the states that will be the week before the potential Europe trip. I would love to go to Germany but recent bed purchase + needing a sitter for a week or more probably puts paid to that idea, lol. I wonder what 3 plane tix to FL would cost...

Morning. We're in a deep freeze as well. I walk two blocks from my bus to work and on Monday, about halfway I couldn't feel my legs, I knew that they were moving because I was advancing down the sidewalk, but it was like two icicles attached to my body. It is waaaay better today, but still cold.

flamingo, nothing can compare to 2016-2017. S had just turned 3 and B was a few months old and NOT SLEEPING AT ALL. MH left night of S birthday in November. Came home for 2 weekends in December, 24 hours for Christmas, about 14 hours for New Years Eve, left New Years Day morning till January 27. So basically he was home 5-6 days between November 25 and January 27, none of them in the last 4 weeks. Oh, and my maternity leave ended during that time so I had to go back to work. I figure if I can make it through that, I can make it through anything!! Like mwhip, I like a few days here and there when MH is gone. But these long stretches are rough. I don't know how you military wives do it!

hi ladies! I ignored yestetrday's thread because i couldn't handle the kinder registration talk. Mostly because we register in spring and time is just passing so quickly.
SD got accepted to a Big10 school! We are pretty excited that she got into the big school, she wasn't sure if she could. She has already decided to go to a small school where a majority of her HS classmates go and where she will room with her BFF. But MH and I secretly hope that one day she will switch to a bigger school where she is out of her small town mindset. Funny thing is that I got an email before she did. And as of last night she hadn't gotten the notice yet either.

I don't know how you military wives do it! Yes to the long stretches being rough; and honestly I think sometimes the coming-and-going can be even more difficult in certain ways, esp. with little kids who don't quite get it yet. My dad traveled a ton when we were young, and now that I'm a mom I have even more respect for my parents and esp. my mom. So don't sell yourself short I agree, a few days here and there is the ideal. We've been very fortunate to avoid long absences since we've had kids...it's mostly been his career timing and dumb luck (DH should have deployed right after Thanksgiving for 6 months, but fate intervened). The next biggie looms in fall of 2020, and I feel like we will all be in for a rude awakening. We'll have just moved back to FL, though, so at least I'll have my family nearby for back-up.
