Monday mishaps

Hi!

We managed to get X a haircut with no resulting hyperventilation or vomit, so that was good.

Pete and I also accomplished a good deal of purging and cleaning this weekend so I’m happy about that.

Everyone is back at school and had a hard time returning from vacation. Hoping the rest of our mornings are easier than today. My classes officially start this afternoon and Christmas stuff is back in storage so I’m feeling ready to tackle 2019.

Yep, I agree with this. The ILs are probably trying to avoid rocking the boat but if it gets bad enough that you're taking the kids home, I think (hope) they'd speak up. It's annoying that we (general 'we') so often feel the need to tiptoe around people like this.

Hello all.

The morning went smoothly with the kids, even though J went to sleep last night saying 'no see friends morning', she tottled off to her daycare room at drop off. Work has been pretty busy this morning, so right back into the swing of things i guess.

It’s a heatwave! It’s mid 40s right now. I just spent a good amount of time outside taking down some of the Christmas lights and cleaning up a few other things. I think that after the girls wake up from nap we might head over to the zoo to walk around.

Hello! This morning was brutal getting the boys up. It didn't help that I was in a rough mood from another night on the air mattress and DH being totally TV-focused lately. We have another counseling session tomorrow so at least we should be able to talk about it, but it's honestly one of those things we discuss everytime and it hasn't changed a bit. He equates it to me being on my phone, but I put my phone down plenty. The TV is ALWAYS on. Sigh... I just feel like things are slipping in the wrong direction and I'm tired of being blamed for it, especially since I seem to have a higher tolerance for things not being perfect anyway. It's exhausting.

Anyhow tgrimes I'm sorry about your BIL, he sounds like garbage. My Dad has his moments of saying very WTF things and honestly, I'm not entirely sad that once they move, my parents won't have much of a relationship with my kids. His views need to die with his generation, to be quite frank. I know they won't in general, but they sure will within my family.

Since DH thought he was traveling today, he had nothing booked at work so we went out and tried a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant nearby. I was drunk on Margaritas by 1pm while C ate a bowl of guacamole. Now C is asleep and DH is picking up the others since I can’t drive yet. I said I’d go with him to pick up but he said he didn’t trust the things I might say. Hopefully I will get it together in time for the 5pm hockey game.

She usually rolls her eyes, tells him to stop talking or just ignores him.  But I just don't see how/why she puts up with it.  

Would it be worth talking with her to try and see if she, too, would (should!) say something!

omg, 3 hours?! My attention span is not that long. I haven't watched in a couple seasons, have they changed anything to make it longer??

We are tuning into the national championship game tonight. I'm kind of sad to see the college football season come to an end, so this will be my last 'fix' for awhile.

Colton is the Bachelor this season. He’s about as exciting as watching paint dry. I’m out for watching this season.

Why does Dh take phone calls from work at night, in the living room? I’m annoyed you are getting called but more annoyed you are talking over my shows!

Work was rough today. Chaos with the shutdown and our finances running out. I have a crap ton of accounting to do by close of business Wednesday and I had to leave at 3:30 today for the psychiatrist. Luckily Dh can take C to karate tomorrow so I can stay late.


C is also pretty broken up about Max. It was our first night coming home to an empty house and he was so upset that no one was greeting him. I was too. I’m trying to get him to see some of the positives- he no longer needs to use a sippy cup to avoid the cat sticking his face in it. Trying to look on the bright side.

On a lighter note- C and his girlfriend are back together. Not the one who was kissing him and was overly touchy. This is the very first one who is lovely. She made him this huge picture of her house today and the teacher told me they were sitting close at lunch and she tousled his hair flirting.
