Basically, I think we should not be wasting time, money, and resources on potential swing voters and independents. Let’s elect a candidate that we can rally behind and make sure every single dem votes in 2020. I mean this shipped has sailed because the candidates in the best position to do this have left, but I’ve stood firm since the dust settled on 2016 that we needed to not worry about swing voters and focus on selecting a candidate that was going to bring net new voters to the polls. I just will never believe that someone who voted for T in 2016 is going to vote Dem in 20. The best we can hope is that they don’t vote. But young voters, voters of color, voters who have been disenfranchised are all up for grabs. |

For me, this one is easy, bc Trump has enacted policies that would literally take food out of the mouths of poor children and families. If you're pro-life, you're pro-life, and that means you strive to keep every human being on this planet safe and healthy and alive. Trump isn't pro-life. He is anti-bodily-autonomy. At best, he is pro-foetus. He is not pro-life. Ugh I agree but many who vote “pro life” are fine with those very anti life policies. I do have a friend who is a catholic democrat who is pro life but votes dem and supports family friendly policies. They exist! They absolutely do exist! And I welcome working with them when we agree! For example, we have plenty of members of clergy in our gun violence prevention coalition. |

I just continue to get more disheartened with this primary
I’m not excited or inspired any longer and knowing that quite honestly I could vote for a cactus in my state and it would not matter because voters in this state only care about the letter behind the name is just ugh.
We had such a dynamic starting field and now it’s just melted vanilla

Someone please talk to me about Bernie bros. They don’t seem to exist where I am and honestly much of my life is spent shuffling around in a minivan. They’re real? You’ve encountered them in the wild? Paint me a picture. If you are pro-Bernie, you probably haven’t been on the receiving end of their vitriol. I’ve only had one BB issue from someone I actually know, but it was unsettling. I had an acquaintance from high school who was extremely pro-Bernie in 2016. He started trolling my brother on Facebook after my brother expressed support for Hillary. It escalated to borderline cyber-stalking and harassment. After my brother blocked him on all SM, he moved on to harassing me because he had seen my pro-Hillary comments on other people’s walls. I blocked him quickly because I’d been warned ahead of time, but the whole thing absolutely sucked. |

No no, please don't let me derail you from posting! Despite my hissy fit above, I love debate and absolutely think different points of view are very important. I actually wish there were some conservatives who posted here for a really different point of view. I'm just venting today. I am in the weird place of being surrounded by conservatives. Like the flag I drive by daily that says Trump 2020: enough bullshit. Classy. Needless to say I love coming here! I am in Ohio, so I have lots of that too. A guy down the street from me had a "Hillary for prison" sign in his yard for much of 2016. Thankfully I have since moved. |
