WRT HRC I can not under any circumstances relive 2016. I can't do it. That election broke me. And 3 years later, I’m still not fixed. I also cannot go through that again. I love Hillary. Like genuinely adore her as if I knew her IRL. But she cannot run again. And I think she knows this. I don’t see her jumping into this race. I would bet money against it. I think she bides her time, endorses the nominee and then campaigns for them with the Obamas.

I haven’t felt this low since 2016. Coincidentally, I saw the news of Hillary’s defeat and Kamala dropping out both while nursing one of my baby girls. I remember looking at Baby G, who was just 9 months old and thinking, “What have we done, we have to do better.” And looking at L, now, we haven’t 😔😔😔

Is this a closed board open to people of only one mindset? I thought it was a discussion board on politics. I'd seen speculation on this board on why Harris dropped out and added another observation. Why is that objectionable? I apparently just can not read you bc your post felt very told-ya-so in a thread where people are literally crying over something that's personal to them. We know you don't like Kamala. Of course you can speak freely. But jumping in to a thread at the moment people have said they are actually crying and spewing some of the same nasty media coverage that helped bring us here is hurtful. To me. I love you, DC, but I don’t think greykitty was gloating at all. I’ve been reading the same analysis she mentioned for several weeks now. I love Kamala as a politician. I get the grief. But shutting her down for adding in some analysis to this political decision seems...counterproductive. I’ll admit, I’ve been trying to keep my heart a little cold about the candidates early this primary season to avoid this sort of heartbreak. I think there is going to be a lot more of it over the next few months.

I've transferred our monthly contribution from Kamala to Castro.
Just waiting for my "socially liberal, fiscally conservative" friend in GA to text me about this news.
He loves Bloomberg, of fucking course.

I’ve read a couple of rumors that Biden will tap Harris for VP. Interesting strategy for both... 🤷🏼♀️

I’m upset. I’m consoling myself by thinking that perhaps she might be picked for AG and then can be the one to prosecute Barr et al.

Though I preferred reading his Twitter feed over the actual debate last time round.

I have read from a number of sources (non extremely 100%) that Bloomberg’s campaign was targeting hers right from the jump. Which is you know, odd, since his campaign was supposed to be all about Warren and her wealth tax. 🤔 It actually makes sense strategically. If he can get the lower polling strong candidates out of the way, then he can focus on frontrunners.
If he had taken Warren out first, Harris might have benefited from those supporters who aren't all in for Bernie and want a more liberal leaning person/woman.
So basically he went for low hanging fruit first. And I have many many words in my head about this.
I'm fucking pissed about this. Elections CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT BE BOUGHT. This is supposed to be a fucking democracy, not whoever is the richest white bro gets to run, particularly at the expense of women and POC. *throws shit*

It’s the only way he would get my vote. I am way more sad about this than I thought I’d be Meant to vote the Biden picking her for VP post

In a bittersweet twist of fate, my signed Superheroes are Everywhere book was delivered today 😭. So while my kid will be upset, she’ll be happy to have her bedtime book back and we can continue talking about all the amazing stuff Kamala has accomplished.

corys response Cory Booker 5 mins ·
My dear friend @kamalaharris is a trailblazer. I've loved serving with her in the Senate and every moment we've run into one another on the trail. Her campaign broke barriers and did it with joy. Love you, sister.
The absolute class I see from Julian and Cory keeps me hopeful.

I’m still a little mad about him throwing shade at her over the justice conference but I do believe he is a good person and they have a strong relationship.

I have seen genuinely lovely supportive comments from several of Kamala's former competitors. It's something I love so much about this field--most of them realize they are ultimately on the same team.

I responded because dc2london is a friend who I respect and I thought she had mischaracterized greykitty’s post.

I don’t think Biden will select Kamala as a VP pick. I just don’t. the phrase 'not a chance in hell' comes to mind.
If I have to hazard a guess, IF he got the nom, he'll pick Pete. young vital white man.
