my FFFC- I read the obituaries daily. But, why? My director used to do that because she usually knew someone in them. You aren't there yet. <iframe width="31.519999999999982" height="4.840000000000003" style="position: absolute; width: 31.519999999999982px; height: 4.840000000000003px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_28080051" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="31.519999999999982" height="4.840000000000003" style="position: absolute; width: 31.52px; height: 4.84px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1508px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_39165958" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="31.519999999999982" height="4.840000000000003" style="position: absolute; width: 31.52px; height: 4.84px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 181px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_11205196" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="31.519999999999982" height="4.840000000000003" style="position: absolute; width: 31.52px; height: 4.84px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1508px; top: 181px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_61997286" scrolling="no"></iframe> see above

Probably why I watch as much as I do is because her teacher this years doesn't send any pictures, or give any information. When I get there to pick up Cadence the teacher is either heading out or already gone, so I rarely see her and can't ask about Cadence's behavior or anything of that nature. Obviously, if something major happens, then they will call me, but random timeouts don't get relayed to me unless I saw it or I'm able to catch her teacher in the evenings before she leaves.

I can't have a fitbit because I'd become too obsessive about it. Same thing goes for me and daycare cameras.

I also remember the Ximenta abuse issue and the grossness. I know she was likely a troll, but ignore and move on rather than say she's responsible for her own abuse. I can say though that I'm so glad we're out of that stage of craziness on the board. Not the dumb trolly posts, but the 1087 posts about feeding solids/breastfeeding/sleep training/etc. Boooooorrrrrrriiiiiinnnng. I get first time mom jitters. But damn those topics are boring. And I'm not bothered by the random question about that stuff here for those with babies, but multiple threads day in and day out about nothing but those kind of topics was painful. Although the amount of people struggling with the same thing and answering my unasked questions is why I lurked and joined. As first time parents without friends with kids or local family those threads got me through it all. I think it is the nature of so many changes so quickly during that period that means lots of posts. Like now we don't wonder if our kid needs to eat or have a diaper change or a nap. But duplicate threads area unnecessary

But nothing's going to change that I think those topics are insanely boring.

They were so boring, inthekitty. I did appreciate having this community and wedding and kellykinns were literal lifesavers, but it was every topic being beaten into the ground that was maddening. We don’t need seventeen questions a day about “how often should a baby poop?”

Hold please.

I also distinctly remember someone I liked and a very regular poster (hasn’t been active for at least a few years) once saying in a FFFC thread, “I’d rather my baby be hungry than ever give her a drop of formula.”

Did you have those boots that look like moon boots? I always thought those were cool. Lol. I did not. They're great to keep your ankles warm but the bottom of them collect dust and if you walk on the marley with them it makes that spot slippery. So I never bought them. I also didn't allow my girls to wear them unless they were sitting down or outside of the studio. A lot of the girls at nutcracker this year had them. It was a good year to have them since it was 43.

It was insane.

Complete with a note (or maybe verbal, but I think I remember her writing something?), that said something to the effect of “I can’t imagine how terrible it must feel to be unable to provide for your child.” IDK, maybe it’s just terrible to be around sanctimonious lactivist assholes who think giving a child tainted BM is a better option than formula? 😡

Oh Lordy. I remember the formula "debate" (otherwise known as shaming). So weird.
And yes, once the repetitive exclusive baby topics got down to a reasonable amount and we started discussing other things like what happened on The Walking Dead, rehashing about crazy 90s fashion trends, and confessing embarrassing celebrity crushes, I was much happier.

If I was ever to get back to a ballet class, I'd have to buy and wear this to cover up the atrocity that is now my body after kids.

So even though this relates to what you said in the other thread cagoldi , I'm going to put it here because I think it's more applicable to this conversation. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about, but there was another poster from ages back who also worked for an insurance company. I was frustrated dealing with crap related to insurance and said something about how insurance companies are soulless evil entities (not even that harsh, but that was the drift). Of course I meant the companies themselves as they exist to make a profit off people's illnesses and often deny reputable claims. I didn't mean the individuals who work for them and fight on behalf of the patients (think Mr. Incredible vs. the company he worked for in The Incredibles). She took offense so I apologized and recanted. I remember you even stepped in and basically concurred with me that the companies often suck. In a later FFFC I made it clear that I was definitely ashamed that I ended rear-facing car seat position earlier than I should have with my oldest. It was legal in my state to switch her when I did, my other board wasn't as active at that time, and the info about car seats wasn't all over the place like it was later when I had Cass. Others were nice about it, but she basically said there was plenty of info and I was irresponsible. I wrote her off as a sanctimommy bitch at that time. I know she was well-liked by many. She was a second-time mom and mentioned it all.the.time.

inthekitty I totally remember that insurance thread. I think she worked for a car insurance company anyway so IDK why she got so worked up about it. Like I specifically mentioned drug formularies and I don’t know why she would have any kind of informed opinion on it? But maybe I am wrong about what sort of insurance company she had worked for previously? No, my industry flat out should not exist. At all. Obviously, I didn’t think that eleven years ago when I started working for this company. And my job has never involved claims or any unethical dealings but I still see how the sausage is made. I can’t recall the car seat incident. But I’m not sure I can be objective since she and I had a major blowout fight.
