Well, H got his new car today. Finally the model he wanted in maroon. Hes like a 16 year old boy with his first car, hasnt left the garage since we got home. I told him to have the dealership put a big bow on it because its his Christmas and birthday present. I just saw you fb post. Love it! And I’m also relieved to see someone else is getting a car for Xmas. I pick up mine on 12/26!! |

We do a card exchange at work as well so I maybe have six from family and the rest are work and you guys. Most of the olds- Aunts, uncles,etc don’t do cards anymore. It seems only those with younger kids tend to send them. I have two non picture cards on my door.

That sucks ass lfig! I have a raise due to be in effect Christmas Eve. Kissing that goodbye for now. We have a couple of weeks of local funds to stay in business after that we are also essential so we go to work with no pay. Dh and I will be fine but I have a few coworkers that won’t be. Hopefully this gets resolved before we have to worry about it. |

My mom is currently pissed at me because I wont commit to Christmas plans for NEXT YEAR 😂 I literally JUST TODAY committed to this years Christmas plans. Although our plans were 100% dependent on the government shutdown since MH is considered essential. So we had to wait and see. So now that it is shutdown, all his leave that he had scheduled is canceled and he has to work...with no pay for now. That’s awful, I’m sorry. |

So I just realized that if I didn’t partake in the n13 card exchange we would have only gotten two cards this year. And those two cards were sent in response to ours. It makes me question if I should continue or not. I’m leaning towards still doing it because at least our relatives get some pictures of the kids. I 100% do Christmas cards for myself. Same. They make me happy. |

The crazy thing about govt shutdowns is I literally don’t remember them ever happening as much as they have the last few years. Maybe I just wasn’t paying as much attention before.

The crazy thing about govt shutdowns is I literally don’t remember them ever happening as much as they have the last few years. Maybe I just wasn’t paying as much attention before. Obama actually had a long one in 2013 that lasted a couple of weeks. Most presidents had one during their time. Trump is on #3. I was just reading that more than 800,000 government employees will either be furloughed or expected to work without pay. And this is only a partial shutdown because some agencies already got their funding for the year. |

A few people here and some IRL people I know got new cars this year and I’m so jealous! I really want mine, but I was focusing on paying off my student loan... which will be done by the end of next month- yay!- and just waiting my turn. I’m really bummed it won’t happen as soon as I thought it would. I’m trying to just talk myself into just being glad that I will be completely debt free and basking in it for a few months.

We put H down for an early nap at 11 and he actually fell asleep. This will make the day so much better! Ear infection question... if his ear is oozing and it’s bloody, is that normal infection or could that mean his ear drum ruptured? I scooped so much puss out of his ear yesterday and now it’s been draining bloody liquid. (Sorry if that’s gross, I was fascinated!) He has tubes right? If so, I believe it’s just a normal infection. I’d still call the ENT or pedi though. H has had infections where it’s like that. Normally the ENT sucks it out so the drops can get into the ear easier. If he doesn’t have tubes, it’s definitely ruptured. |
