Hi!

Sorry about all the rude people at Christmas. My sister is one that would always find a way to screw up Christmas, but we haven’t been talking for 3 years, so I haven’t had to deal with it. It’s quite sad, but I refuse to let her negativity have an impact on my life or family.

So A and I agreed to spend less than $50 on each other- because house. Mostly stockings but I also found him a few nice shirts. Well apparently they told him at work this week to scrap all the extra copper laying around and split the money between the whole crew evenly as a Christmas bonus. Each crew member got $300. He spent the whole thing on me!!! I spent $50!

I need to run out to get DH a present. I'm so annoyed because he's given me NOTHING to work with. I came up with the present from the boys but I have no ideas. He kept saying maybe a new ski helmet and that he'd get back to me but he never did. Now it's too late to order anything and I'm still clueless anyway. Not fun.

I bought him about $50 worth of stocking stuffers and little things, but that's it. And I have to go today because he's got us visiting his friends tomorrow. Grrrrr.

lfig how fun for the puppy, how old is it now? Sorry about the shutdown, so frustrating.

My sister's family is here and she's organizing up a storm. We are hosting dinner tonight and maybe will get out to do something festive tomorrow. Funny how I don't care that things aren't perfect for my mom's side of the family, but a bit anxious since my dad and SM are coming. Oh well, this is life.

Omg, still on the road...this has been the drive from hell. We’ve seen a total of six bad accidents and had to detour off 95 three times. It’s gorgeous out so no clue what’s going on. We are finally in FL so only about 45 min to go.

My friend is one of 4 siblings and there are 13 grandkids; they’ve always done the name-drawing thing and it makes perfect sense to me. Why that would bother your sister is beyond me.

Thanks, ladies. The more I think about it, I’m not sure if it was my sister who said something. She normally isn’t gossipy like that with her kids. My, SIL on the other hand, doesn’t filter herself around her kids. So maybe my niece heard something from SIL or one of my brother’s girls. Regardless, I’m still ticked.

Well, H got his new car today. Finally the model he wanted in maroon. Hes like a 16 year old boy with his first car, hasnt left the garage since we got home.

I told him to have the dealership put a big bow on it because its his Christmas and birthday present.

Thanks guys, it's nothing terrible. Everything is very civil and there are some issues on the table and out in the open. Just not exactly the warm togetherness I had envisioned for the holidays.

Oh my god. The Netherlands have discovered the goodness that is red velvet and are selling it in our supermarket for the holidays. I just had way to big of a piece. It’s a shame that the American version is still sooooo much better.

slenle I would be pissed too, but I probably wouldn't say anything about it unless I knew exactly who the culprit was. Your gift exchange suggestion was perfectly reasonable and anyone could have spoken up at any time if they preferred not to do things that way. I would chalk it up to childish, petty behavior and keep it moving.

Unless this is more problematic than just this one time....in that case, I say burn it down 😉

I have no idea. I know what shopping center he went to though. And they have this awesome store that sells things made by a village in Africa and all profits support them. So its s little pricey but really beautiful things. Hoping I got something from there lol. And theres a great pajama store there. I could go for some high end jammies 😁

MH took the kids all over for errands while I wrapped. I got all the wrapping done, showered and relaxed. He came home with vodka, gin, baileys, 12 bottles of wine and a Bota box. Drinking a G&T while the kids take a bath and then we are doing nachos for dinner...maybe he should have gotten margaritas too!

I would totally want to plan 364 days out but no one else would/will but I wouldn’t get mad at anyone else.
