I’m really annoyed... actually pissed.
As I mentioned before, we are finally drawing names for the 11 nieces and nephews this year. I’ve suggested it several times but this is the first year its happening.
N just told Dh..”daddy, did you know it’s your and moms fault that (all of the cousins) aren’t getting presents?
We asked her where she heard that and she said my niece told her. My niece is 8 and clearly didn’t know the reason we are drawing names so probably heard it from (I’m assuming) my sister. I’m sorry, but she has 4 kids and more money than she knows what to do with so 1. It’s impossible to buy her kids presents and they literally just sit in the closet for months still in the box and 2. She spends a fortune on presents for everyone and that’s just not something I can compete with.
Like... I don’t even know how to put a fake smile on my face today at Christmas. I want to say something but know it will ruin the day. Maybe I’ll wait till we’re walking out the door tonight so there’s no time to argue.

This Christmas is 💯x better than last year. Last year at this time, mh and I weren’t even speaking to each other (maybe some of you will remember that awful Xmas card my MIL sent out, where she pretended she was the mother of my kids). This year, I am full of the spirit. My dad is coming over to bake cookies w us today. I am “working from home”/using PTO on Mon and Wed and just looking forward to being w the family! Merry Christmas to all of you! Sadly, I am having your last year Christmas this year. What happened with the Xmas card? I’m sorry you’re having a bad year. It’s terrible - acting like a big happy family for the kids and then not even talking to your SO when the kids aren’t around. I hope you guys can resolve your issues. 🙁 Anyhow, my MIL had sent out an e-card that was a pic of her and my kids, no one else in the family. It bothered me bc 1. I don’t like my kids’ pic going out to God knows who. She is a realtor and has literally hundreds of ppl on her email listing. I bet she doesn’t even know who all the emails are. 2. It very much looked like she was trying to pose as the mother of my kids. Mh thought it was nbd. I just couldn’t let it go, using my kids for her real estate propaganda was a hard stop for me, so I confronted her. Mh blew his lid over that. |

Z’s party is today. We’ve been cleaning and getting things ready all day. I’m still sick but hoping i can have some wine with my friends later.

slenle that's just rude(of her, not you). Besides, all the kids are getting gifts, just not a shitton of them. Drawing names is the best way to do it when there are so many.

Hello. I took the 2 oldest to see The Grinch this morning. T didn’t want to come because he says grinches are scary. We used points we have earned so it cost me 64 cents to see it. We have nothing else we have to do today. I have to wrap gifts for the nephews and bake but that is all. I’m happy to stay in now, the movie theater is maybe 2 miles away and it took me 20 minutes to get home.

slenle That’s ridiculous and totally uncool to natter about it while the kids are around because clearly she is passing along the wrong message. I fully support saying something to her, she needs to know that you’re pissed.

Dh has a party tonight for a friend that turned 40. I just put the kids to bed, poured myself a glass of red wine and waiting on my sushi delivery. This is the life.

So Z has peed her pants 3 times today. She’s been potty trained since April and never pees her pants. It’s really odd. Do you think it could be a uti with no other symptoms? I don’t know if I’m going to have time to take her to urgent care today. Her party is starting in 3 hours and MH is putting her for a nap now.

We’ve had our fair share to unfortunately... without going into it, I’ll be glad if Christmas with the in laws is over and no-one will be mad because we want to enjoy and be considerate of our kids 😕. |

snoopmommymom if ds is really exited or really preoccupied he can still have accidents, sometimes a few a day. Like his mind is to busy to realise he needs to pee.

But she’s never had an accident, let alone 3 in one day. I’m sure there have been other times in the past 8 months that she was excited and it didn’t result in her peeing herself. This is strange. |

It has gotten to the point that it’s hard to find stuff to buy for my nieces and nephews plus we don’t have a lot of extra money so we have tried doing the white elephant thing. When I was a kid only one of my aunts (out of 9) ever got us presents, so I’m kind of to the point of not wanting to do it anymore. I want it to be something I’m happy/excited to do, not obligated. Sorry about the side rant. |

snoopmommymom, if she isn’t in pain I would selfishly try to hold off on taking her in until after the party. I agree with trtlcrzy about constipation. That’s what they suggested when we took N in last month.

We put H down for an early nap at 11 and he actually fell asleep. This will make the day so much better!
Ear infection question... if his ear is oozing and it’s bloody, is that normal infection or could that mean his ear drum ruptured? I scooped so much puss out of his ear yesterday and now it’s been draining bloody liquid. (Sorry if that’s gross, I was fascinated!)

snoopmommymom I'd wait it out until the party is over. If you have cranberry juice I'd give her some. With my kids random accidents have always come in waves. Nothing for months then 2 or 3 in a row. I think they become nervous about it which leads to more accidents. Plus with the excitement of the holidays and her birthday it may just be a bit overwhelming. P.S. got your card the other day. She is so beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen a child with prettier hair.

slenle I'd be pissed too. That's so shitty. For most people with that many kids to buy for you couldn't even get much more than a book or coloring book and crayons. As a parent I'd rather my child get fewer 1 quality gift than several small little things. Never mind that it's the holidays and just be grateful for anything. Even on the rich side of my family growing up we drew names.

snoopmommymom is she just too distracted by all the party prep to stop and go? Maybe just remind her every hour or so to stop what she is doing and try to potty.

Going to see Mary Poppins which I'm very excited about. Probably visit my grandma afterward. I have a feeling it'll be her last Christmas. :/ Baking tonight.

snoopmommymom, Lue just went through this. All of a sudden she just started having multiple accidents a day. She wasn't distracted, just didn't go. It was so so weird. It lasted a week or so before she got back on track. I don't think there was a medical reason for it.
