How heartbreaking, kim22. I think your list sounds great, that’s very sweet of you to put something together.

kim22 that’s awful. Maybe a gift card for a local restaurant that delivers to the hospital for them? I’m sure everything will be appreciated

kim22, how horrible. Your gift sounds like a nice one, maybe just letting her know you are available to help out with whatever she needs would be helpful.

M failed his hearing screening on the right side. His right ear is bulging with fluid and the ear drum is caved in. We have to go to an audiologist for a true hearing test. After that we see an ENT for recommendation. Shes assuming they'll put a tube in the right ear to drain the fluid. And then retest in a month or so. If that fixes it, great. If not we'll get further evaluation for hearing loss.

I'm here. Just had our team lunch out and white gift exchange. I stopped at CVS and got a giant bag of peanut m&Ms and another box of chocolates with a friend. I got scattegories, which I'm pleased with and think j will enjoy. We have some much to do at night to prep for guests, I'm a bit overwhelmed. Hoping I'm productive tonight🤞

kim22 oh man, that's super sad. The notebook and a pen is a great idea. Someone gave us a clear thing to put business cards in too that was helpful for keeping track of the different doctors and specialists that came in. Blerg, I'm sad for them.

kim22 Your poor friend. That's devastating. You already have great ideas. I like flamingo's suggestions of dry shampoo & cleansing face cloths. Johnson & Johnson makes some body cleansing cloths, too, I believe.

I’m sorry about the news at your visit today, peachsmama. Hoping you get answers soon and the hearing loss isn’t too extensive. Those are thoughtful offers for your friend, kim22. I agree with jewels that I would think about getting some gift cards to local restaurants. I’m sure she really appreciates your support.

That’s so hard kim22. I hope chemo goes well and he goes into remission soon. Sorry the test didn’t go well peachsmamaI just heard back from MIL. She has 40% blockage so they didn’t put in a stent or anything.

FX everything looks good with MIL, trtlcrzy. inthekitty Husbands actually don’t know how to read clocks, I’m convinced of that. Lol, not MH! He's ALWAYS late, his whole family is. They call it Romo (Romanian) time. He took C to school for me when I wasn't feeling well and left our house at 8:04. School starts at 8. I manage to do it with all 3 kids, but I run early in life. I'm sure C is late wed-fri when MH takes him.

Oh how sad for them, kim22. I love your suggestions. Not nearly the same but when were in for 5 weeks with A my friends gifted me the softest pants and hoodie. Another friend did nice lotion, dry shampoo, travel shampoo/conditioner, chapstick. All of these were amazing. MH bought me a pair of hard sole moccasins which was the best. Comfy to wear in the room or around the hospital, easy to slip on and off. Protected me from the nasty floor! Also love the notebook/pen idea. I had my mom bring me one with a folder to keep misc papers. So random but if you're delivering the care package, deliver it in a reusable shopping/tote type bag. I used so many of those for laundry, my toiletry stuff, snacks, ect. Helped stay organized

I ordered some stuff from H&M last week, including a pair of dress shoes for H. I wanted her to wear them for her Christmas program tomorrow morning but it’s not going to be here in time She will still wear them with her Christmas dress.

Such a weird day at work. Glad it’s over. Have to pick up some snacks to send with the kids tomorrow and pick M2 up.
I think I have anxiety about them going without me. Last night I was legit thinking of all the bad things that could happen while I wasn’t around. I think it may be the distance they will be traveling that has me anxious. Anyone else experience this feeling? I’ve been dreaming about time alone, so it was unexpected to say the least.

I have his awful muscle pain right upper arm. Like I got an injection there or just worked out with one arm. Motrin’s not touching it. I’m going to slather on some bio freeze and hope it stops hurting.

How long are they gone?

It got especially worse once the hurricane hit. But before I even knew it was coming I was freaking out about MH taking cate of both kids. What if xyz happens, what would he do? I think this is pretty normal. Hopefully you’ll be able to relax and enjoy your few days of peace and quiet. You definitely deserve it.

lahdeedah I missed it- where are they going? As to the rest, I haven’t spent any significant time away from them, but I would imagine I’d be feeling the same way. Excitement mixed with the anxiety of it not all going the way I want it to. But I’m sure they’ll be fine, and you’ll get some much needed relaxation!

How long are they gone? They are heading two states away tomorrow- about 6.5 hours- and I will drive down after work Friday night, so only two nights, three days before I make it. I just want them to make it there safe and for them to not go outside while I’m there. Lol.

lahdeedah I was the same way the first few times away from C. Now I’m practically kicking them out the door. They rarely go away just the two of them but my in laws take C for a few days in the summer. Do what you need to do to prepare to calm your anxiety and let it go. I usually make a list of what to pack including snacks, any other instructions like “needs bath tomorrow”. I pack ibuprofen too just in case. I drive Dh nuts but he just rolls his eyes and moves on. The first time I spent most of the day kind of lost, pacing around. Now I lean into it fully. Enjoy!!

Thanks for all the bday wishes. Yes, tallb, my snapped out of his funk a few days ago and made a lot of effort for my bday. He ordered a cake, sent me flowers, cards from him and the kids, etc. it’s been nice. I needed that from him. He’s out picking up sushi and tomorrow we will get a babysitter and head out to dinner in the city. I took today off and finished up all my Christmas shopping. It was mostly gift cards and things but i feel much better now that i mailed the last few things out to distant family members and have the teacher gifts ready. The last thing i need is to buy some DD gift cards for the 6 people on my team at work and write them a personal note. Hopefully i can do that tomorrow. We are having a few families over for dinner on Saturday for Z’s bday. It’s Peppa Pig themed. I ordered the cake and bought every Peppa Pig party decoration from target. Now i need to finalize the menu. I was going to make the pigs in a blanket. I bought the hillshire farms minis that flamingo recommended and two cans of the crescent sheet. Any do’s and don’ts with making them?
