I also feel like my kid needs to be out of a crib when we want to potty train, right? I feel like he should be able to get up and go to the bathroom or get me MOTN when he has to go. No? No. You usually day train before you night train. M still doesn't wake up dry most mornings.

Cheshie6 What's considered early to you? I always thought 2 was early. But from what I saw were parents who HAD to push for right after turning 2 for "specialty" daycare had the regressions at 3-4. Whereas the families that kind of did it at the child's pace or just didn't have that pressure seemed to have less accidents and other issues. My pool of observation is less than 10... like 8-9 families. The motivation to do it was different and really high stress. Like if my kid isn't in this daycare with this teacher, they won't get into the right elementary school class, then Ivy League is out the window!?! Kind of pressure. That's interesting because most of the time I hear regressions are due to major life changes like a new sibling, moving, etc. Out of my sister's 4 kids, the only one that regressed was the last one and it was only at night. Once she started preschool she was exhausted and she didnt' wake up at night when if she needed to go.

Re: potty training Like everything, every kid is different, I started showing and offering the toilet to B last April, we nonchalantly would go and sometimes he'd pee and others he'd yell at me. Then Sept long weekend we did the potty watch for 3 days and he was fully trained. One accident at daycare the following Thursday and zero since.
Two weeks after that he was night trained, ditched the pull ups and he hasn't had any accidents in bed. He went to a twin bed last June and woke up maybe twice to go during the night.
