I'm so excited! My dad works about 5 mins from my office and a few times each summer we get together for lunch. The last few times he's ordered jimmy johns and brought snacks from home for us to eat. It was cute because he had granola bars and fruit cups! We just usually hang out on the roof of his building and eat by their pool. Today we're walking over to the food trucks and eating our lunch there. This means my dad will have drinks and snacks and will buy me lunch too!

E turned 2 just a few weeks ago and we've been hit multiple times with the, "did you start potty training yet?" Seriously, only in the past week has he woken up in the morning dry. We've been asking him if he wants to sit on his potty and all I get is, "no mom". Alight then, I'll try asking again tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk We talked about this a lot on N13. Back in the day, people potty trained earlier. My sister had all 4 of hers potty trained as soon as they turned 2. Whatevs. Lots of potty training happening over on my other BMB. E is showing zero interest so for now I'm doing nothing to change that. One day we will live the diaper free lifestyle! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NOT PIE!!! But there's also Indian and this bistro place on the menu. I'm thinking fried chicken with mac and cheese or a BLT.

tjanca22 That's so fun! Hope you enjoy lunch. My dad works for the same company as me but works at a plant instead of the headquarters. He comes here once in a while though and I love when he stops by to visit.

The thing about potty training, is it makes everything easier in the long run but for the short term it absolutely sucks lol. I have had no rush to do it. The immediate stuck in the house, constant drop everything and spend way to much time in the bathroom, then you move on to public bathrooms, sitting down to lunch with 2 kids by your self then dragging everyone to the bathroom to go potty and pray your food is there when you return, THEN it gets to the point where you take toad trips and have to stop allllll the time for a bathroom break. Yeah I was avoiding it buuuut we have now stuck our hands in our diaper several days in a row because she pooped so I felt it might be time. Add in the insanity that is the next several months it was do it now or several months down the road. Fwiw she will be 2.5 in almost exactly in one month.

jubilantsquirrel I'm guessing the sister doesn't have any kids. Also, how would your friend feel about kids? I know some people that would be a bit put off but if the friend is all about kids (as most people are!!?!), then I would bring ds2 anyway. Re: potty training. We've been talking it up for months once DS is a "big boy of 3 yrs old". He still is not interested but we are planning on diving in over the long wknd in July. If he doesn't take to it, were going to try again over our long wknd in august.

Do I need to post my Ed pic over there? Let me know. It seems to be equal parts Ed love and Ed hate. But any Ed thread needs your Ed pic contributed to it. Ed.

I held a newborn baby today! It's hard for me to remember O ever being like that even though it was only 7 months ago. Feels like a lifetime ago to me.

So for my shower, I didn't care about having kids there but our location had limited seating and we were pretty much at the max already so we had to tell a couple people no (two of them had 6 kids altogether that would have required somewhere to sit). I felt really bad about it though. A couple cousins brought their kids but didn't ask so not like we had a choice there. It's harder when they're old enough to need somewhere to sit, but babies are NBD IMO.

hangry, correct, the sister doesn't have kids. And I really hope my friend isn't put off by kids since she's currently pregnant with one! But for real, she does loves kids. I totally get saying no to older kids, but babies don't require any extra effort from the host. I did think about just showing up with him anyway, but I feel weird about it.

Hi friends!
Sorry to be MIA today, the time has gotten away from me.
Team babies-are-ok-at-baby-showers. I was recently invited to a sprinkle and guests were invited to bring their babies and daughters, too, which was super cute. They had a tea party for the little girls with a craft.
I haven't accomplished much today, except changed 3 of the foulest smelling diapers ever. C hadn't pooped in probably about a week, but has made up for lost time today. She is always so cheerful and peppy after a good poop, and meanwhile I'm trying not to gag and am looking for a hazmat suit.
