Yes. Yesterday when we were informed though we all agreed we'd rather have comp time for another day off. After taxes one day of extra pay won't amount to much but it's better than nothing. 🤷‍♀️

snoopmommymom, sorry it's been rough. I know the feeling of the kids making you crazy and counting the days till you have some backup.

+ 2 (3?) to not doing as much with #2 as #1. S was in all sorts of classes from a very young age and B has never taken a regular class. It's just much harder. Plus I have a little "friend" group I've made of the parents of S friends so we do stuff with them most weekends. I don't know a single parent from B's class.

I am a very good gift giver. But what I have so far for my husband is pathetic bc we don’t need anything.
So far, wool socks and a hot sauce challenge kit.

MH makes a Mamwhich type sloppy Joe from scratch that we never eat as a sandwich. Usually over egg noodles or over a baked potato. We all love it, esp B who eats more than a grown man. We call it "Mikewhich" (MH name is obviously Mike)

@snoopmoomymom I agree that it must be a phase with the kids. Dude vacillates between angel and demon every five minutes. And the tears! The drama right now is really next level. I'm finally at work. The ENT suctioned out H's nose & ears and sent cultures off to the lab. We start drops again in both ears for 10 days. If I haven't heard back from the ENT by Friday and H isn't any better, I fill the prescription for bactrim and start that, too.

Traffic was a fucking nightmare. It's always bad but usually not that bad. Then I felt really stupid when I remembered the funeral is today and I'm close to the church.

Today was trash day and we got rid of so many boxes! I had intended to post them for free, but mh ripped some open and I needed the clutter gone🙌

I thought traffic would be awful today but with the fed closed, it wasn't too bad. I did drive by the cathedral last night and saw the media and barricades setup. I prob should avoid that tonight when they disassemble.

My sis texted and her h booked a hotel room in NYC after Xmas and she wants us to go with my mom for the night. Mh thinks he can figure out the kids(he doesn't have off), so we may be able to pull this off! The last time the 3 of us have done anything was our extended hospital stay, so it's overdue.

Re: 5 y.o.'s being 5, B has had some moments lately...the 'not listening' is a biggie. We had gotten away from our 3-strikes/john rosemond system but went back to it and I think he's back on the wagon (mostly) now. I've definitely seen a bit more attitude lately, and that gets nipped in the bud very quickly. DNW a sassy kid. I do think it's the age and testing to see what they can get away with, and kind of trying different personalities and language they've seen on TV or heard at school, etc.

snoopmommymom I don't really have a dollar amount I stick to but I try to keep things "even" for both kids appearance-wise. B's list is surprisingly modest, he asked for a couple Jurassic World things (one of which he got yesterday from my SIL) and an $8 Nerf gun, lol. I try to surprise them with some bigger things from Santa, and mH and I do want/need/wear/read with the gifts we give. We don't buy many toys throughout the year so Christmas and birthdays are their big occasions to get that kind of thing.

Yes.  They're having extra activities at their church here and shutting down streets.  You can't even get to their church directly.  You have to drive to the baptist church, go through security and then take a bus over there.

MH is off teaching a course this week and said he gets double pay today for the holiday
