So, normally I just run my holiday card envelopes through my printer to address them but per N13's rec, I looked at Walgreens same day return labels to save me time printing one side. It looked like they charge .22 PER LABEL, so it was going be over $20 for some subpar labels. No thx. So then, I thought...I still have time to do a stamp (also, rec'd by N13). I will make it quick and easy by not designing myself, and instead picking a pre-made design. Omg. Cue spiral on designs. Then cue obsession over how the label should read...not too formal, not too casual. We have more than one last name in our family, so no "The "X" Family". Plus, everyone on his side has the same last name, so we have to personalize it some how. So, like...just an initial? H and my first names? We are a modern couple, so my name can come first, right? Do I spell his name out or use his shortened name? I started this morning over coffee, and when I looked up it was 5 minutes until Evie's bus was supposed to arrive at noon and she had not eaten lunch yet. I blame you all for her granola bar "lunch" and the 3 hours of my life that I lost. I had to start a poll and make n13 decide when I bought mine..

We just got a new address stamp as a gift from our lender..it's kind of basic but totally will work and prevents me having to spiral trying to pick a new one. Total score.

Have you guys dealt with headaches in your kids? H has been saying her head hurts and “I can feel my heartbeat in my head”. I gave her Tylenol and sent her to bed. This has been going on for a couple days.

E loved the Nutcracker last night! The seats were perfectly close and he sat in the center aisle and could see everything. Our dinner was a disaster because the earlier show let out at the same time as people for the 2nd show. I hope I can make this a tradition for us.

Phew, just tore around the house searching for my little bag of gift cards.. easily hundreds with random returns and gifts. Found it finally in mh's backpack with a mug full of pens. His approach to packing was not exactly methodical 🙄. And in his "important document suitcase" had our will, passports, a curious George book, and a tiger woods coffee table book my dad gave us and he feels guilty getting rid of.

Could you get one that says “the Smith Anderson family” or something like that? That would be inclusive of all your last names. Choosing is so hard when they have so many options. I will say that I’m super glad I got a self inking stamper and not one that I have to use an ink pad with.

This has been going on for a couple days. Not in my own kids, but I can remember getting them starting at age 7. Definitely tell her pedi and keep a good record. I went through hell with mine until I was old enough to just stop and manage them myself.

I seriously blocked out how much the 1st trimester knocks me on my ass. I'm useless. Everything I eat turns on me and I'm so weak and tired constantly.

This has been going on for a couple days. We have been dealing with migraines for DD since she was 4. The first time she had one was so scary I called 911. She had been at school all day and was fine. Came home was was on the couch watching tv and started screaming and throwing up and I couldn’t touch her anywhere without her freaking out. I called the ped and they told me to go to the ER. I couldn’t get her to the car so I called. It’s really hard to get an official migraine diagnosis for a child. She gets headaches very suddenly, throws up, then falls asleep and usually wakes up fine. We know dehydration is a trigger so I never tell her no to a drink. Change of seasons also seems to be a trigger. We have Zofran to help keep down Tylenol but that’s really all.

We are definitely not at that level.

I swear I have PTSD from an "icepick" headache I got on Christmas eve when I was 13. I did a study at childrens and they basically said I was imagining them....

This has been going on for a couple days. Sounds a bit like a migraine. Try both advil or tylenol and see if one works better. Also hydrate and vitamins. That's a really good description she is giving.

We use "The [H's last name] Family" for most things bc my oldest son is the only one with a different name and he is still part of this family. Also, DNW ex-H's name on stuff. I guess I don't care as much when it comes to things people addressed to us, holiday cards etc., but there was something very symbolic about choosing a permanent design representing our home and our family. I feel like saying H's last name only sort of erases me and my son and absorbs us into his family. Yes, I way overthought this. Just over here picking a stamp and having an identity crisis...don't mind me. I did go for self-inking though, so I got something right 😉

My bff is in a similar situation, she’s the only one in her family with a different last name. They always use her “step-dad’s last-name’s family” on their christmas cards growing up. As far as I know she didn’t have any problems with that.

Sunny41, thank you! We don't usually do a lot for it, but this year I am really trying to embrace it b/c S is so obsessed w/ Christmas and Santa, I want to give him something fun too. S has complained of headaches too but honestly I usually think he is lying. I get headaches a lot and I usually think he says it b/c I have one. trtlcrzy I hope H's goes away quickly and kim22 I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been!!
