My in-laws are the neatest people on the face of the earth. I've never seen a thing out of place in their house. I keep my house pretty clean, but 3 kids. My in-laws are over 3 days a week and I've just had to stop caring if they judge the toys out or mail on the counter or whatever.

Hey. H was at school this morning and I picked up/ did laundry while S played. The girls are eating lunch then it’s nap and quiet time. My sister asked me to pick up my nephew from school and take him home so we will be doing that later this afternoon.

Today has been crappy. I left my lunch and snacks at home. Left my drink in my car. And work has been crazy.

Well.
Pete JUST discovered that his HMO has a 20% coinsurance for maternity/newborn services instead of a flat copay so guess who needs to come up her $5,000 max OOP now?
Grrrr.

We have family over 3-4 days a week as well and I don't care what they think of my house. I like to think it's pretty clean, I've definitely seen worse, but know we could do better. But no one is coming over to look at the last time I swept the kitchen floor or cleaned my stainless steel, so whatever. And if they do look at it, then clean away. I mean, my SMIL did the dishes that were in my sink last Tuesday while she waited for Evie to get done at preschool. Was I embarassed. Hell no, I was happy for the help!

Lol, my in-laws don't use dishwashers and will take dirty dishes out of the dishwasher and hand wash them. Weird, but I'll take some clean dishes however it might happen.

Okay guys...is this color too orange? My only concern is the attention it will attract, but then I remind myself that we are 40something year olds with a 5 year old and boring AF.

When are you moving in? I feel like you've been moving in for 22 years. For some reason I thought it was supposed to be August? Hoping by Christmas. I know the feeling peach! We’re hopefully moving in next weekend... 🤞🏻 we have family Christmas dinner with my dads side on the 22nd so we better be in next weekend.

I have never washed my pillows. I replace them 1-2 times a year. Am I gross, should I be washing them? tell me how to adult in this situation. Same. And I would replace it if something soiled it. I do have a fleece pillow that I do wash and often bc it’s the cat’s and he sits on it all day.

He has black now and wanted blue, but they cant find the package ge wants in blue, only this Go Mango color. It doesnt bother me, but I think the police will notice it more. If he sticks with blue, it isnt the motor he wants. He asked me if I like the orange. I think its more orangey-red.

mwhip it's definitly bright! But I have a bright Blue Jeep. I ordered it sight unseen and when they said the color I imagined it more of a midnight blue....WRONG. At first I thought..."what did I do!" But now I really kinda like it. I get soooo many compliments on the color. Plus it is easy to find in a crowded parking lot! And I don't have to worry about trying to get into the wrong vehicle! Lol.

nam2013 tgrimes jewels Here is the recipe These go great with mimosas for brunch but work well for afternoon/evening events, too. Artichoke Bacon Squares 8 Slices cooked bacon, crumbled 6 oz. marinated artichoke hearts 1/2 cup sour cream 2 TBS sliced green onions (I slice them pretty fine) 1 can Pillsbury dough (you can also use a can of 8-count crescent roll dough) 1 TBS sesame seeds Heat oven to 350. Drain artichoke hearts and cut into 1/2" pieces. In a small bowl combine crumbled bacon, artichoke hearts, sour cream and green onions; blend well. Separate dough into two squares (if using crescent roll dough, separate into 4 rectangles). Place one square (2 rectangles) of dough into the bottom of an ungreased 8 or 9" square pan; press over bottom to form crust. Use your fingers to position/stretch dough and seal seams if needed. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread bacon mixture over partially baked crust. Place second half of dough over bacon mixture, stretching to edges of pan. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Return to oven and bake and additional 25-35 min. or until golden brown. Cool 15 minutes; cut into squares. Yields 16. (I have successfully assembled these the night before an early event and just baked them last-minute).

cagoldi, that stinks! How did this just come up now? I guess he never checked his benefits to see what changed. With the boys, we had a copay of $500, IIRC. They’ve been sending all kinds of crazy bills for awhile, but now that I finally got that situation straightened out with them billing for the non-existent twin boy, they arrived at our actual total.

I have a recipe that’s similar to flamingo’s but a different filling. It’s super yummy. FYI: they now make crescent dough sheets without the perforations. Crescent Sausage Bites Ingredients 1 lb. sausage (pork or turkey) 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese 2 packages crescent rolls Dash salt & ground black pepper Directions In a saute pan, brown sausage; drain. Add a dash of salt and pepper. Blend in cream cheese until the cream cheese is melted. Unroll one package of crescent rolls and place on a baking sheet. With your fingers, gently press the seams together to seal them. Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border along the edges. Unroll the remaining package of crescent rolls and place on top of the sausage mixture. Press the edges together to seal. Gently press the seams together. Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes, or until crescent roll dough is golden brown. Cut into small squares and serve. (A pizza cutter makes really quick and easy work of the cutting.).

I wash our pillows a few times a year lfig...just regular washer/dryer cycles. I should probably invest in nicer pillows but until I know they won't be getting scrunched up/folded into a moving box every couple years, Target and BedBath&Beyond it is. Re: housekeeping, I do try and keep the house very clean for ILs' visits, but I'm probably not as uptight as I once was. I'm more relaxed around my own family, esp. when we lived in FL so they would stop by on a weekday, etc. My mom will always jump in and make an unmade bed, tidy the kitchen, etc. cheeksmum peachsmama I hope y'all can move in soon! My sister's ILs are building and the house was supposed to be done by September. It's probably going to be the new year now :/ She's annoyed more than they are b/c it means they visit frequently to check on things (and stay with her when they do!)

cagoldi , that stinks! How did this just come up now? I guess he never checked his benefits to see what changed. With the boys, we had a copay of $500, IIRC. Ugh, that sucks! along the same lines kinda....I got a almost $7000 bill from my surgery in March the other day. I went paperless with EOB's a few years ago because with Sierra, it was getting out of control with all the papers we got in the mail. Well, now they send an email when there is a new EOB and I am supposed to log in to view it. Which I have done approximately ZERO times. Until that bill came! So I went back and found a claim that was denied because I did not call in to answer additional questions about if we had any other insurance. It stated I had 6 months to respond. It was now 7 months post denial and I though "well, shit, I screwed that up!" Luckily, when I called in, it was NBD and they asked me the questions and submitted the approval. So I guess the moral of the story is...always review your policies and EOB's periodically!

mwhip statistically red cars get pulled over most often...that car stands out more than a red car, so I could see him getting busted every time he speeds. I've seen a lot of lime green cars in Austin lately. Hoping it's not an ongoing trend.
