guster I always see those little Advent calendars, but what the heck do you put in that teeny tiny box? That’s what’s stopped me from buying every time This. I want one of the little wooden ones and found one on Amazon but didn’t buy because I’m at a loss on what to put in it. I don’t want to put just candy in it. I bought the Melissa and Doug one yesterday just to have a countdown. |

Morning!
I’ve been at work trying to look busy. I have 2 patients and my boss, who was supposed to be off, is here. Boo!
M2 didn’t want to go to bed last night. It took me over and hour to get him down. Don’t know what was up with him, but I figured out why his sleep was bad a week or so ago. He got one of his molars in. He only has the top two and bottom two teeth in, so I was surprised to see a molar peeking through back there.

The worst. This is how I feel about my dentist retiring. I don't hate dentists or anything, but I've had enough so-so experiences with others I've seen over the years recommending work I don't need or whatnot, that I am just super skeptical of them all now. :/ |

So far I’ve got: Cash, a finger skateboard, a USB stick, wireless earbuds, a fidget puzzle thing, reading light, some rainbow strawberry seeds, and a HEX bug. In one box, I’m going to put a drawing of a record which will be like a clue to open his real present - a new Kraftwerk Tour de France LP. I’m just going to do candy in the remaining boxes. |

I was also thinking that maybe I’d buy that wooden advent calendar and every day put in a small silicone container with two M&Ms in it. There’s no need to do it all ahead of time, and the kids were going to get chocolate from a paper advent calendar anyway, so I might as well make it somewhat decent chocolate (and I also just bought four big boxes of mint m&m that they go crazy for)

ETA: the boxes are about the size of a Hatchimal egg...if you're wondering what can fit in them. I usually get a couple of blind bags and open them to put in them, candy, etc. What I've learned from Cadence is that repeats are not appreciated, so don't buy 1 type of candy and put it in several boxes.
So should I buy 2 or can I get 2 small things in it? Three |

There’s no need to do it all ahead of time, and the kids were going to get chocolate from a paper advent calendar anyway, so I might as well make it somewhat decent chocolate (and I also just bought four big boxes of mint m&m that they go crazy for) I put the notes in the night before so I can customize to our schedule. He can see when the paper is there and is excited about the magic that happened when he was in the other room. So if we have plans to do something I put the note in for that event. We also get about 5-8 seasonal books that we open through the season that i add there. You can find a bunch of these types of lists online. I printed a couple and picked the ones i wanted. |

Just found out a bid I’ve been working on for a week (not that time consuming, but the only thing I’ve had to do since it’s sooo slow at work) was a scam. Good think i caught it.. I was seconds away from sending the purchase order. Whew.

We get all the same games that you would get on Chicago cable minus WGN (local CW affiliate) which carries some games. H is satisfied the the sports coverage and dude watches everything. |

I refuse to think about Xmas gifts until we get through birthdays. I have told j that Santa is watching though lately when he's out of control and he will tell me he's watching too randomly which makes me chuckle.
Also side rant: our new oven isn't working and we have to have maintenance come out. I am so grouchy about this. They were coming Thursday but we don't have internet yet so I can't work from home, so now it's next Wednesday, and I guess I'll bring kids home from school so I don't have to drive back to fetch them.
