I’m currently sitting in the dark in Hs room waiting for him to fall asleep so he won’t climb out of the crib again. Dh gets home tomorrow and we will be putting the toddler rail up... I just need his backup because I don’t think it will go well. We might also have to turn the doorknob around for this crazy kid.

flamingo even though C has gotten strep twice now post surgery, it is less severe. His speech improved and he no longer snores. We didn’t have a sleep study because his tonsils were so big the Dr said he definitely has apnea. So I support it. Recovery was rough. I wish I asked for extra pain meds right from the start because Ibprofen and Tylenol didn’t cut it. They sent us home with some oxy for S and it was a life saver for the first few days!

flamingo a friend of mine has a boutique...she just got this in and all I could do was think of C! Lol. However, I can’t picture her wearing a ball cap...not her style! Omg do they have these on toddler sizes? My friend’s daughter is almost 2 and they call her that. And she wears baseball caps a lot Nope, just adult.

Hi guys! Thank you so much for thinking of C today. We are home and she is fine. I’m sorry I didn’t update sooner but as soon as I walked in the door I was bombarded by homework and dinner requirements.
So we got there, got checked in, put in a room, and at the point we’re going on about 16 hours of no pee. She had no fever, nothing else going on, so the dr decided to put a catheter in to get a pee sample. Of course this took awhile too. They finally got it in, got the sample, removed the cath and..... she let loose the Niagara Falls of all pees. Of course. So then we still had to wait for the lab results b cute the doctor wanted to rule out a UTI or any other infection. They finally came back and they were clean. The doctors best guess was that she was having some constipation/gas pain last night (which would account for her sleepless and fussy night) and since she was already having pain down there she was basically holding it.
Obviously I’m super grateful it was nothing, but I’m feeling lots of Mom guilt for dragging her to the hospital, her having to have a catheter, and dh leaving work early. I’m not usually one to rush my kids to the doctor, but she’s still so little and when the pediatrician first thing was to tell us to go to the er I admit I panicked a little.

You shouldn’t feel guilty at all unicorn. The Dr wouldn’t have cathed her if he thought you were being an alarmist. I’m glad she’s ok but you did the right thing.

slenle put a knob cover on the door and make sure big furniture is bolted to the wall like the dresser. We bolted the changing table too. We had to take all other furniture out of his room because he was a maniac.

xolastunicornxo Always better to be safe than sorry...that is a long time to go without urinating and she is tiny. You did the right thing, don't spend another minute feeling silly or like an alarmist. Poor C--I'm glad the poor girl doesn't have to hold it any longer!

You're looking out for her and really, that's a looong time for her to not pee. Poor thing. I hope she rests comfortably tonight. And you, too!!

A loved the car. Its EcoBoost which I didnt even notice. So it gets good gas mileage for a large SUV. We're going to get it one night this week.

xolastunicornxo don't feel guilty! 16 hrs is a long time for such a tiny bladder. I'm sure she was struggling. I think you did the right thing.

Last night I had my mom cut bangs for me. Tonight I darkened my hair a bit. What do you think?
Before Poof
After Poof
I think I like the bangs. They are long enough to push to the side. And since my mom is a former hairdresser she can trim them for me. I might have her shorten them just a bit.

Glad for a good update! xolastunicornxo Don’t feel silly. You did the right thing. tallb gotcha. I couldn’t remember if you said you were looking at a different house yesterday. Fingers crossed! I also get the bit about the commute. It will all be worth it when you are doing your laundry in your own house!

MH had second doubts about middle/high school, then we fought a bit, then I legit thought I was going to puke. And of course they got another offer tonight...so guess we will just wait and see.

I’m trying to catch up tallb yay!!! Congrats! I forget who said it earlier, but dh has a 60-70 minute commute during rush hour. Thankfully because he works east coast hours he can usually miss it, or wfh to go in earlier or later to avoid the rush.

xolastunicornxo, glad all is well! We had a similar ER experience with C when he was like 1.5ish. He had been cathed in the Dr office (they thought he had a UTI) and then it must have hurt to pee so he was holding it and they sent us to the ER. You did the right thing and like others said, they wouldn't have cathed her unless they thought it was necessary. It probably felt good for her to get all that pee out!
