I prefer the lighter denim. I don’t like the tie/belt on the second one.

flamingo a friend of mine has a boutique...she just got this in and all I could do was think of C! Lol. However, I can’t picture her wearing a ball cap...not her style!

Morning guys. Sorry I didn’t check in yesterday, it’s been a bit crazy. So my parents have owned a house down here for about ten years and they come down every couple of months. They always said they might come down here permanently, but my dad hasn’t been ready to retire yet. Well, they called me yesterday to tell me they are coming down here for good...... next week. Like whoa, thanks for the heads up. I’m having mixed feelings. I’ve told you we are concerned that mom might be having some cognitive decline (she’s 74) but so far she is refusing to go to the neurologist. Whatever is happening, she is definitely showing signs of social anxiety and it seems social situations make her “episodes” worse, and because of this I feel like my parents are isolating themselves a little bit. AnywAy, that was a ramble but basically I’m feeling anxious about what it’s going to be like having them here full time and if it’s going to fall on me to be the one to make the push to make her see a dr. Barrow has some great docs for aging and neurological issues. Maybe push them to get setup with local docs as soon as possible rather than suggesting something specific.

Anyone have a product they'd like to recommend for getting the vomit smell out of my rug? I tried resolve and this pet cleaner stuff we have. Peroxide?

I like the lighter denim flamingo. More classic of a style than the one with the belt and ruffle.

flamingo I would do either dress, though I like the old navy one better. Also, I hope the surgery is transformative for B.

Work kicked my ass today. I have so much to get done the next three days because I booked a vacation the last week of the fiscal year like a big idiot. So now I need to rush. It’s been nuts.
My boss also asked me to give him my position description and a list of my duties and note what I do now that’s not in it so he can reevaluate. Basically 80% of what I do now isn’t in my description because I took on my former supervisors duties when she was canned. Hopefully this gets me a raise. I’m hoping to jump a pay grade this year and next year to get where I should really be. We will see if he agrees.

Thanks, all! I think I can rule out the ruffled one. I'm going to look around a bit more but I'm glad y'all think the ON one could work. I want to look for an ivory tunic sweater, too. lfig I love the hat! With the teal, it would match her Jaguars-themed leggings, lol.

Keep us posted xolastunicornxo ! Just talked to the nurse again; ENT reviewed everything and wants to proceed with tonsil and adenoid removal. We should hear from the scheduler this week. I'm hoping we can get it done this fall before cold and flu season (and selfishly, since we have already reached our max OOP on our insurance, lol). I hate to put him through this but I think long-term it will be for the best. My nephew had this surgery around this age. Total game changer. He slept so much better, got sick much less and you could actually finally understand him when he talked. He had a really thick nasally voice, huge difference.

Oh so I told a couple parents that were at the birthday party Saturday that C was diagnosed with strep the following day. One parent seemed annoyed. I didn’t know he was sick Saturday and for all I know, he got it from someone there. I was trying to be nice telling them because I would want to know in the event my kid got a sore throat I would know to take him in right away.
Anyway the other parent said his daughter is coughing a lot. Of course now C is coughing. And he was prescribed zofran for nausea from the antibiotic. He got so drowsy from it. I wasn’t expecting that. Hopefully he’s over all this crap before Saturday.

flamingo even though C has gotten strep twice now post surgery, it is less severe. His speech improved and he no longer snores. We didn’t have a sleep study because his tonsils were so big the Dr said he definitely has apnea. So I support it. Recovery was rough. I wish I asked for extra pain meds right from the start because Ibprofen and Tylenol didn’t cut it.

Yes, B has a slight hypo-nasal quality to his voice, as well...he always sounds like he's a bit stuffed up. It's ok now b/c he's still little, but another year or two and I could see where it might start to hold him back socially.

My friend said they had some stronger stuff, so I will def. make sure we get something. Thankfully (oddly enough) he doesn't have issues with strep--he's only had it once. But his tonsils overlap so yes, they're definitely large! I am hoping we see less sickness, too...I feel like he gets sick more often than C (obviously he's exposed to more, but she rarely catches what he has) and when he does get colds it takes him *forever* to kick them. Thank you, all, for the tips and stories. Very reassuring.

Holy shit tallb!! When is the deadline? We are going to sign it shortly. It's been on the market for a bit but apparently they have turned down 3 offers that had home sale contingencies, which we don't have. lahdeedah yes,it is about a 45 min drive to work for me...but basically everything in our price range is and I just need to deal if we want a house. Several families from our preschool live in this neighborhood at least, so I know people do the commute already. It is what it is. Thanks guys! I'll keep you posted. Of course my dad texted that my SM went to the hospital with chest pains but seems to be okay, so I'm a bit of a cluster and was super short with the kids tonight.

The first bout of strep was a weekend and he’s only had minor colds otherwise.

flamingo I’m with everyone else that I like the first one and think it’s be adorable with leggings for the fall tallb I commute 40-70 minutes depending on traffic. It sucks but I got used to it. Almost everyone in my area has a commute like that so it’s fairly normal to me. I’m not sure how flexible your work is but little changes really help (ie later start, working from home one day per week etc). Before MH quit his job to start his own co, he used to work from home till 10 ish then drive in. It dropped his commute from 60-80 minutes down to about 40 and was a real game changer for him
