We also do realize there is a difference between sleep training and people's budget/recommendation threads right? The point is it would be silly to have 12 sleep training threads or 12 work bag threads. It’s ok for a thread to evolve and discuss things beyond the OP.

Well it was free advice so deal with it Clearly you don't realize that you don't actually want flats you want heels. We know you better than you know yourself

And yet, that baby looks damn good on your arm today, doesn’t it? You’re an enabler! But yes, it’s amazing. Now if you excuse me, I need to go bully bazi into swiping her credit card.

It’s also annoying AF when someone states their budget and people come in just to “I would never ...” their price range. Based on what I have seen around here, I feel like some of the people that write that want to be convinced otherwise.

Sure and someone else who maybe didn't realize they needed something could say in that thread that they too want something, but that isn't what happens and I think that is what @gentleapricot is saying

If the question is do people use recommendation threads to brag sometimes I think the answer is yes. If the question is does every thread need to stay perfectly within the original confines and never evolve I think the answer is no.

Although, our financial situation changed a lot in the last few years and I now could...but my head is very used to saying "nope, save that $$ for a trip".

Follow up: if another question is do people sometimes use recommendation threads to shame people who want to spend money the answer is also yes.

I am in the market for a three row luxury SUV with captains chairs. So you guys helped me. And it’s all about me. Get the Escalade like you said. It seems to be your best option. Quite honestly there aren’t a lot of options in that market for what you are looking for. And defining luxury large SUV always gets wonky because some people would claim the Lincoln Navigator and Yukon Denali are luxury but they aren’t. Nice but not a luxury vehicle. Get the Escalade in that brownish color, it’s very classy. Wait the Navigator isn't considered a luxury vehicle? It leases way more than the Escalade around here. That's kind of a rip off if it's not technically a luxury SUV.

Cher, you should get the Escalade in black. I used to be all white vehicles all the time, but my black heart has overtaken even that aspect.

My UO was about the first but some are trying to make it about the second and I just won’t go there.

Not angry jealousy, but wistful jealousy. I get jealous, but it also makes me happy to see people I consider nice people getting nice things. It is okay to feel multiple ways about this.

With that being said, I wouldn’t necessarily peg luxury on cost either.

My only experience with luxury SUVs is my friends recently bought an Audi SUV because they are looking to have kids relatively soon and it had spacious trunk space with 3 rows of seats and could fit all the baby gear yada, yada. The looks on their faces when they realized DDs stroller didn't fit in the trunk with the 3 row of seats up was priceless.

This kind of reminds me of Turkish weddings. DH is from a ridiculously wealthy Turkish family and their events are as OTT as can be. All the outfits are handmade and as cutting edge fashion as possible with three or four outfit changes per wedding. They drip with diamonds and are all so so pretty.
I used to feel so plain, even when I thought I was dressed to the nines, I was nowhere in the same universe. Now, 10 years later, I just dress in what I feel pretty in and sit back and wathc the amazing Turksih fashions like it is my own red carpet. I take pics and send them to my mom and we dish over how gorgeous the clothes are.

The trunk being about to fit a double stroller with all three rows up is basically #2 on my must have list after 2nd row bucket seats. MH was trying to get me to buy that tiny Tesla “suv” that has literally no trunk and I loled him so hard.
