So where do you fall on early Ke$ha? Obligatory gif every time Kesha is mentioned and will never not be funny.

We got a large chunk of change when one of DH’s Zelda stature BOXES was damaged in our water backup claim. DH was pretty smug about it because I’ve definitely given him a lot of shit for holding onto boxes. FTR it wasn’t scheduled. They just settled it under personal property after looking up the value on like eBay.

I had to buy my son a box of assorted legos (not a set) even though we had eleven billion legos, because he refused to take apart sets once he built them and I wanted him to be creative.
My son will totally be Will Ferrell in the Lego Movie someday.

HilarityEnsued, at the conventions there are huge bins of just loose legos where you can fill a bag for $10 or something like that. People will sit there and sift through them for hours and build rare sets from the pieces they find in there.

Are you guys not tucking your tampon strings in?
Or maybe its a confession that on the rare occasion that I wear a tampon (I am 95% of the time using a diva cup) I tuck my string so I don't pee on it?

My husband has all the lego confessions to give. His mom kept all of his lego sets (and instruction manuals) from when he was a kid. In the last year, he's sorted all of his legos by color and size and organized in drawers. He's working on rebuilding each of his original sets. He often buys a singular missing lego piece he needs from other lego hoarders on the internet.
For the girls we have a bin of loose legos for creative building, but they also do a lot of story play with built sets... which will often get torn down and repurposed. I don't think there is a wrong way to play with legos.

Legos are my hell but I’ve been encouraging them with the boys because I agree they are a great creative toy. I’m just not helping.

We had a legit family feud over a lego set being dismantled. Like, decades later, it was still being referenced and people weren’t invited to weddings and stuff. Some people have serious feels about LEGO sets. (I am not one of them.)

I like Lincoln Logs and tinker toys for building as well.
Maybe I was doing Lincoln logs wrong too.

omg I cann't believe I'm divulging this but... further confession is part of the reason there is spreadsheet is that the monetary value of the lego collection is nearing the place where we might need a specific rider on our insurance to cover it. You know shit is dire when I'm confessing the depths of my nerd habit rather than talk about tampons falling out of vaginas.

McBenny that is a pretty lame set and would be perfect for creative play. I wouldn't buy that because I know it's nothing I'd want displayed and is too dumb with all the separate little pieces. Typically the sets we buy are one large thing and not multiple little assembled items. My child likes Minecraft so....that how we get to lame. It doesn't come assembled at least ours did not.
I think it goes without saying that the McBenny's would not buy something like the Opera house even if it cost $10 cause there isn't that kind of interest.

If there was a lego set for something we know like Tiger Stadium or something in NOLA etc then there might be that kind of interest to build it and keep it to look at for us.

Serious LEGO question- is not most of the value in never opened sets? Like are used ones still worth anything?

I'm going to throw you in a lego-constructed Azkaban and make you be friends with me. I'll wait while you google what I typed since I know it's basically Chinese to you. I'm looking at google images and I'm still very confused.

My lego confession on behalf of DH, I spent two months calling lego stores (several days a week at opening, based on inventory stock times) trying to find him the Millenium Falcon set for his birthday. Stores, if they got them, would only get one or two at a time, and people would line up outside the stores for hours in advance trying to get one. They were completely sold out online (they did a restock earlier this spring, but it was before that). I finally did get one, but I had to tell DH to go get it because I drive a hatchback and the box wouldn't fit in my car. There are two instructional manuals and they are spiral bound. Minecraft is also hell. I got stuck staring at the sky or something and could not fix it. Handed the iPad back to the 6 year old. No thanks.

Actual photo of hilarity’s house. I guess my confession is that I have been weirdly attracted to James May for years. I cannot explain it.

That is the first one I saw when I checked out Legos at Targetcom. It is the original version of the Mellenium Falcon that is going for the price of a used car on Ebay.

I confess that I also love Meghan Trainor, but I find her to be problematic. I censor C’s music on portrayal of women, so I don’t play most of her songs in front of her, but then I let her listen to things with all sorts of profanity. ETA: no excuses is allowed So where do you fall on early Ke$ha? Kesha is an American hero.

Did you know that you can take Legos as a 4H project and display your creations at the county fair? Separate categories for kit building and freestyle.
DS argued with me when I told him to put his Legos away before we had a party and wanted to proudly display them on his dresser. He spent the next day writing a "suspect" list to determine which of the almost 30 kids at the party had relocated and deconstructed one of his creations. Well, actually at first he called it a "victim" list and I got super nervous until DD pointed out that he'd used the wrong word. I realized they may have been watching too much Matlock with Grandma when they started interviewing their cousins as potential witnesses.

I used to buy the Mega Bloks ProBuilders sets when I was in high school. I wanted the fire engine so much, but it was way too expensive. Nothing compared to the fancy Lego sets, but expensive to us at the time.

Omg I’d buy all the Harry Potter LEGO sets. I like creative lego-img, but if you could built Hogwarts that would be amazing. I look st it like a 3D puzzle of sorts, so I don’t mind building that alone.
