Morning! S had a physical for school yesterday at our local pediatrician. Then we went straight from there to STL. Stayed at my parents last night, today S has a follow up at the hospital with ENT from her tonsillectomy. Then right after that her yearly check up with her Neurosurgeon. After appts my mom and I are going to eat at one of my favorite places, Olga’s Kitchen! Then going to visit my sister and her kids after school gets out so I can give my twin nieces their birthday presents. Then we will make the trek home because I have to work tomorrow. I want Olga's so bad! I love it! I worked there for 3 years in college waiting tables. They closed that store down a few years ago so there is just 1 other location around but it’s about an hour away. But since I e got time to kill between appts and my sister and kids getting out of school we decided to make the drive. My mom is trying to diet. She decided today will be her cheat day. Lol.

I have a not great morning ahead of me. So, when my grandmother (dads mom) passed last year she left me and my the cousins (dads sisters boys) a fairly substantial inheritance. My aunt passed several years ago and when she did my grandmother rewrote her will, stating that each of the grandchildren get their inheritance, what was left from the estate (house sale and whatnot) was split between my dad and the three boys, but that what was left in the bank accounts and money markets was to just go to my dad. Well the boys... and by boys I mean the dirt bag, trashy, greedy boys who Had zero relationship with my gma and didn’t so much as send condolences when she died..... think it’s “unfair”and are suing my dad for what’s in the bank accounts. Even though after our inheritance and their half of the estate they are walking away with more money than my dad is. So I have to sit in a teleconference mediation and keep my temper in check. I’m so pissed and feel so bad for my dad.

mwhip I would soak in a bath to see how I feel afterwards. I really like ultrasound therapy so I usually do that over the chiropractor.

mwhip, I'd go to the chiropractor! I've gone a few times in the past for random issues and it's been great and I've only needed one visit. I don't have experience with what you have though.

Happy Friday ladies! And it's payday, which means I need to schedule all our bill payments, so I'll be broke by noon. I have been having pretty bad sciatic pain. I googled some exercises last night, but they look...difficult. I am not flexible. H keeps telling me to go see a chiropractor. Does anyone know of anything that helps before I get that desperate? It is LIFE CHANGING!!! Go!
Seriously though, I started going back to the chiro again about a month ago because I was starting to have some SI Joint and sciatic issues. I'm pain free now, and that's WITH camping for two weekends and sleeping on an air mattress. My back used to go out every three months like clockwork, once I started seeing a chiropractor, my back hasn't gone out since.
My chic in Leavenworth is awesome, highly recommend, but I'm sure you want something down there.

The last time you guys mentioned Olga’s, you made me so hungry that I looked at the menu and decided what I would order if I were there. I do not remember it now.

xolastunicornxo, I would be rage filled. I will never be able to understand people like this. I've had conversations with my mom about future inheritance and such. I've always told her very plainly that I will respect whatever they have decided to do with their money. I will not fight with my sisters over it. I did not earn the money and it is not my right to make/fight decisions made about it.

Yeah, I'll probably go to the same place H goes in Olathe. Alright, you have all convinced me just to go. I'll try to go tomorrow morning.

@unicorn, it’s awful. I’m on the outside of the same situation. When my grandmother died her will very clearly stated that her money would go to her surviving children. So the money is going to my one aunt that’s left. My uncle (who passed away in 93), has two children in their 50 who are trying to sue my aunt for a partial sum of the inheritance. They keep calling and texting me to see if I want in their lawsuit because they believe that we are entitled to the money because our parents have passed. I just keep deleting texts and ignoring voicemails. I’m really sorry you have to go through this

Morning...oof. I may have over indulged in the wine a bit last night at dinner with the fam. My cousin, the fashion photographer, kept us up late telling horror stories from the beauty industry trenches and re-enacting crazy situations from our childhood. It was hilarious. I have not laughed like that in a long time. He's young and carefree still, and it reminded me not to take life too seriously.
I am also reminded that late nights with an infant are not advisable. Bea was waking up, just as I was going to bed 😬 Currently, eating a breakfast burrito and having some iced coffee in an attempt to come back to life.

xolastunicornxo I just don’t get how you can sue after a person has stated in a will who will get what. Like that was their wishes. Too bad you aren’t satisfied with what she gave to you. The nerve of people. 😡

I'm sorry, xolastunicornxo. DH's Mom (spurred on by his Dad) and her sisters got into a huge fight before their Mom even died, because she changed her will from what had been expected. NONE of them were under any financial hardship, it was just people being greedy and jumping to conclusions. It's awful enough to lose those we love, it's just insane to me for people to then act like assholes. I'm so sorry.

I am starting to think of L's bday party already....this year his bday is on Thanksgiving. I am planning his first friends (from day care) party and ideally would have it the Sunday prior, 11/18. However there is another girl in the class having her bday party on 11/17. I am not sure the whole class is invited to hers as it is a princess party , but obviously there will be overlap, so I'm thinking of moving L's so there are not 2 parties in 1 weekend. Do you think people will come to a party the Sunday after Thanksgiving? Or should I have it early on the 11th? Leave it? The next weekend 12/2 seems so late. Wwn13D? Growing up my birthday was always around Thanksgiving, so I frequently had parties the weekend before or after. I think a lot of people travel for Thanksgiving so I'd worry turnout could be low. As a parent, I really don't want to do 2 parties in a weekend, but if my kid wanted to go to both I'd suck it up and go. Sooooo if you don't have it the same weekend, I'd probably have it the week prior, 11/11.

I just signed Cadence up for her first Parents' Night Out at dc. They eat pizza, watch a movie, play games, etc. Some of her friends are staying for it and she really wanted to do it. It's tonight. I may be a little stressed about it.

xolastunicornxo, if the will is found to be self-proving, then there really isn't much these other relatives can do. Is it a hand-written will or one she went to a lawyer and got?

Ugh xolastunicornxo I'm sorry y'all have to deal with that. Hopefully it can be resolved quickly and with as little drama as possible. Money can make people just awful. My dad's mom split her estate b/n her two surviving children, and the widowed husband of her daughter (who died a couple years before her)--so a three-way split. My dad's sister freaked...thankfully no lawsuits, but lots of ugly letters, nasty comments, etc., as she felt her BIL should have been cut out. She's basically the pariah of the family now...no one really wants to have anything to do with her b/c she was so ugly.

The church our new preschool is affiliated with offers this the first friday of each month and it's open to church members and preschool families. DH is out of town this week, but we are going to try it in October.

xolastunicornxo nothing like money and death to bring out the greed in people 🙄. Similar thing happened when MH’s Grandma died...minus the being sued. But she had 4 kids. One of them was a drug addict and his grandma raised her 2 kids. So she split everything 4 ways in the will. But the druggie daughter’s 1/4 was split 3 ways between her and her kids who Grandma raised. Seemed pretty fair to me. But druggie daughter threw a fit and treated her own children horrible and tried demanding they turn their portions over to her. It was a mess. Then one of the other aunts was pissed because his gma specifically willed her bedroom suit to MH because he commented once that he liked it. She didn’t think it was fair that he was specifically named but her kids weren’t. Drama drama drama. I hope things turn out good for your dad.
