September!
What’s everyone up to this long weekend? We didn’t plan anything ahead of time so we are just sticking around. We took J for a bike ride in the trailer for the first time yesterday and he seemed to enjoy it. Taking him for a longer ride today once he’s up from his nap.

He had his 15 month appt on Friday and he is not even 21 lbs. I keep thinking one of these appts he would have grown a lot but nope, still tiny.
He got two shots and didn’t cry one bit and the nurses were impressed.

We're more or less having a normal weekend here. MH is working and I have to work for a few hours tomorrow.
I took DS for a haircut this morning and it went a lot better than the last one. To be fair, the woman who cut his hair last time scared DS and was incredibly rude to me about the whole thing and the guy who did it today was so much better to both of us. I'm just glad it was a more positive experience for him and I like his hair a lot better this time too.

I do want to try cutting his hair myself at some point but I’m not feeling too confident yet. Maybe I’ll give it a try in the winter when he’ll be wearing a hat a lot. 😛

My parents are hosting a BBQ this afternoon, so that's the only thing planned officially. We may hit the zoo tomorrow morning if the weather isn't too hot or rainy.

I've stuck with either Great Clips or Sport Clips for him ever since just so it's less money if he's uncooperative or the haircut sucks. I keep telling myself I'll try doing it myself when he's less wiggly. Thankfully he's mostly good and sits still for the stylists who have done his hair, so I don't mind paying for his haircuts until then.

G didn't want to nurse last night. He just wanted a hug from daddy and bed. It might have made me a little sad.

Those of you considering cutting your kids' hair are brave - I don't think I'll ever have the guts for it.
No plans here as DS came down with a cold. That's every holiday/holiday weekend since Thanksgiving. -_- Lots of Blaze and the Monster Machines today. We were planning on the zoo, but he was up so many times last night because he couldn't breathe that we were too tired to leave before the parking lot filled up.

No big plans here this weekend. We move in 3 weeks so packing stuff is really the only thing on our agenda in our free time.
I just took DS2 for his second haircut the other day. We just go to Great Clips. We used to take DS1 to a barber but the guy never managed to cut it right, dude had a mushroom haircut for ages because I didn't have the guts to say anything.

Both my kids have hair that curls at the end so they have longer hair than almost every male kid we know or see. I trim their bangs when necessary and only take them for clean ups. I get annoyed at being charged $20 at the kid place for them to take off ¼”

We’re having issues with our downstairs neighbors. Basically, they complain that the kids running around and being typical 1.5 and 3.5 year olds before 10am (end of quiet hours) is too loud and disturbing. She also complains that they push the train table around and that I occasionally have to pull out the crib or couch to get something behind it before 10am
So, in the spirit of being neighborly, I moved all our untethered furniture and vacuumed the hell out of the carpets today. Multiple times. But I waited until it was after 10am so she doesn’t have a leg to bitch on.
I think I’ll steam clean it all tomorrow. Again, it may take multiple times to get my wall to wall carpeting clean. There’s so much dust in the carpet that I filled my canister, even with having just vacuumed yesterday on the main areas...
Man, I can’t wait until my house is done

lupincat @starzia she supposedly had 3 kids. You’d think she’d get that toddlers run around and such. She’s called our rental office many times and was pretty much told tough shit, that she’d have to deal unless we chained them to the couch until 10am. They told me she ended up calling CORPORATE to complain about the noise and got told the same thing. She seems to think it’s maliciously against her and we’re doing this all on purpose to annoy her and disrupt their lives. 🙄 She had left a note on my door back in July complaining, and I confronted her. She’s left us alone since, but I’ve no longer gone out of my way to keep the noise down because she’s an ungrateful hag who doesn’t understand that we were trying, so screw it. I’m mean, this is the woman who called a noise complaint when DS2 was sick over the winter and up screaming MOTN because he felt awful, so I really shouldn’t have been surprised..

There's a special level of hell for nasty people like that. She must judge every parent who dares take their kids into public.

I mean, oh well. That's part of apartment living hearing other people move around. I would be....unpleasant and petty right back to her. And 10am seems late to me for a noise restriction! I would think 8 or 9.

Our house is supposed to be done by the first of December. She only has to deal until then

DH caught M's cold overnight and has morphed into the whiny, man-flu patient we all know and love (not). So taking care of DS was almost completely on me today and it was hard not to be resentful. DH frequently has to travel OOT country for work - the gov puts him up in nice hotels and nice flights if it's in a really remote place (like, he goes to Mongolia, not joking). And I'm here dealing with M, no friends nearby and no family. He leaves in two weeks for another of these trips and I just wanna hand the kid to him next Saturday and stroll out the door for a day to myself. Would never happen, DH is finding this age difficult.

nerdalert, H rarely travels for work but when we does he tells me how he “doesn’t sleep well” in hotels. Dude, what I wouldn’t give for 1 night alone in even a halfway decent hotel! Men!

Damn straight! Those hotels he's in are 4-5 star generally, because they have to be secure. He goes on at length about the amazing breakfast bars, the in-room food service, the complimentary spas, the amazing views... you get my irate drift. He complains, well, I work 10-12 hours days while I'm there. I really wanna ask, "Being solo parent and working full-time from 6am to 8pm doesn't count then?"

His trips are for weeks at a time, the plane tickets are crazy expensive if I wanna fly with him, and while the hotels are amazing because they cater to diplomats, the locales past the front doors aren't necessarily nice or safe all the time. I may go with one day (I'd love to see Mongolia especially), but mostly I'm just annoyed that he thinks it's SO hard to be away from the comforts of home, pity him. I seem like a shitty wife right now, but especially since we're TFAS, I'm hyper sensitive to his woe-is-me tales.

Oh, we’ve weaned. He was nursing too sporadically to keep my supply up. He was pretty sad about it for a few days but is doing fine now. Sometimes he’ll look down my shirt and say “all done”. 😢😅

You should really take some time to yourself, even just for a few hours. Wrap it around nap time and have your H watch him for a few hours after your kid wakes up. Bring some take out on your way home so you don't have to cook. He'll manage!

nerdalert I also highly recommend you get some time for yourself. Get up in the morning when the house is quiet and just peace out for a bit. Go get a cup of coffee somewhere and then get a pedicure or something. At the very least leave to go grocery shopping by yourself. You deserve at the very minimum a morning to yourself.

A is having all the poop accidents today. Of course we've been with family all day so she went through all the panties, all the pull ups that I had as back up in the van and is currently in a too small diaper. Wtf? If she's not feeling well, I guess I'm glad it's coming out that way versus vomit, right?
