Bedtime last night was slightly easier. E didn’t sleep great but I got enough to function. Currently C and LO are fighting over breakfast again. C never learns that LO asks for eggs but C doesn’t make them the way LO likes so he doesn’t eat them. I swear eggs will cause WWIII in my house one day. LO and I made banana bread last night so he could eat that for breakfast. Oh well.
C and I will decide and conquer chores today. We need to get lo’s haircut, Target, Trader Joe’s and Costco.
I’m also trying to find a photo place to take family photos with Dexter without a crazy sitting fee. Any suggestions?

vino glad J is okay. We occasionally let e on our shoulders in stores, but she knows she has to be careful, and the one who isn't giving the ride, has to help get her down. Since shes now 55lbs, we wont be giving them, it kills our backs. Yard is mowed and weed eated. H told me he wants to go to his cousins for their end of the summer pool party. Awesome, now I have to figure out a side dish to take. Would throwing together a lettuce based salad with toppings of other veggies and bringing dressing be tacky? All the food people are bringing is very 'heavy' and not really on my diet, which I screwed yesterday. I think it would be fine, refreshing even. I wouldn’t think it would be tacky.

We lived in 900 sq ft with 3 kids until T was 10 months. Now we have about 1900 and we are pretty much the biggest house in the area. We are debating putting a room over the garage for C or just stuffing T and C together if C ever sleeps.

We are around 1200sq and we are a little squished. That’s mostly because we have to have a guest room since my parents visit so often and E can’t sleep in LO’s room yet. So right now E is in our room and once she’s constantly sttn will move into the guest room except when my parents are visiting.

sands42 it’s about 200sqf, so nothing major but enough for a sandbox and a kiddie pool in the summer:).

I got mine from Sephora. They are very gentle on hair. My hair is pretty thick so it’s not super secure, but works well for when I want to throw my hair up quick. I definitely would try one for me, but I’m still very old-school and often have a hair tie around my wrist. Same.

We are 2 for 4 in the potty training game today. The two accidents were when we were outside on the deck because I didn’t bring the potty out there but still left him without pants.

Hi hi - how do I get j from getting in my bed?! Omg it's like worse than an infant bc he stays in bed and is such a flopper. MH then slept in until like 10 and basically ruined any options before nap time. I did clean off the top of my dresser and bedside table that were buried in random crap and old makeup, so that at least looks decent. MH is out for a run now and then tbd, maybe pool or I kind of want to go to the new Uniqlo that's opening, I loved that store when I went to Japan.

You could also try bribery.

Both of my children come into my bed 98% of the time. I’m a heavy sleeper so I don’t realize till the morning usually.

She tosses & turns and I wake up at the littlest noise. I also don’t want to make a habit of letting her in my bed so that’s why I take her back to her room. If I need to lay down with her until she’s fallen back asleep because she’s had a scary dream or something, I will. But it needs to be her bed and not mine.

We slept late because we didnt get home until 1 am. My bil and his gf started renting a house so we went to see it and stayed way to late. But it was fun. Bil is the only family member that aligns with me politically so obviously he's my favorite. We went to a used clothing store to get some dress up costumes because peach is OBSESSED! and now out for a late lunch. I plan to paint while they nap.

Just came back from the pedi.
Dude was great for his shot.
The doctor wanted more information about how X is doing in therapy and what the OT is seeing. Pedi says she thinks X is pretty social and doing well enough with speaking. I agree on those points. I described the self-stimming and repetitive behaviors that I had attributed to sensory stuff and she said no, those are totally outside the bounds of "normal."
So apparently it used to take TWO YEARS to get an appointment with the developmental pedi, but the practice has expanded and it shouldn't take more than a few months to get him in. She said IF they confirm he's on the spectrum, there is a great ABA center in Santa Ana (not terribly far from us) and she will work with the other pedi to get him in if they think the situation calls for that.

So scary vino! Glad she's okay. flamingo - That's our exact issue on the 2nd floor. Our master is just flush with wasted space - the bedroom itself, the en suite and even the closet has a lot of dead space. The boys'rooms are okay but the guest room is smaller and the closet almost non-existent.

Hi! I just caught up on over 100 posts and now I can’t think of everything I wanted to say. cagoldi Two years is insane! Glad it should only take a couple of months and there is a place nearby that may be suited well for him. Where is your head after talking to the pedi? vino So sorry about the fall. That must have been scary for everyone. Glad she is ok and not at all bruised.

Yesterday was bananas, but business was GREAT! I had some hiccups, but now I know exactly what I need for such a big event. We made a nice profit and will hopefully do maybe two more games before it gets too cool for sno-cones.
The house we have now is just under 2000 sq ft. It was perfect for us before we had M2, but now I feel cramped. Doesn’t help that I need to purge and declutter all the things and MH brings anything home that is “free”. 🙄 We are staying put in this house until he gets a job offer elsewhere, so I’m making do. Not sure how big I want to go because just keeping this house “clean and tidy” is a big to do for me.

I mean, he can sit with one toy for an hour, or gather every circle shaped object he can find and line them up according to size, or entertain himself with my plastic colanders all afternoon poking at the holes, but I always just thought "wow he really has incredible focus/his mind is so organized." It never occurred to me this was characteristic of anything.

cagoldi one, don’t beat yourself up for ‘missing’ things, and two, the things you mentioned might stand out a little (I’m not saying they do/don’t) but also may very well be within normal range. The thing with early diagnostics is, that some normal toddler behaviour is hard to separate from ‘disorder’ behaviour. Hugs, we’re here if you need us.

Everything nam2013 said cagoldi. And he's just now 2. Not like he's 6 and you've been burying your head in the sand and now he's struggling in school. As soon as you were made aware you took all the right steps and will get him everything he needs to succeed.

He's highly intelligent, he's happy, and most importantly, he's the biggest sweetheart. He has a heart of gold. He might need a little more help with tuning out certain things or regulating his emotions (I.E. not getting upset to the point of throwing up during a haircut), but I can't think of one single thing about him that I would change.
