joelies can kids wear sunhats outside? Fftc I only out sunscreen on n in the morning, J's playground is pretty shady, hers is not. No hats at all at the elementary school. But I agree, the one application in the a.m. will be enough, and within a few weeks it won't even matter.

Yes, there is no THC in it which is the component that gets you “high”. I’m in the middle on this issue. I think it’s overused. But as a parent of a child with intractable epilepsy, I can also see the desperation for something...anything...to help your child. I personally know someone who is using it for her child with epilepsy. She is a well educated person who researches everything extensively. She made the choice to give it a try after many failed medications. It’s still to early to tell if it is making a difference as she’s just started it. For us, we have considered it, but we put our faith in the medical world and are going to exhaust those options first. S is on 4 different seizure meds 3x a day, and clearly, still not controlled. However, the FDA recently approved Epidiolex (cannabidiol) [CBD] oral solution for the treatment of seizures associated with two rare and severe forms of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome, in patients two years of age and older. This is the first FDA-approved drug that contains a purified drug substance derived from marijuana. S has Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. It is supposed to be available to be prescribed by a medical doctor sometime in late fall. I plan to ask about it at our next neurologist appointment. Just for more information, and to get the doctors thoughts on it. If she feels it could help S we would definitely go for it. I know you're not looking for any justification, and you don't need to, but In your situation it is 💯 reasonable to look into that option. Absolutely. I have no problems with people taking a responsible approach, researching, involving their medical providers, and turning to alternative methods. It's just in most of the cases with cannabis/THC, CBD I don't see people doing this. I don't side eye people who discuss options with their doctors and come up with official dosing plans. I know there are some legitimate uses for it that have been research-supported and I'm all for that. Lately I've just seen a bunch of crazy bandwagon people that seem to think it will cure anything.

I'm just in a funk since the weekend. With everything with Jack and fighting with A, which we basically never do. I just feel off. I went to get my nails done in hopes that would perk me up. I got a coffee on the way and saved a baby box turtle from getting run over (moved him in the direction he was going, just off the road) and I feel much better.
Weirdness at the salon though: Some woman, probably late 40's, was getting a pedicure when I got there. She was giving the young guy doing it a hard time the whole time but in a kind of joking way. But the comments were still making me cringe and I felt bad for the guy. She's making this weird demand about painting the edge/bottom of her toe nails to keep it from chipping and he apparently wasn't doing what she asked. She was getting more and more hateful and he said something in mandarin to the nail tech next to him to which she says "hey! Speak American boy! I want to know what you're saying about me!" I just.. no words. The whole place got dead silent and she tried to laugh it off but seriously. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!?!?

I know it takes away from the relaxing experience peachsmama, but I've had to say something more than a handful of times to people being rude to service employees when they are OTT. They're pretty much just being abusive because they know they can, but you know what? I'm a paying customer, too, and I don't want to hear your shit. Poor Pete. At this point, he knows when I'm going to interject because he gives me "the look" and just walks away.

The woman next to her said "He's going to hide next time you come in" and I told my tech that I would if I were him. And she just nodded. I imagine they put up with a lot of that crap.

We did Back to School night yesterday and it was awesome.
I'm so excited about this elementary.
Since it's STEM, they have tons of cool activities every week. One recurring thing they do is have a huge blueprint of a city and the kids work together to construct it out of blocks.
They have a bunch of stations oriented towards each style of learning: kinesthetic, tactile, auditory, and visual.
There is a quiet corner where the kids can go pick up a book and wear noise cancelling headphones if they need a break. They have a little trampoline and wiggly seats.
His teacher has a point system and when the kids collect ten cards for being a good listener, using kind words, etc. they get to pick a reward like "wear your slippers to school tomorrow" or "take care of the class pet (stuffed Pete the Cat)."
I feel like we are so, so lucky to have the kids at this school.

peachsmama - I'm not sure what makes me want to punch her more - "Speak American" or "boy". What a hateful bitch. I'm sorry she ruined your visit.

I’m picking C up early so we can go buy a birthday gift for the party we are going to Saturday. I hope I don’t regret this since I often regret the early pick up when he’s a jerk.

joelies he is so grown up looking. To be honest, I have never sunscreened my kids for school, pre-k or otherwise. Our K-5 playground is 100% blacktop and all sun except right against the edges of the building. They only go out for 20ish minutes a day and they have never had a problem. tgrimes the teeth thing sucks so bad, I’m sorry. xolastunicornxo that’s a crazy night, good job not drinking during soccer practice. Today DH took off and we went to the beach. It was beautiful and the water was so calm I even brought C out. Unfortunately, about 2 hours after we got there, a syringe washed up right where the kids were playing and it freaked us out so we left. Since we were home early, I took the boys for haircuts and the barber shop had no customers so we were in and out quickly.

Update on my friend: she started talking to the guy on July 21 and resigned from her job on August 7th to move in with him. He lives with his mom who doesn’t speak a word of English and has an ex wife and a daughter who live in another country.

Cassie dictated this text for my mom to send me: "Mama I love you so much. You are in my heart. Say hello to Dada. How is Lily? So how is your work going? Love Cassie." I'm melting over here.

On another note, just got off the phone with the dermatologist office. The spot they removed from MH was melanoma. So he has to go back and get a larger area removed for safety margins. It was just in the top layer of skin though so he won’t need any further treatment after that. But because of the location (on his temple) they want him to go to a plastic surgeon for it.
