tgrimes, or anyone else, but I know you are the queen of freezer meals... I am trying to eat healthier and breakfast is a big issue for me. I am thinking if I can make some sort of healthy egg muffin thing to freeze and just pop in toaster/microwave while giving the kids breakfast in the AM that would help. Problem is, I am picky... I don't like sausage, peppers or mushrooms which seem to be staple of a lot that I've found. Do you have any good, easy recipes you'd recommend?

Guys my best friend from high school (different friend from last night) just called and told me she’s pregnant!! She’s had three miscarriages in a row and they are going to check to see if her numbers are doubling tomorrow. Can you all send her some sticky baby vibes?

Still no word from the pool company; I called at 10 and the point person I need was "in a client meeting". Over 2 hours later, I'm guessing she's not now. :eyeroll:
I I went out and took some pics of things JIC. I'm going to give them til 1 or so, then call again and threaten to call the owner if I don't hear from someone. I freaking hate this stuff.

That's annoying flamingo. :/ A dud dishwasher was put in our new place. The old one leaked so before we purchased they had to fix it. Well they put in a new one that's not appropriate for the type of counter top at all (the counter overhang blocks the control buttons which are on top and not on the front) and it doesn't wash right. The a-hole former owners did leave a manual but won't give us a receipt. A manual doesn't do us a damn bit of good if we need to return it.

sands42 that sounds really tough, I’m sorry. Is it possible to have a small meeting with his teacher in which you can explain that there have been a lot of changes for G lately and that he’s trying to cope with all of it? And talk about how both parties can help G during this period. Between you and me (well and the rest of this board) I do not like teachers like this. They’re approaching this from the wrong end, they should be thinking about how to approach a child in a way that is helpful to that particular child, instead of identifying ‘problem’ behaviour and throwing their hand up in the air. Seriously sometimes the smallest things can help so much, a sign between a teacher a child, being allowed to plonk in a bean bag for 5 minutes if they’re overwhelmed etc.

The girls are with my parents this week which is for the best because we're having laminate put in (it'll be finished today--it looks beautiful). But I miss them and they're having a tougher time too even though they usually have a blast with my parents and don't even think about us. I think since we've been so busy with the move they are really missing on cuddle time. I'm going to try to get as much of the unpacking done as possible because I want the boxes gone. I'm sick of it. We're almost there. Tonight once the flooring is done we can get the furniture back together upstairs and maybe then we can get some more put away.

nam2013 I like Minimalist Baker (that one is a vegan blog) and Sinnytaste has a lot of great recipes. Last night I made her Greek inspired bowls (and left out the feta) and this morning I made her breakfast summer quinoa and breakfast oatmeal cookies. You're still doing WW, right? She provides the points for all recipes. I remember that I used to love her Beef Barbacoa recipe, too. cagoldi thanks! I’m going to check it out straight away! ETA just did and these look great! This week is planned out, but I’m going to try some next week! She has free weekly meal plans, too.

I'm really sorry sands42. That's tough. Cass is a kid who definitely needs some cuddle time at school and thankfully her teachers have been happy to let her sit with them in the rocking chair for a while. Her summer camp teacher was...not the cuddling type and the couple weeks she went it was rough. People who can't begin to figure out that kids have different needs and you need to approach them differently should not be working with small children.

This was back when we still had the idiot realtor so she didn't specify that when we were going over improvements so I'm sure they put in the cheapest dishwasher ever. So annoying.

Yep, that is probably likely. Some people just suck. My aunt bought a house a few years back and it was stipulated that the owners had to replace the shower door and frame. Instead of replacing it with the finish that matched all the fixtures in the bathroom, they bought the el-cheapo chrome kind. Thanks a lot, dudes. She had to have it redone. We replaced all the appliances in our house in FL, and purchased 5 year extended warranties on everything. The fridge went on the fritz and had to be replaced recently, and the new owner called me and thanked me for leaving those warranties for them. I try to live by the golden rule, "Do unto others..." but sometimes I feel the vast majority of people do not think that way.

I actually have some cooling right now. Add whatever veggies- spinach, tomatoes, whatever. Put in a muffin pan and add egg whites from the carton, spices (I do chili powder, pepper and salt) and bake. Easy, can be microwaved and frozen. You could add cooked meat, cheese, ect if you wanted.

You could just chop a bunch up and put that in instead of peppers/mushrooms. This link has 7 different recipes. sweetpeasandsaffron.com/7-healthy-breakfast-egg-muffins-freezer/ Also, you could always make them healthy with peppers/mushrooms and then eat them with salsa so you wouldn't be able to taste the things you don't like.

I like most other vegies so you're right, I could just substitute spinach/ broccoli, etc. Salsa is a no go b/c I am thinking something I'll heat up then eat in the car.

A girl on N16 is having shoe issues with her LO. I seem to remember some of y'all having similar issues when are kiddos were younger. Can anyone give me some recs for her? See her post below. Speaking of size issues, I bought new Stride Rites for C for the fall and even ordered the wides like he currently wears, but I couldn't get them over his fat feet. His feet aren't necessarily wide but they're fat on top so no matter how much I pulled the tongue out, I couldn't get them on. I have no idea what kind of shoes to get him now or how he'll fit into winter boots.
This is what he's wearing now so they're easy to pull on: www.amazon.com/Stride-Rite-Motion-Antonio-Toddler/dp/B00L5C2GKE
These are the ones I bought and have to return: www.amazon.com/Stride-Rite-Taylor-Sneaker-Toddler/dp/B01NAGYGJX
H had fat feet. I had to get her the xxw stride rites. Whatever pair she gets just make sure they are able to open up pretty wide, like the tongue pulls way back.

flamingo I'm hoping it's just all the changes and he will adjust!! They did let me walk him in today. He still cried but a pickup his teacher told me he participated the rest of the day! nam2013 After getting a couple of those notes I wrote her back and explained everything that has recently gone on in our lives. They've been pretty nice and seem to want to try to help. I was initially annoyed with her telling me I need to chat with him about school.... we have been talking to him and trying different techniques to get him excited about school since day 1. Obviously. inthekitty The drop off/pick up line is required so I can't even see what they are doing to try to help him when they bring him in (aka carrying him crying) the classroom. I really don't like that. It also feels very impersonal because you never see the other students or parents. So, like impossible to connect with their friends/friends parents. Also, can't wait to see pics fo the new floor inthekitty!!

I know it's probably nuts that I still like to use a stroller occasionally, but we were down to just a basic umbrella stroller. I liked having it because sometimes Cass' legs "don't work" so for events with a lot of walking like fairs or festivals I bust it out. Better than carrying 45 lbs of foolishness. So the other day MH went on a motorcycle ride. He said it felt kind of weird and he checked his mirrors but didn't notice anything. 2 miles down the road he finally saw that he was dragging Little Red behind him. (We're weird, my car is Big Red and the stroller was Little Red.) So the stroller is officially dead. The wheel was shredded. We're going to a fair on Labor Day and we take our fairs seriously and are usually there for a couple of hours so the stroller is nice also to hold our stuff. I'll have to be a big kid now and carry a backpack--or make him.

99% sure C has croup. I have a call into the dr, but that usually just has to run it's course, right? He has a fever and the awful cough, but other than that he's happy and FULL of energy.

They are so easy, you can literally put anything you want in them. I’ve done spicy chorizo, cubed ham, meatless. Whatever veggies I’m feeling like at the moment, or no veggies. Cheese or no cheese. Once you have the base “recipe” you can tailor it to your preferences.

I have had both instances with Josie. Once they called in a steroid and once they told us to let it run its course. I think it has to do with the severity of the “bark” and if there’s any stridor in the chest. I brought her in the first time because she was 18 months old I was nervous; I brought her in the second time because they gave me a steroid.l the first time and I thought they’d do it again. Both Advil and Benadryl were helpful without the steroid.

They reconnected on Facebook in June then made plans for her to move before she even went and saw him in person. She has made some very interesting decisions with men in the past so while concerning, this is not really surprising. That is crazy. MH & I reconnected at our reunion & were going to move in with each other after only dating 5 months. We ended up waiting another 6 months but it would have saved us a lot of money if we had just moved in together when we discussed it. That being said, I can understand how she'd feel comfortable with reconnecting with someone she already knew. But...quitting your job and moving to a different state seems sort of extreme. Please live blog this meet up. But the 7 of us going out tonight were always together in high school, like sleepover all weekend long together and none of us remember her even being friends with this guy. We had a class of 800 so I knew of him but probably never spoke a word to him. I will update later.
