lfig, quick question - Tim and I are supposed to go on our annual float trip with our friends next week. How are the rivers doing? Are they up with all the rain lately? Tim was worried about them being low earlier this summer and dealing with dragging the raft. I'm hoping they are up but not too up!

So! There is a silhouette artist who travels around the southeast cutting children's silhouettes in toy shops, baby boutiques, etc. I have wanted to have this done as long as I've had children, so I stalk this guy on FB. I just saw his post that he's coming here an hour after he posted it; I logged on and got the last 2 spots !!!!! Then I realized that is the weekend DH is supposed to take C to his parents'...:sad trombone: So I am going to need him to get up at the a$$-crack of dawn to get back in time so we can do this. I'm sure MIL will be delighted with me. (Of course if he is not back from the boat by then this is all a moot point and I can have silhouettes cut to my heart's content) I'm excited! eta: I realize this is the kind of obscure, old-fashioned thing that 80 y.o.'s get excited about, buuuut consider the source My sisters and I all had silhouettes done when we were little girls. My mom had them framed and on the wall. I loved seeing them! Ha, I love it! See, my children are going to appreciate this some day! (right??)

So MH went to Kroger for formula yesterday and our brand was all on clearance because they aren't going to sell it anymore. So he sent a text to my mom and MIL asking them to check if they went to their Kroger's to see if there was any on clearance. Now we have 25 cans of formula! I'm so excited. My mom and sister found a bunch for 75% off!

Tim was worried about them being low earlier this summer and dealing with dragging the raft. I'm hoping they are up but not too up! What river are you going to? We are doing pretty good. Of course there are stretches of our rivers that are “thinner” and not prime for floating right now. But we also have stretches that are plenty floatable. Whoever you are renting from should have a pretty good idea of the good stretches. They typically won’t put you in their equipment on an area that is too low because they don’t want their stuff tore up. You definitely shouldn’t have to worry about them being too up. Although we’ve had some good rain, we were sooo dry that it’s not been an issue.

Anyone else see this? Mom shamed for daughter's dog-walking What do y'all think? I guess it depends on the neighborhood and kid, but darn, if the police and CPS show up b/c I let my 8 y.o. walk the dog on our street, I'm going to have a few choice words. I would think an 8 year old would be responsible enough to walk to school alone and play outside alone so I think it’s bs.

Just hoofed it down to return some stuff and Athleta accepted a top that MH gave me for Christmas at full price 🙌. I was sure they wouldn't and I'd have to keep it and wear it even though I really didn't like it. It's also kind of hot out and now I'm sweating at my desk.

Yes, it's gorgeous out here, but warming up. Supposed to be back in the 90s over the weekend. Not delightful. We have an Athleta store here (we may have had one in FL, I just avoided the mall where that stuff would be like the plague) but I've never been in. I should probably check it out.

What a win!

Although we’ve had some good rain, we were sooo dry that it’s not been an issue. We are floating the Niangua river. We usually have a few places we have to walk the raft through each year, I'm just hoping it will not be the whole darn way this year since it was so dry. The float already takes all day as the river is not fast at all. I just don't want it to end up torturous.... especially with me being sober this year lol.

It's pricey, but they have some decent sales (and carry tall!). It's probably more athleisure than your typical style, but they have some cute stuff that is pretty neutral to be dressed up or down. I think the Lululemon head designer went there and did wonders for them.

Oh and I forgot 1) cagoldi, do you see that X has other sensory type issues besides the lack of eating? I saw you said the other day he ate a popsicle, has he started eating anything else since you started therapy? 2) lahdeedah, tgrimes, nam2013 how are your little sick ones? Yes, I do see other things that make me think he is sensory sensitive, but rising to the level of requiring additional therapies? I'm not sure.

I’m at DD’s gymnastics private lesson with the baby for the next hour and then we are taking the kids to the boardwalk. I never get to see her practice because usually I have to push her out of the car and head to the next thing but the gym is closed so I’m not leaving her alone with 1 male coach. She’s come a long way this summer and I can’t wait for her to start competing next month.
When I had my first kid, I was definitely helicopter mom. Now I’m very relaxed. My first kid is my nervous nelly and my others are much more relaxed. I told my big guy to go in and buy bagels while I sat in the car with the little kids yesterday. He was scared but then my 8 year old offered so they went together. He wanted to know if he should lie if they asked if he was 21. I was cracking up as I explained that he did not need to be 21 to purchase bagels.

Busy morning! I had preschool parent meeting at 9, where I found out I had to individually label each of H’s crayons and markers. Not impressed, but it’s done. Then I got an oil change and after that I was shopping for picture stuff. I found some cute booties for me and a button up for DH at Kohl’s, a dress for S at old navy and the only thing I have left to figure out is the shoe situation for the girls. I have some boots that might work for S, but I need to try them on her otherwise I will need to pick some up. I should not have waited till the last minute, lol. This afternoon is preschool open house and then DH has a fantasy football draft this evening. vino ouch! I hope B heals quickly. mskatiep yayay! Congrats! What is your due date?

We had the ice cream truck visit the office today. In all the years we've had him come, this was the first time we ended up with a beautiful day. I told everyone to hang out and order seconds because I didn't feel like going back inside right away. It was glorious.

mskatiep Congrats on a great visit! You are a trooper to go floating while pregnant. So. Many. Drunk. People. I'd have said no way to going this summer! H still feels up to going to the game tonight, so I'm going to leave work soon (I didn't work a full 8 hour day all week), go by the liquor store to take a small cooler with us, and then pick up a co-worker and his wife. His wife was a bitch at our Christmas party and when I took him to the ER because he was having heart issues, so hopefully tonight is better, otherwise I will have to drink heavier than normal.

trtlcrzy, Due date is Jan 9, so I'm just a tiny bit over halfway. mwhip, I've gone back and forth about going. Mostly because drunk people are super annoying when you aren't allowed to drink with them. But, I love floating the river and it is always a good time with our friends.
