tgrimes, I'm sorry. Hopefully, you'll be able to get back into it in the near future.

tgrimes that must have been hard, I’m sorry. Any chance you can start introducing dance a bit more back in to your life?

tgrimes , I must have missed it before, what was your dream job that you turned down? After M was born, my friend became ill so I taught some, staged their Nutcracker and did their spring show to help out. When he passed, at first they offered for me to be the full time ballet teacher. Then they offered me the studio.

While I partake in the Fitbit challenges, I'm not really trying yet. I mostly use my Fitbit for the silent alarm and keeping track of my water intake recently.

I'm sorry that you had to turn that down. It's so hard to make these big life decisions when you have so many people to consider.

tgrimes it's hard giving up on a dream. Hopefully when the kids get older you can pick up dancing again.

I’m sorry tgrimes. I often wondered how you felt about that decision. Do you think you would ever want to own your own dance studio?

It drives me crazy how crappy the vegetarian options are at a lot of restaurants, and that's not even considering vegan options. Most of the salads have meat and they don't reduce the overly inflated price for some raw veggies tossed together when you omit that. I won't ever go back to eating beef. Pork grosses me out. The smell of it makes me want to gag. I eat a little turkey, chicken, and salmon. While it doesn't thrill me do to so and I consider going full vegetarian sometimes, I also enjoy the occasional turkey sandwich and the girls like turkey so it's always a huge plus when I find something else they'll eat that's easy to prep. Plus I guess I feel less guilty about it that I eat very little meat in the whole circle of life thing. I feel like humans are omnivores and I'm not straying too far in the carnivore realm and wrecking havoc on the planet (don't misread me, I don't give one thought to others doing this, my husband loves meat, it's my own personal dilemma).

The owner of DD’s gym always tells me if I don’t go back to teaching, I can do the daytime pre-k classes at the gym. I loved doing team but the hours would never work now.

peachsmama FWIW I think you should make whatever decision you can live with. And I don't mean that like "how could you live with yourself if you eat animals?!" Quality of life is important, too, and cooking separate meals for everyone is really tough.

Well this was fun! Team No Sex Drive after baby. I thought it would NEVER come back, but it did after a year or so. I like TTC sex a LOT for the first three months or so. After that? It's just a marathon of thermometers, OPK's, and inconvenient timing. Can you tell we're in the thick of it at the moment? We have no trouble conceiving except after miscarriage, which really sucks. We have a great marriage. Good balance of responsibility. Help each other out. Lots of fun together. Great sex life. The oldest says we're addicted to each other. I think that's nice. BUT! I still plan for life without him. I can't imagine that we'd ever divorce, but death is such an uncertainty. I'd sell my house, use life insurance to buy a condo and new vehicle outright, and then my two biggest expenses would be accounted for. If those were taken care of, I could work as adjunct faculty somewhere and still pay the bills. I also plan for a no insurance contingency, just because I'm a planner and like to have all my bases covered, but there's a reason I insisted on a decent insurance policy. I really don't want to take a high octane position in my field. My colleagues compare tenure track positions to medical residencies.

inthekitty re: humans are omnivorous, of course that's true. It should be a given that doesn't need to be said but I see plenty of vegans insist we are true herbivores. Yikes. It's so embarrassing. Like, relax, people. Some of us can survive and thrive without eating animals, some can't. That's a fact. And conceding that doesn't invalidate any ethical concerns, weirdos. Not a confession but this whole family being weird about the diet thing reminded me to tell you that my grandma is messing with me, my sister, and my mom from behind the grave. Apparently she insisted on having chicken panini at her memorial service lunch and said, "April, Traci, and Autumn can pick off the chicken." I guess nobody told her it doesn't work like that nor did they mention we can't eat the cheese, anyway. Looks like we'll want to grab Sofritas on the way.
