Friday fright

My neighbor just texted me about a half an hour ago that the last two mornings she's had a bear in her yard heading right toward ours. I can't tell you how excited/terrified I am!
In other news. I have a long overdue haircut at 10, and nothing else on the agenda.

We all slept until 8. Now for some reason we're all laying shoulder to shoulder in Matthew's twin bed lol. It's supposed to rain all day so idk what we'll do. I have some work to do.

Morning! I'm at work today. Yesterday was insane, so I'm hoping for a slightly quieter day today. I think I have a girls night tonight which should be fun!

guster Bears aren't a thing here...I'd be scared to death to let my dogs or kid outside knowing there was one around!

So glad it's Friday. H will be home today after being out all week, which typing that just reminded me I forgot to set turkey breast out for dinner, so I guess I'll be stopping at the store on the way home.

I'm super annoyed with this day. A supplier is coming in today, that no one actually told me about until this morning, but I know our CEO will expect me to sit in on the meeting. And somehow, people only became aware of a big price difference between said supplier and a second source yesterday, although the quotes were sent out in May, and people are losing their freaking minds. Does no one pay attention? So I have a feeling I will be in multiple meetings, which pisses me off since there is NOTHING on my calendar now.

Good morning. I’m going to a friend’s this afternoon. DS1 was grumpy because my friend has 2 girls roughly DD and T’s ages. Lucky for him, his friend’s dad just invited him bowling. Tomorrow we have a bbq at my cousin’s then Sunday we are hosting DS1’s preseason hockey team meeting/bbq. It’s going to start raining tomorrow and rain forever so 14 middle school hockey players and their families at my house will be super. DD has outdoor soccer camp next week too and the weather is suppose to suck.

I had an early rheumatologist appointment this morning to get the results of my scans from last time--good news, no signs of damage to my ankle! So apparently we caught it super early and as long as I keep taking my meds (that I was already on for skin), I should be good for the time being.

I brought home donuts, and DH headed off for his typical half-day Friday. I have a hair appointment at 2 for a cut and fresh highlights.

N is still asleep but DH is home with us today so when he gets back from his appointment we will bring beer to our contractor (my cousin) and then take N mini putting.

Morning! E had a good night. LO and C are still asleep. When E woke up at 2a she was super smiley and was cooing, it was super cute. If C wasn't asleep I would have turned on the lights and recorded it.

DH took C to school today which was nice. C also got up and got dressed all by himself this morning and got his breakfast. It was really great. I love how independent he is sometimes. If only he would snuggle a little bit...


I'm leaving work at noon today and going to lunch and Macy's with my mom. They are having a big sale and I have $120 in return credits to use. DH needs work shirts so I'll pick up a couple but I'm hoping I find something for me too.

guster - The bears around here will usually run away at the slightest noise. Clapping is my go-to when I'm running and there's an animal in my path or in the woods closeby. That's usually enough to send anything running.

And hiii! I'm going away next weekend for an abbreviated girls' weekend so I'm really looking forward to some time with the boys this weekend. Colin has golf and a birthday party and we'd like to get them to the trail at some point as well. I'd love to spend a day in the backyard and on the deck, but I haven't even looked at the weather yet.

Also school starts in 5-6 weeks and I'm kind of freaking out. I'm so glad that they keep the kindergarteners isolated from the older kids but I still worry about Colin. He's such a sensitive kiddo...

I have used Johnson & Johnson detangler and the HEB brand.  I use the WET brand comb, then spray hair with water & the detangler before attempting to brush.

I think we might go to the zoo tomorrow. We have a zoo nearby that's smaller and has really great enclosures for the animals so I feel less guilty about it but still have some. They also have a splash pad and a playground so that is enticing.

Hi friends! Sorry, I have been here and there. It’s so hard for me to get a chance to get on at work and then when I am home at night, I get so preoccupied w kids and stuff around the house.

klong11, we just have the suave kids detangler and it works well for L. I've only used it on wet hair though. I didn't realize you can use it on dry (if that's what you're looking for).

Morning Ladies! Today is my kids' last day of VBS, so we will be going to their performance and picnic this afternoon. Re: the religious aspect of it...our church is pretty inclusive/progressive and vocal about social issues, which is how I am able to feel comfortable bringing my kids there. We also explain that people have lots of different beliefs about religion and Christianity is just one of those. There are things that are problematic for me that come up, but we try and use those as opportunities to open a discussion.

Doing my grocery pickup and Theo is requesting donuts. Sounds like a great idea to me 😊

We use the Johnson & Johnson "No more tangles" and a Wet brush. Game changers.
