@klongoria, do you condition C’s hair? I just started using conditioner on B bc I couldn’t take all the knots any more. I still use a detangler too. I’ve used several kid brands and haven’t found anything great. RN I’m using Cantu Kids on her.

Glad to hear it, flamingo! @klongoria, I use either the johnson and Johnson spray detangler or the leave in conditioner for Josie's hair.

guster - The bears around here will usually run away at the slightest noise. Clapping is my go-to when I'm running and there's an animal in my path or in the woods closeby. That's usually enough to send anything running. Good tip!!

Also school starts in 5-6 weeks and I'm kind of freaking out. I'm so glad that they keep the kindergarteners isolated from the older kids but I still worry about Colin. He's such a sensitive kiddo... This is why I'm still torn on Josie. Socially she's great, but the emotional component pushes me to believe she needs the next year to mature.

I may need to take over bathing duties until she starts doing it herself. This is the detangler we are using now and it just isn't cutting it. I don't know what the girl does at night but she wakes up looking like the bride of frankenstein.

@klongoria, branding at night also helps us, but Josie already has a wavy texture so the braid's waves (when I take it out) just adds to its.

Pulling from the confessions thread (I'm too scared to ask over there) are your kids wiping themselves? Cadence still calls one of us to do it and I don't know who is doing it for her at school, although most of the time she doens't poop at school.

Why did I have to have a curly haired child. I have no idea what to do with curly hair.

At school she wipes herself, but she doesn't always do a good job and I usually have to toss the panties.

She will wipe when she just goes potty, but when it's number 2, she yells for me to come in. I keep telling her when she starts school, she has to do it herself. So now she will attempt to wipe herself first, then I come in and check to make sure she is good.

We also use conditioner nightly, then the wet brush. If her hair is tangly the next morning, usually water and her Wet brush are good, but I do have the Aussie detangler that I'll use if necessary. She also knows that if she keeps her hair pulled up all day, it gets must fewer tangles, resulting in less fights over brushing.

I just sped read to see if lfig checked in or anyone asked. I see there is some freak boat accident in Missouri and want to make sure she is ok. Check in when you can lfig . She's a few hours from where the accident occurred, so neither her or her husband were involved. We have talked about it in the Thursday thread.

That someone shot of the boat, trying to get through the storm. I don't understand people shooting video instead of hanging up and calling the police. Or taking video of something that dangerous, without thinking there are other actions they should be taking. Watching the video about made me sick...the horror those people had on that boat, I don't even want to begin to image.

I used to work at day cares in my younger years...when parents would bring their kids in like that I would eye roll and judge them for bringing their sick kid in....then I became a working mom. I have a whole new perspective on it now. Lol!

I was just lurking but was kind of surprised by some answers here and there, TBH. B wipes himself. Every once in a while I'll find some dirty unds but for the most part he does a decent job.

He will do it by himself at school but there will be some marks on his underwear. He use to attempt at home and have one of us check but since my parents have watched him he is now asking us to do it for him.

I try to make M practice wiping himself at home. He always calls for us, but I'll make him wipe once or twice, then I'll wipe behind him to make sure we got it all. I mostly want him to know how to get tissue and hold it while wiping so if he ever has to do it at school, he doesn't get it on his hands. He usually poops right before he gets in the bath every night. He will only poop in the middle of the day occasionally.

Friday! Hi, I’m wfh and trying to pack to leave for ILs this afternoon. We haven’t seen them since Memorial Day so it should actually be a good weekend. FIL rented a boat tomorrow so it will be nice to have something to do rather than just sit at their house like usual. N is tons excited to see them. We are just staying for the weekend but then the kids are going again next weekend and staying by themselves for a few days just because. Yay!

N usually wipes herself but she’s had some tummy troubles lately so has been asking for us to wipe.
We use Johnson and Johnson detangler and wet brush too. I use detangler every day even tho her hair isn’t too bad. She insists on it. I’m going to try making my own sometime with conditioner and water since we seem to go through it so fast.
