Question about morning wake ups: Do you guys let your LO(s) wake up on their own or so you wake them up at a specific time each day? Since I still SAH there usually isn't a reason she has to be up at a certain time so we let her wake up on her own. Which usually is about an hour before the alarm goes off for MH to get ready for work, lol. The other day we had to be out the door relatively early and had to wake her up in the morning and she was NOT amused! (which made us laugh, bad bad parents lol!)
We try to keep a bit of a schedule when it comes to bedtime, and I also try to have more or less fixed lunch snack and dinnertimes. But maybe that's more for my own benefit then hers lol? I dunno. Usually when we put her to bed she wakes up an hour later, and sometimes once more, before settling for a longer bit of sleep. We recently gone from umpty wake ups throughout the night to just two or three so I hope this means better times are ahead of us. We've tried keeping her up later, or put her to bed earlier, etc but it doesn't really seem to make a difference. The biggest difference I can tell is when her last nap is too late in the afternoon, then bedtime is a true mess.

I totally get that. I can't believe you aren't going to tell anyone though! I knew you had said you were pregnant but didn't want to ask how it is going. My dh keeps saying we should get on birth control since we aren't but I'm like it took us 4 rounds of ivf to get j but I do know several people who went through ivf then got surprise pregnant after that. I think it's because we don't think we can get pregnant...you know? Anyone here thinking about TFAS? Funny you should ask. We were done at 2, had just decided to figure out what to do with our embryos and then I got pg out of no where! I am still getting used to the idea and we aren't telling family until the kid is born if I can help it. I am due Jan 13 and go for the NT scan on July 9. If that is clear I may consider telling someone IRL but I doubt I will. I hate to complain because I wanted babies for so long and couldn't do it, I have friends on round 4 of IVF and no baby and here I am like a real person knocked up by mistake. It is a weird set of emotions I was not prepared for. And financially we are so fucked....

Ideally I'd have her down for the night between around 8 latest, then wake up once at like 2am and then sleeps on through till like 7. LOL I'd be able to have some me time at night, go to bed around 10 and get a proper amount of sleep as well. One day maybe???

Crazy yellowcat! Mixed bag of emotions, I’m sure but congrats. You’ll make it work. My bff who has 3 said the 3rd was the easiest transition out of all of them, if that helps. 😁

So it's official...j says mama. He looks around, smiles, and says it now. DH said yesterday while I was gone he was crawling around yelling it. Melts my heart.

Any 1st birthday outfit suggestions? I have an aqua lace romper that T wore. I think R’s red hair will look good in it? It’s the aqua one in this: etsy.me/2Mz9tLy

Guys! It’s been two weeeks since we got a STTN but he did it last night! So wonderful! Dh and I are both sick as dogs right right now thanks to N who had a cold for 3 days. And dh has his long shift today, and I’m on day 5 of 5 days in a row totaling working 52 hours in a row, and I went to bed as early as I could (10:30) and I woke up at 5:30! I feel so tired but so rested, too. I mean I could easily sleep another 57 hours but thank god this kid STTN. Just when we are about to break he gives us a good night. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

So I wonder.. how do you all keep your kid from ripping the sunhat off of their heads the second it is on??

yellowcat Congrats! I would be having tons of mixed emotions too. muscari Haha, yeah keeping the hat on is often difficult. Ours has a strap but she still rips it off. There are some good iPlay ones that have a tie around the back of the head that keeps it on pretty well.

It is too hot- I’m having flashbacks to living in Florida. DS wants to be running around outside but it is too much for me and DD. Plus what do you do with the baby outside who just wants to be crawling/cruising on everything but also loves eating anything not food? I want to skip to the walking phase where she can actually play and not just be trying to eat grass/dirt/wood mulch/etc.
Neither of them are sleeping well either so I just want to hide inside and nap. 😴

addymac I hope you feel better but yay N!!! muscari we put the strap under J chin when we put the hat on. We are off on our trip . DH couldn't find his car keys so that was 40 minutes of freaking out, running aroumd, panic. We finally left and j will usually nap 1.5 hours in the car..nope 30 minutes and he is up so we have our first stop 1 hour into a 4 hour trip. I hope we don't have to stop every hour .

pennylane j is in the same place. He crawls and cruises and eats everything. We have to watch him every second. His new favorite is to try and eat my shoes which is disgusting.

Well j just took a 2 hour car nap We are 50 miles from our destination. He's changed and fed and I'm handing him toys. Hopefully we can go the last 50 miles without too many tears.

king26 2hr nap? That’s awesome. Hope the last stretch went well! N loves shoes. It’s a battle to constantly be hiding shoes from him so he doesn’t put them in his mouth. Oof. I’m getting so sleepy. Only 4.5hrs left of my five day 52h work stretch. I can do this. 😴

She doesn't have a lot of hair still so I worry about sunburn! And I can't really put sunlotion on her head cause for that she does have too much hair lol.

Re the TFAS thing. We are pretty much OADNBC thanks to IF. BUT well, in theory there ís this slight chance that we could have another.. either as a natural miracle (cause we all know that even when we think it is impossible, sometimes apperently it IS possible!) or via ICSI again. All things considered however - IF/my DOR and POF and recurrent MC, Asherman's (pretty sure my adhesions are baaaack, shit), our age, uncertain whether we're emotionally able to go through IVF again, PgAL/PAIF brain, a somewhat traumatic 3rd trim and birth experience, my PPD- I realized that maybe it was just for the best to be OAD. DH always had said he'd be fine with just the one, but I always envisioned our family to be one of 4, maybe even 5 (hah, yeah, that joke was definitely on me heh), so this realization was an adjustement. But I really don't think I want to put my family through another bout of PPD, for instance..
So 2 months ago orso we decided we were OAD. I was even considering to get my tubes tied, which feels ridiculous for someone with DOR ánd POF but well I just couldn't deal with the posibility of a surprise pregnancy either, to much of a mindf*ck for me. But now the other day we were talking about pregnancy announcements happening all around us and that even though I'm okay with being OAD (or getting there anyway) they were making my heart hurt a bit. That seeing siblings together make me sad cause D will never have that. Stuff like that. And MH surprised me by saying that perhaps we should just let it go and NTNP. I said I worried about PPD and all and he hugged me and saidhe thought we'd be fine and we'd deal somehow. And that another one may actually be real nice. So now my thoughts and feelings are all over the place again.
So now we decided to give it a few months still before making a final decision. I do think that there hás to be a moment where we make a final final decision though. Cause I need that peace of mind, one way or another, so I can move on to the next stage of my family life. Or something.

Well j did good. He was up for the last hour of the ride but I just kept handing him toys and snacks and it worked. However he's been up.since 1 and refused an afternoon nap. He's been so good all day but is currently a mess and mad as he'll he has to.sleep in the pack n plqy. I think he is finally falling asleep. Fingers crossed. Otherwise it went better then I hoped so I expect the ride home to be a complete disaster.
