I wish I had to wake him up but he's up between 530 and 615 everyday Question about morning wake ups: Do you guys let your LO(s) wake up on their own or so you wake them up at a specific time each day?

We let our kids wake up on their own unless we have to go somewhere. T always got 11-12 hours at night and was up by 7am in the morning. R gets a little less most night and is usually up by 6am.
R went to bed last night at 5pm. I thought it was a third nap, but she slept through. I think she’s working on going down to two naps - but, she fights the third nap/bedtime despite being super fussy.

J has woken up twice at night the last 2 nights. He's also fighting bedtime which has never happened. Usually he happily goes down. The past 2 nights he's cried himself to sleep. Then he's up at 530. I'm exhausted. What the heck is going on?

Thanks guys. I’m trying to think things through. N goes to bed between 9-9:30. Our nanny was trying to get him on a set schedule bc she figured it’d make life easier and help him STTN. So she was waking hi up around 7/7:15 every day. On our days off I usually let him sleep til 8ish bc that’s when I wake up if he hasn’t woken me up earlier. I’m wondering if we should be letting him sleep til whenever he wants and then plan the day around that days wake up vs waking him up and maybe that would help him STTN?
Idk. I just don’t know.

Yeah I know they say consistency can help but unless I needed to bring her somewhere I just can’t see myself waking her up lol. She goes down on the later side at night like N but the wakeups are so inconsistent. She is usually up around 6:45-7:30 for the day though regardless. I just don’t have a good answer either.

I think I would be giddy with excitement if M went to bed at 5:00, even just once! 🤣

We just got back from a weekend road trip to visit my ILs new house.. and now I’m dealing with 2 kids readjusting to being at home in a normal routine. It’s crazy. Yesterday DD only took one 30 minute nap and then passed out for the night at 6pm (with a handful of wake ups overnight). I’m so tired this morning.

addymac, how many naps is he taking? Id let him wake up on his own unless you needed to go somewhere, as long as he’s going to bed easily. Does your nanny want him up for any other reason besides consistency? A wakes up between 6-7 (mostly on the early 6 side), so he’s usually waking me up. Lol

Not as bad as other leaps, but definitely noticeable.

Lol Mainly consistency and to have a set nap schedule and also so we can plan outings and sign him up for classes or take him to classes that are at set times that usually end up being during nap time. 🤷🏻♀️

I think J is trying to say mama. Seriously. If I leave the room he starts yelling Ma,Ma, Ma, Ma. When he does something he's proud of he giggles, says the same thing, and looks at me. I may be nuts but DH also thinks he's trying to get mama out.

I don't wake E unless we have somewhere to go. I just plan the day based on when she wakes up. Usually she's up between 5:45 and, if I'm lucky, 7. Lately it's been 6-6:30.

Anyone here thinking about TFAS? Our only chance would be the 1 embryo we have frozen but that would not be anytime soon.

Anyone here thinking about TFAS? We are done with our 2. My brother and his wife had kids 18 or 19 months apart. It was definitely busy, especially the first few months, but it's manageable!

At dinner last night j threw up all over himself, me, and the high chair DH was out of town. Trying to get our clothes off and us into the tub sucked. He then wouldn't eat his bedtime bottle. I hope he's ok. He woke up at 11 and had a bottle and is up laying on me now.

king26. Oh no. I hope J feels better soon and that it's not contagious. I think he could totally have his first real word as mamama at this age. So exciting!! Baby h says his uncle's name a ton but doesn't associate it with his uncle, so I'm not counting it as a word! addymac Baby h wakes on his own around 6:30 to 7, which fortunately is when he needs to wake up for daycare, but he goes to bed 7:45-8. Unless it precludes you from spending time with N, I might try moving his bedtime up 15 minutes or so a night and then he should eventually wake earlier. However, I will say that my ds1 still won't go to bed before 9-10 and has always been that way (and may be that way till he starts school) @starzia Dh and I talk about ttc alot but aren't there yet. Maybe in the fall or spring. I'm 35 this year. Before we got married, we always hoped for three kids. Baby h is such a sweet, non-demanding soul that I want to give him his full time as youngest, especially if we are blessed to have #3 and he/she turns out with ds1's more intense personality. Dh and I are both the middle of five so we're paranoid about baby h being the forgotten middle child despite our best efforts. Baby h claps now and does "so big" on his own. I love it so much!

Well j seemed ok this monring. He was happy and giggly. He drank 5 oz. Formula at 6am and was fine. Tried to feed him oatmeal for breakfast at 8 and he threw it up everywhere. The doctor said just do formula all day today.

king26 kinda sounds like the same bug N had last week. He chugged milk but solids were 🤮. I hope he feels better soon. thinkchocolate05 yeah we like to keep his bedtime 9-9:30 bc we don’t get home til 8 some days and then we get maybe an hour with him. Idk what to do. Last night was a disaster. He fell asleep easily and quickly at 9:20 and then woke up around 12:30. Dh fed him 3oz. And then at 12:50 he was up and would not. Fall. Asleep. Until 4:45. I am dead. I finally put him in his crib at 4:20 and just made him cry it out bc I couldn’t handle it anymore. He went between eating. Then falling asleep but kept waking up and crying. Then howling. Then walking around worked. Then it didn’t. Rocking didn’t help. Leaving him in his crib didn’t help. We went and sat in the living room. He fell asleep and then would wake up and screech. Tried to read our bedtime books. Nope. Then he was just wide awake like it was 3pm in the afternoon. I don’t even know. I am DRAGGING today at work. I just want to pass out. Omfg.

I don’t know what I’m doing. Just thinking and feeling impatient I was just messing with ya 😘 I go back and forth. I firmly want to enjoy N as an only kid for several years so if we have another it’ll be awhile. I honestly don’t know if I want a whole nother kid. I miss the baby snuggles. And feeling a baby kick inside me but I don’t think that’s reason enough to have a baby lol. Dh is firmly in the wanting a second. We will see.

addymac How long did the no solids last? I hope N does better tonight. Someone told me separation anxiety gets bad at 10 months so maybe that's it? J has been fighting bedtime and waking up multiple times again as well so....who knows. I'm sorry N stayed up foe 4 hours though ...that sucks. I made DH get up with j 2 nights ago and he was gone for an hour but I was too tired. Do u and DH switch on and off for wake ups?

O M G addymac, I'm so sorry! What a nightmare night!! I think I would legit cry being up all night like that. Oof. I hadn't even thought about separation anxiety until just now when king26 mentioned it. M has been super clingy to me mostly but MH too and acting more apprehensive around all people so its maybe from that.

Then got a 20min nap despite his wails that started when I handed him to DH 😒 bc hi searation anxiety / preferring mommy all. The. Time. Then I sent dh to bed at like 3:45. I felt terrible bc dh didn’t get home from work til 10:30 and had to be back at the hospital by 6:30 so it was just sucky for everyone. Ugh I believe it. The second I come home this kid wants me to hold him. He grabs onto my legs and doesn’t let go. If I pick him up it’s game over on putting him down. I put him in our old baby Bjorn the other day bc I was so over not having arms to use to make dinner lol. 🤦🏻♀️.
