addymac How long did the no solids last? I hope N does better tonight. Someone told me separation anxiety gets bad at 10 months so maybe that's it? J has been fighting bedtime and waking up multiple times again as well so....who knows. I'm sorry N stayed up foe 4 hours though ...that sucks. I made DH get up with j 2 nights ago and he was gone for an hour but I was too tired. Do u and DH switch on and off for wake ups? We do switch. We did last night. I did 1-3! Then got a 20min nap despite his wails that started when I handed him to DH 😒 bc hi searation anxiety / preferring mommy all. The. Time. Then I sent dh to bed at like 3:45. I felt terrible bc dh didn’t get home from work til 10:30 and had to be back at the hospital by 6:30 so it was just sucky for everyone. Ugh I believe it. The second I come home this kid wants me to hold him. He grabs onto my legs and doesn’t let go. If I pick him up it’s game over on putting him down. I put him in our old baby Bjorn the other day bc I was so over not having arms to use to make dinner lol. 🤦🏻♀️. Man I hope tonite is better for you guys. Holy shit with the constant holding too, my arms are dead. She is usually a hot mess too when I get home from work and CANNOT put her down

addymac yes to preferring mommy. It's killing DH because he wants to hold him and such and j is fine with that unless he's upset then he only wants me. I think it's partially because I'm home now all day with him when before it was DH with him all day. Uhh I'm sorry even with switching off it was still a rough night. That makes it hard.

I've had J in the ring sling for hours the past week because my arms are hurting from carrying him. I hope this phase passes quickly

So sorry for the rough night addymac! I hope it’s fluke. And king26, hope J keeps the formula down ok. A had a day or two like that before, I just nursed as often as he’d take a stopped solids for a couple days.

Add me to the “want mama only” group. A is obsessed. Lol MH tries to distract him so I can do whatever I was doing, mostly chores 😆, but if he sees or hears me it’s game over.

I completely missed this thread, my in-laws have been staying at my house since Monday and I am ready to kill them all. The first two days they had the balls to wait for me to get home from work and make them dinner. And they didn't even feed the kids dinner. Wtf! The whole point of their visit was to help with the kids while we had a busy work week. I lost my shit on MH who gets home an hour after me and the next day they ordered food.

Thanks guys. I’m trying to think things through. N goes to bed between 9-9:30. Our nanny was trying to get him on a set schedule bc she figured it’d make life easier and help him STTN. So she was waking hi up around 7/7:15 every day. On our days off I usually let him sleep til 8ish bc that’s when I wake up if he hasn’t woken me up earlier. I’m wondering if we should be letting him sleep til whenever he wants and then plan the day around that days wake up vs waking him up and maybe that would help him STTN? Idk. I just don’t know. I have tried both with my kids and it honestly hasn't mattered. My 2 year old rarely naps and will still be up until 10 some days and wake up at 6:30 in the morning.

addymac clearly my child doesn't sttn but we plan the day based on wake time rather than a set schedule because we tried the set schedule and it didn't work. When he wakes up he has 3 hours before first nap. He goes down without any fuss. Then he goes between 3.5 and 4 hours in between first and second nap. He goes to bed between 730 and 8 depending on what time he last woke up. Usually it's around 4 hours from waking from his last nap. I always tell people he is usually up between 11 and 2 and after 430 so those are good times to visit and when we plan things . Sometimes he is up 10 to 2 sometimes it's 11 to 3 so it just depends.

Thanks, ladies. I think we’re going through the 8/9/10mo sleep regression. He fits almost all the symptoms to a T. Woof.

Omg J went to bed at 7 and is up now. He was screaming poor guy. I took him to the kitchen to make a bottle and he peed all over both of us. I go onto our bedroom to get new clothes and DH asks what s wrong. I tell him and he tells j it will be ok then rolls over. A little help please???? J then proceeds to scream while I change us both and I see DH on his phone in our bedroom. I may sleep in here with j for a while.

king26 oh man! That’s awful. I’m sorry. I would have gone back to bed and “accidentally” elbowed dh in the head. Not cool, man. N was a mess again sort of. Went to bed at 8:30 bc he wouldn’t nap and was so tired. Then was up at 9:30, 9:45, and 10:50. At 10:50 I got him back to sleep but apparently fell aslee with him, which was fine with me bc he was sleeping but kept doing little wake ups that I’d shush and he’d fall back asleep. Then it was 3am. Screaming again. I finally dropped him off in his crib and he cried it out and passed out and is still quiet. So better / more sleep than yesterday but I’m so fucking wiped out. I need freakin coffee.

We've had a rough few nights of sleep here too. It's a phase and it will pass but oof a solid even 6 hours sounds incredible.

Seriously...why won't these baboes sleep? I feel like every other month we have sleep issues again. When do the sleep issues stop? 3, 4, 5 years old??

He's too big for naps (his idea, not mine) and has lately decided 5:15 is a perfectly acceptable time to start the day. So...I think maybe never?

I have a question for you ladies who have gone swimming with the little ones. We're going away next week for 4 days and there'll be both an outdoor as an indoor pool. Hoping the weather will be nice enough to go to the outdoor one, I'm thinking one of those UV protection swimsuits is the way to go? I suppose that would work for the inside pool as well?? Maybe I'm just really daft but I figured I'd ask lol. Do you have a preference?? Swimming daipers.. I got the huggies swimmers. I just put those on under the swimsuit right?
How long can they be in the water for?? We're thinking of getting her one of those baby floats so she can splash around without us being on constant 300% awareness of her not drowning LOL (obviously we won't take our eyes off of her but still). Are they as fun/nice/comfi/safe as I think and hope they are??

Sleep remains a mystery here too. Last night she went to bed at 9:45 and never heard a peep till 7:00 this morning 🙌🙌 this is not typical!
We are headed to the beach this weekend and she has never slept in the pack n play so I’m sure everything will be f’ed up 🤷🏻♀️

muscari, UV protection suit is a good idea! I still lathered him in sunscreen though because he's so pale like his dad. It works for indoors or outdoors! diapers - correct! I was advised to not let them hang out in them for too long - like if you see her making her poop face (is it just N who has an "I'm going poop" face??) then change it quickly b/c they don't last as long as regular diapers. But yeah - instead of a reg diaper throw the swim one on, then the suit and she is good to go! I think they can be in the water as long as they want - if it's a heated pool. If the water is really cold i'd probably not let them be in for too long. Floaty thing- we had one in florida and noah LOVED being able to sit in the water and it was fun for us to not be just holding him and could look at him and play with him without holding him. When we went to the hotel pool this weekend, we were both bummed we hadn't thought to buy him one for ourselves (DH's mom had the one in Florida) HAVE FUN!!!!

This is us. We are going away Sunday through Tuesday and j has to sleep in the PNP. Now he did sleep in it when he was 3 and 4 months old but I doubt he remembers it. We haven't been anywhere over night yet so im.worried. Sleep remains a mystery here too. Last night she went to bed at 9:45 and never heard a peep till 7:00 this morning 🙌🙌 this is not typical! muscari we have the uv suit with long sleeves for J. We also have the huggies little swimmers. He didn't poop in it so no clue how ling it lasts. My 21 month old niece pooped in here while we were with them and they got her out of it and in to a fresh one right away.

addymac and king26 thanks for the diaper info! addymac i hope D likes that swim thing as much as nN (&yes she makes a poopface too hah!). She loves to splash in her tub so hopefully the pool will be a hit too. As for sleeping... i haven't thought about whether or not she will sleep well while away. I just hope it will be fine lol. We rented a cottage, crib and highchair included so hopefully it will be similar to at home. Where she had been sleeping with me half nights regularly often lately as well lol oops as it sometimes is the only way for us all to get some sleep. I feel this phase is worse than any other sleep regression we have had?? For the past 2h i have been trying to get her to sleep. She only justnow passed out .... diagonally across my chest suctioned to my boob... Good thing i already changed into my jammies. Lol

It's 2 piece. The top is long sleeves and the bottoms are swim trucks. I have another one that is shirt sleeve and swim trucks I'll use for indoor swimming. king26 btw does your uv suit for J have long legs or short ones?

Anyone here thinking about TFAS? Funny you should ask. We were done at 2, had just decided to figure out what to do with our embryos and then I got pg out of no where! I am still getting used to the idea and we aren't telling family until the kid is born if I can help it. I am due Jan 13 and go for the NT scan on July 9. If that is clear I may consider telling someone IRL but I doubt I will. I hate to complain because I wanted babies for so long and couldn't do it, I have friends on round 4 of IVF and no baby and here I am like a real person knocked up by mistake. It is a weird set of emotions I was not prepared for. And financially we are so fucked....

thinkchocolate05 DH and I have made jokes that we only want two babies because we don’t want to deal with middle children. Both of our middles in the family are pains in he but. However I love my family so it’s not like I wish they weren’t here That is funny, I am a middle and swore I would never do that to one of my kids.
