DD is definitely a different toddler around everyone else. She's even different for DH alone vs when we're all together. It's gotten a lot better in the last few weeks. But a month ago I was googling "toddler colic" because she would fuss and tantrum unless she was nursing, outside, or being held.
She's become obsessed with her bellybutton. Today it got irritated from all her poking at it. So she's in onesies while it recovers.

I’m not sure if he’s paid much attention to his but he is usually in a onesie still. That’s crazy that it got infected! I hope it heals soon!

I am pretending not to see any of these posts about tantrums. My 8 month old will be wonderful forever. I am so not ready for tantrums from two children. Ds1 needs to do us a solid and get the threenager out of his system before ds2 starts.
On a semi related note, I taught ds1 a few baby sign language signs when he was around 14-15 months. It seemed to help with some of the tantrums because he could communicate a bit. Nothing crazy, just more, milk, hungry, water, and all done. I think I tried tired and sleep but he picked up the eating related ones faster.

Daycare LOVES LOVES LOVES DD. Like I have teachers jumping at the chance to babysit. They always say how great she is and how much fun they have with her. This is even when I get papers home saying she bit two kids. I... I don't get it.
I wish they had cameras so I could see who swaps my kid out for an angel at daycare.

I would really love to see how he is there. He also drinks a ton of WCM there and I’ll be lucky to get a few sips in him at home. 🙄

I thought she'd stop if it hurt, but it makes me cringe to see it so I decided I needed to put a stop to it. Her hands just automatically go to it if she isn't playing with a toy. I put Bacitracin on after bath. I'm sure it will be fine after a rest and then she'll do it again.

DD eats maybe a few bites of dinner most nights, but always finishes breakfast, snack, and lunch. On the weekends, though, she's picky-picky all day long.

What weirdos. I think he just likes inflicting pain on others though.

Who is this child?

She definitely takes advantage of my love...lol!

I saw (cameras at daycare) a bigger toddler push DD down yesterday and she was crying so hard. I was so hurt. I cried. It was like the first time anyone has ever been mean to DD. 😢😢

Success! Today was the first time MIL watched DS since we've been potty training this time around (I had an all-day class for work) and he actually used her potty! One of our biggest hangups with PTing each time we've tried is that he won't use bathrooms other than ours. Sure, public bathrooms are still a big fat nope for DS, but this is a good start.

I think I would get caught up in the intricacies of the day and try to micro manage after it has happened (not saying that's what you're doing just what I would do).

I definitely wish I would not have scene that interaction. ETA: Freudian slip curse not cursing..lol

The technology is definitely a blessing and cursing. I definitely wish I would not have scene that interaction. I'm sorry you had to see that. It's always tough to see your LO get hurt and not be able to comfort them right then. If it gives you any peace of mind, the first few weeks DD was in the toddler room, she came home with an incident report almost everyday. It was concerning at first, but then you realize that a. toddlers are violent and resort to violence because they lack the necessary communication skills b. your child is the little fish in a big pond now c. the older kids have a lot more motor and coordination skills so your child will want to keep up with them and physically can't yet, so it leads to more accidents.
