I can totally relate. We are on week 2 so thankfully only need to do the stretches before daytime feeds but larzmini screams every time 🙁 I’m glad to hear there is an end in sight. We go back for follow up at 3 weeks so we have to continue them until then around the clock. Did you get it shipped or lasered? We did laser bc I thought it would be better but man this is awful. Eesh, this is making me really hope that Fs lip tie stretches out by itself.

My pedi only does snipping, not laser. The first few days were awful. I made her bleed once and I cried every single time I fed her. I hope I did the stretches correctly; I'd hate for them to have to re-snip. I have a follow up on the 9th.

I've been trying to get L down for almost 2 hours. She's overtired so keeps waking up and being pissed then can't get back to sleep.
I hope you all have better nights!

I can’t wait until nursing doesn’t automatically mean sleep. I swear it takes us 30 minutes for her to wake up to nurse than passes out within a minute of starting. It is so frustrating.

Apparently trying to fall asleep for 3 hours means that H will still sleep a long stretch. She finally went to sleep around 10 and just woke up at 5:30. I'll take it but I kept waking up throughout the night checking on her. Not to mention my boobs are Rock solid.

We were up every 45-75 minutes last night. I gave up around 4am and slept in the recliner with her.

I think by the end of the week we will be attempting a bottle. I know that because I am BF they always say to wait about 3 weeks or so. But we will try and see. My pump is coming today. Ideally I would love DH to take the 11 o'clock feeding---she eats between 10-11. Right now, I have been staying up until 11 to feed her then she hangs out downstairs with DH (because he is a night owl) and he brings her up to nurse again around 1:15. She did sleep for a 4 hour stretch last night though, which I made me feel great--from about 2am to 6am.

Add me to the rough night club. DS was up like every 1.5hrs after his first stretch last night. I'm sleepy.
Our power randomly went out middle of the night last night so I am hoping the rough night was somehow attributed to that, but I don't really know how it would affect him.
Fingers crossed for an isolated event 🤞

Not for lack of trying. So with DS we tried at a week and he has taken a bottle every few days since then. His pediatrician said as long as he has a good latch and is gaining well from nursing, a bottle shouldn't hurt any nursing.

But she is still have troubles taking it. She has a anterior tongue tie but not to the point where to ped wants to do something, so I guess it is the culprit.

Because I had to be pumping to increase my supply, F has been getting a bottle pretty much all along. It doesn't seem to have hurt anything, he switches readily between bottle and breast. Just make sure that the bottle you have is as close to the breast as possible.

Both have switched back and forth fine and didn’t care what type of bottle. Good luck!

This reminds me that L needs to try bottles. She is much more finicky than O was so FX it's not a disaster

We started to try a bottle around 3-4 weeks and it took a week or so for her to find a bottle she liked. And now since he tongue tie she is having trouble again. But we are going to try everyday to get he me back to taking one.

We got the Kiinde system, where you pump into bags and transfers to the bottle. The pump and that set arrived today, so hopefully she likes it. I want DH to give her the bottle because if we are away at CHOP, she will be home with him.

E had her 2 month vaccines today. She went to bed at 7:15 which she usually would treat as a nap. And she put her self to sleep. Usually takes us a while to get her down f or night. I had to wake her at 1am to do her mouth stretches. She would’ve slept much longer I think bc she barely even woke up when i did her stretches and didn’t actively nurse a lot. I did give her Tylenol before bed bc she had a fever from the vaccines.

How is our one week old baby so alert. She has been up for almost 2 hours-not fussy or crying. Just looking at everything, smiling, etc.
I am exhausted. Tomorrow we will play.

DS1 never figured out a bottle. Unsure if that makes me more or less motivated to pump and try the bottle with J. My pump response was horrible last time but I’ve learned a lot about pumping since then. I should put a date on the calendar to start pumping & trying the bottle or I’ll never do it and end up in the same bottle refusing situation.

I guess every situation is unique but we started with a bottle while still in the hospital and never had any issues with DS1. Same with DS2 except that I used a nipple shield a bit longer but bottles vs breast aren’t an issue today.

Usually when she is hungry and I am in the shower or something. In the refrigerator we keep the lower amount that I pump but in the freezer it is the higher oz.

Why has my child been unsettled for the past 3 hours?? He's been fed, changed, had a cuddle, been burped, and yet every time I think he's falling asleep and I can put him down, then he starts crying again.

That moment when you are pumping MOTN and you realize that the flange is on the wrong spot. I even used the flashlight on my phone but I guess I missed the target so nothing came out for 5 minutes. Oops
