I also ordered a new sound machine because ours doesn’t have just white noise. It has the ocean sound. I’ve noticed she responds so much better to actually white noise so I ordered the dohm sound machine

It is hands-down the thing that saved me with my first son. Best invention ever. My first exclusively slept in that thing til he was 5 months old. This babe doesn’t like it but we are ok in the dockatot for her. How are you feeling about the dockatot? I’ve been able to transfer my son for a couple of naps from my lap but I end up supervising since it makes me nervous that they are not for sleep. Then I get annoyed that there’s nothing else that a kid is going to do in one except sleep,

It’s no different than the RnP in that respect. L has napped in the dockatot, but he’s doing so well in the RnP that I don’t want to make a shift yet. I will by end of July though since I go back to work in September and that will also be the 4 month regression. So we need to be adjusted by then.

I can not wait for some longer stretches. Even 3 hours would be glorious. Up every 1.5-2 hours on the dot last night. She went right back to sleep each time so that’s super nice at least.

Last night was particularly rough. Woke F up for a feeding at 2:30. He was hungry and rooting, but the moment I'd put him on my breast he'd refuse to suck and just started screaming. Tried for literally an hour in every position I could think of, but in the end we just ended up giving him a few ml of pumped milk and a syringe of formula so everyone could get some sleep, and I pumped again which he got with the (also difficult) morning feeding.

V, L and I are all sick with a cold, and I can tell this is going to be a rough night. V was up crying and coughing at 11, so he’s already in bed with me. L just woke up crying about 10 minutes ago and was coughing and choking on phlegm. That was scary, and he’s doing better now, but I’ll be listening for his breathing the rest of the night. My throat is on fire and I can only breathe out of one nostril.
H might get a solo day away from the house tomorrow for father’s day.

budders sorry you're dealing with the sickness. One or all of us has been sick since coming home from the hospital and I am so over it!

Those of you that swaddle, do you take the swaddle off for middle of the night feeds? I am sort of random with when I do and don't.

I usually fed in the swaddle with my DD, but sometimes the swaddle seems to piss off DS, but I can't seem to let go of it.

We've just been swaddling for feedings. When he's laying down he wants his arms free and will fight against the swaddle, but we have to swaddle to feed more often than not because he starts pushing against my chest otherwise.

I take off the swaddle to change her (this girl gets pissy about being wet), feed some, then reswaddle, and finish feeding.

Depends on if I think the swaddle will make him too cozy to eat. Still in the first sleepy newborn days over here.

Most times I’ll change his diaper before I feed him so I’ll take the whole thing off, but I put the bottom part of the swaddle back over his legs before I nurse so that it’s easy to wrap him back up when I’m done.

F took forever to wake up for this feeding. Luckily I had pumped a bit at the last feeding so we gave him that to wake him up and keep him from freaking out about being woken up. Then I had him on one side and the pump going on the other. I feel like a cow right now lol

In the early newborn days i would unswadle feed, change diaper, swaddle and finish feed. Now I keep her swaddled unless she pooped. She hasn’t been pooping MOTN recently though so that’s Been nice

+1 to unswaddle, feed on one side, change diaper, reswaddle, feed on other side. We're using the halo sleepsacks with the swaddle right now.

DH took F and her RNP downstairs and slept on the couch with her last night while I got some solid sleep in bed. It was amazing. I’m still a little anxious today but better.

We've been getting some (involuntary) smiles after nursing and it's so sweet!

W had her first vaccinations yesterday and slept like a dream tonight. So nice to get some solid rest! I’d love to think we can replicate it.

Last night was awful. Maybe not really awful but I saw every hour after midnight which is never fun. There were two almost 2 hour stretches but that is not sufficient.
