After we got the puppy and discovered she was nuts I told MH it was ok because I thrive with a little bit of chaos in my life. Less than a month after that we found out I was pregnant with twins and he was like, I hope you were serious about that chaos. Sounds like you need a fish tank. Nothing says "Oh fuck me" like realizing you need to clean the fish tank when you can already barely stand. You'll love it!

I’ve been strongly suggesting a vasectomy for my H because we used IVF to get pregnant with DS, and have 6 frosties left if we ever decide on tfas. I think he’s scared. I’d much rather use our “32” year old embryos than a possible 37 year old eggs & sperm, even if that meant possibly getting pregnant for free. FFFC? I’m in the same position. We have frosties and if we decide to have another I’d rather use our younger embryos.

This week my kids and I had an amazing time at our ASL camp, my heart is so full. Total inclusion, not having to explain my kids’ hearing loss (except to other people who also have hearing loss) and working on our ASL...I can say I haven’t felt this passionate about something in a long time and it feels so good. I smiled so much this week because of the sheer joy I experienced! Tonight it’s been nice to wind down with a glass of rose and tending to my garden which apparently missed me this week 😋

I can’t wait for Baby Beesly and Baby Disick. The last weeks when every twinge is a guessing game of “is this labor” are the wooooorst. I'm officially losing my mind and I'm only 38 weeks. I'm having so many weird pains and I just want to hide in a dark room alone until something actually happens. I am only 32 weeks and really am not sure how I’m supposed to go on like this for 4 more. I have to have MH spot me up the stairs now because lifting my legs *that high* is not great.

Might I add that the theme of ASL camp was Harry Potter and I know that many of you are HP fans so naturally, I had HIH on my mind.

I’m home and unpacked. There are six piles of laundry in my hallway and I need a shower.
And a vacation from my vacation.

My kid is officially a first grader. I think I might order takeout and pour a drink to celebrate. She is long asleep as her day was very fun.

Do you have any friends or family that can take you on an outing? Unfortunately not this time. Everyone is an hour or more away and busy. We are hoping to get the car on Monday, if it all checks out. It’s just the worst timing cause MH works his 4 12 hours shifts. This sounds rough. I would pick you up if I were close. Can you drop him off to work so you can have the car then pick him up later? I would have to do this.

I’d definitely hang out if I was in Texas! It’s very rough. Being a SAHM I try to leave the house before & after nap to break the day up. He commutes an hour away and works 9-9, so it’s not feasible to pick him up in the evening when the baby’s bedtime is 7. He leaves the house at 7:45am and doesn’t get home until 10pm.

misspatty what about doing a weekend in Bloomington? It wouldn’t be nearly as expensive as Chicago. Depending on when you go most students would be gone and it’s a nice vibe. And there are some really good places to eat. Also I can live vicariously through you. So please live blog should you do this option

unicornsparkles - I volunteered at a camp like this through middle school and high school. It’s an amazing thing. 💕💕 My sister met some lifelong friends there as a young teen.

McBenny - DS has had recurrent pneumonia and they haven’t figured out why, but any prolonged crying makes his O2 sats drop (low 80s to 78ish). He’s 2.5 and I still can’t sleep train. 😭 Thankfully we’ve been able to do more gentle methods and he falls asleep alone from about 8-3am and then cuddles with SO until about 7. This really easy for me routine is also why I haven’t pushed the issue.

DD also cried for 6 hours straight the few times I worked up the nerve to leave her...one hour with checks, screamed for six hours.
One hour no checks, screamed for six hours in my arms.
That broke me and we had to do much more gentle lay with, sit with, sit on the floor, sit out the door method. But now at 4.5, she goes down with her 3 songs and a kiss at 7pm and doesn’t wake up until morning. The last year has made up for her first 3. 🙌

Also, said 2.5 year old is still awake, because he napped 3 hours at daycare. I’m lucky to get 45 minutes at home.

I have a glass of rosé. Both kids were in bed before 8. 👍

H had me try this pre-made Manhattan drink he bought. I guess it gets aged in an oak barrel or something. Took the tiniest sip and it burned the back of my throat and then burned all the way down. This is why I generally don't try his drinks lol.

I feel like our pedi told us when he could physically go long enough to sleep through the night (based on weight, I guess). And then recommended sleep training. I was like “hell yeah”.

We let DS stay up to watch the game and the see the trophy and he just fell asleep on the recliner. He has done this maybe once in his life. He looks so cute.

Because of DS’ growth issues it was a long time before we got the sleep training go ahead. Like we were still waking every 4 hours for a long time
