. Also, we learned how many people in our neighborhood have chickens....who have also gone missing. So many chickens. Well, with a name like clucky, I have to ask: Are they in your backyard?? Ha! Just catching up. No. But if we had, I’m sure they would have been part of the foxcapades happening in our neighborhood.

Re: the village. Our village has expanded SO MUCH since that term started. Sure, the village used to be something you could show up to someone’s home and talk directly to them but now there are so many people in someone’s village, so maybe we should not necessarily write off someone on something like next door speaking up about our children. Just a thought. And you knew and trusted the people in your village. Sure, you might want to know if your kid was being an asshole but do you want your kid’s asshole behavior along with their photos documented on the internet for all to see forever and ever? I also think that the motive of these posters is questionable and that matters to me at least.

I don’t want them saying boo to my kid.

Based on this board, I wanted ND so badly. Then we got it. It’s dumb boring shit on mine all day.
I. Want. Drama.

The most controversial post on our ND was about the panhandlers in the medians of the main roads. It went on for weeks. It was both informative and extreme. It started when one of the guys fell into the street, luckily he was not hit by the oncoming cars.

Based on this board, I wanted ND so badly. Then we got it. It’s dumb boring shit on mine all day. I. Want. Drama. Ours is at least 85% lost or found pets. The other 15% is teenagers looking for jobs, people selling things, or looking for recommendations. Booooring.

This prompted me to look at ours. It's mostly lost pets or selling furniture.
Now our town Facebook page... That's something. I love reading the crazy.

My mom’s small town Facebook page is where the drama is. The guy who runs it has one of those big window decals on his truck that says “locally hated.”

My ND had a recent post by someone bitching about the abundance of "free to a good home" posts. Lots of people backed them up too.

Oh, and I passed a field with blue barrels being used as individual chicken coops.

Teenagers be teenagering, I'd be flippin pissed if someone blasted my kid because he was being loud at starbucks or trying the F word on for size like the group of young kids at the park the other day. Live in a city, city things will happen.

Last month someone accused this poster of lying about being a foster parent. The poster was asking for donations. They went back and forth. And then someone was like if she’s in need of bedding donations so bad to lie what’s the big deal. Constant postings of the porch pirate that steals your package and gives the camera the finger. And the constant debate about how long should “lost cat” postings should stay up. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ I just follow to see when the avocado lady is selling her avocados 2 for $1.

The current drama on our neighborhood FB group consists of "Are the foxes good or bad", "Why do I have to pay $3 to be listed for the garage sales", and my favorite "Why do posts have to be approved!?!?".

Add me to the boring NextDoor club. Mine is people advertising community events and asking for recommendations for home maintenance.

My next door is comedy gold. One poster took photos of a middle aged guy who was tagging stuff. You get the poster every time who comes in and sites legal code (not the same person in each post) and the person who asks why anyone complains. Then you get dozens of posters saying if you don't dislike this behavior why don't we move it to your house? The subject could be anything, this week it was tagging.

Live in a city, city things will happen. We have a local FB page. Actually two, because some people thought the first one was too uptight. They are always posting photos of cars, with license plate when possible, if they speed, cut them off, etc., and especially if it’s a teenager. I’m meh on that, certainly if they are speeding through neighborhoods with little kids. There was one post though that took a photo of an SUV, with license plate, and said that there was a teenaged couple inside and the boy was getting a blow job. The poster said he/she just wanted to make sure the parents “knew what their son was up to.” I live in a small town. No doubt most everyone with a teenager recognized that SUV, knew who it belonged to, and knew who his girlfriend was. Should they have parked somewhere more secluded? No doubt. But still. I felt so terrible for those teenagers and their parents. There were enough negative responses that the OP too it down, but still. Damn.

She also didn’t like that people walked side by side and took up the sidewalk. Ok, lady.

Our HOA sent out letters requesting residents stop complaining about the HOA. It didn’t work. I’m still pissed the pool isn’t open yet!

My ND has gun auction, Black bear alert, and selling stuff. In that order. And pictures of people driving slow through a neighborhood. Wearing hoodies. 🙄

Our ND is always drama. The latest gem was someone trying to rehome their dog because of an impending divorce. A handful of helpful comments and then former neighbor blew it up. Said the guy cheated on his wife and then took the dog when the wife and kids wanted it. That one was real fun to read.
Otherwise it is a lot of teenager driver shaming and questions about what is going in the various shopping centers.
