I'm tired, hungover and period crampy. I don't want to parent today!

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

We're back after a somewhat rainy trip. Thankfully we had one really good beach day, B was a champ at the dentist, and we got some stuff done at my sister's new house, so I was satisfied.

Today we just need to go get the dog from the kennel and buy some groceries, I guess. More rain on the horizon here so I need to figure out some stuff to do this week now that B is out of school.

Yes! b/n 'normal' weather and the tropical storm moving up from the gulf, I think we are just doomed to have rain for a bit. It rained literally the whole drive home yesterday. 

On the plus side, our grass is looking fantastic, ha.

Doing tons of work this morning while the boys eat donuts and watch M's ipad. I have a friend coming over later with her daughter to go swimming. Then errands after that. And I need to mow.

Good Morning! I'm still pregnant and feeling pretty awful today...yay. They will check baby's fluid levels etc. at my appointment today, but we just did last Thursday and everything looked good. I think she's just cozy.

My ILs left last night, but it was nice to have them for the weekend. It's amazing how much more you can get done with 4 pairs of hands on deck. I realize now I need a team of nannies and maids.

Today is the last day of school for two of my kids. I can't believe summer vacation is already here 😳

wineallthetime I specifically made no plans yesterday so we could relax and recover (really give my liver a break) and I'm still tired today. I hope the kids behave and take a nap so you get one in too!
guster I'm a little jealous of your 56 degree day yesterday...we broke records all 3 days of the weekend due to heat and this week isn't looking much better. I even wore a dress to work today, it's going to be so damn hot!

With the heat and humidity, there are chances of showers this afternoon. Which is of course, when they're supposed to install my new windshield, since they brought the wrong one last week. I'm hoping it doesn't rain and I can get the new one installed because I'm so tired of a cracked windshield!

Morning! I'm really tired. C is trying to convince me to take LO to school but I have a ton on my plate today so I'm hoping he will take him. I have to get a birthday gift for my nephew, go to Costco, clean the guest/lo's bathroom. I was hoping to relax this morning.

Is a throw on the back of a couch in a formal living room too fuddy-duddy or too informal. I wouldn't question it in a family room. I feel like it has a place there. flamingo?

I just have a lot of annoying phone calls to make today. Insurance, gotta get the gas & water turned on at the new house. Waiting for the random lawncare place to call me back with a mowing quote... hopefully the lawn isn’t too bad yet 😬

IMO, depends on the throw. Afghan-style blanket or something, yes, too informal. Something a bit dressier might be alright. I'd look for something fairly tailored, no long fringe, not too heavy/chunky of a knit, etc, and keep it very neat. You'll often see them folded over the arm vs. spread out. 

I've also seen those faux-fur throws (from Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware, for ex) look beautiful, esp. in fall/winter.

Faux fur starting sometime in October sounds like a really nice look. I'll keep my eyes open for something spring/summer weight, but at least I have a nice idea for winter.

Morning. This weather and this day are killing me. I just wrote a letter to formally resign for the job I’ve already been let go off, very weird. They do not want to see me go. I know this is very positive, but i find it very hard. This lady does not do change well. Dh is going out tonight and I fully plan on sitting on the couch with a big glass of wine and mull this all over.

guster / flamingo I don’t have a formal living room, but I do have a very nice throw folded over the side of my couch. A very thick, dark grey one with huge roses on them, I love it.

Yesterday we went to a place that is kind of like a zoo/sanctuary hybrid. They have a huge open area for some of the animals and you get to ride a tram on a tour through it. We saw so many baby buffalo. They also have separate pens but they are very large and use the natural habitat. It's not in the city and way out in the country. It was a beautiful drive and we avoided the freeway traffic. They also had zipline adventures and we signed the girls up for the kids one. They had a blast going over rope bridges, various obstacles, and of course ziplining. I was really impressed at how well they did because they had to do it all be themselves.

Today is...today. Meh. Same old stuff. And I work this weekend. Blah.
