Taitai, I'm a huge fan of the CosRX blackhead power liquid. I use it daily as a spot treatment on my nose, chin, and area of my cheeks where I have large pores. I apply the CosRX AHA whitehead power liquid on the rest of my face at the same time. I then wait at least 20 minutes to apply the rest of my nighttime routine. It has really reduced the appearance of my (super large) pores and reduced the number of blackheads/SF that I see. Daily use works best for me, but lots of people do it 2-3x/week. (I double cleanse first, then swipe my face all over with a ph adjusting toner on a cotten pad before applying my acids.) Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the cosrx blackhead power liquid and the Whitehead power liquid. I think I’m going to try both - I’m in the USA right now, so I can get them for a good price!

Inquiring minds want to know. We’re in the Midwest now, and omg it is so cold- like snow and bitter winds cold. We were on the east coast earlier in our trip too. I’m definitely going to stock up on some cosrx snail serum, as well as the blackhead and Whitehead power liquid. I also want to grab more of the low ph cleanser that cosrx has. I already got more T’iam C20 Vit C, as well as my favorite scrub - the skinfood black sugar wash off mask. I might also pick up another skinfood peach sake pore serum. I love the scent and use it as a primer. I am on a facemask moratorium, so no more of those. Oh, and a good eye cream. I’m probably going to order a pack of Sulwhasoo ginseng eye cream samples from amazon (sample sizes, so I don’t loose all my monies 😀) www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B013SLGBRI/ref=pd_aw_sbs_194_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=970VH6DFJHBC37Y866TA&dpPl=1&dpID=91hQN71v6DL

I have the Cosrx blackhead powder as the next thing on my list. It's part of fifty shades of snail's pore reduction routine and I'm slowly building up my products to get to that point.
I admit I did not listen to you guys and got the blackhead peel off mask anyways and it was a disaster. I will never not listen again. It hurt like a bitch, and basically waxed my face. It was also super messy and caused me to break out so into the trash it went.
I'm now on a mission to find a good overnight hand cream. I use aquaphor now, but it's really greasy and I'm not in love with it.

Live and learn, YOLO, right? 😁 Let me know if you find a nice hand cream- I agree that aquaphor is too greasy. I like Aveda hand relief, but I hate the price.

I really like the first aid beauty ultra repair cream. It’s made a couple of good lists, and I got it at a Sephora Black Friday deal. My other go to is cetaphil, it’s great for the price and my kids (who have eczema) can use it. There’s some Egyptian Magic lotion I have heard good things about, too, but I haven’t tried. I know Costco has it for a good price and with a money back guarantee.
The first aid beauty is my favorite.

So I got to do a quick trip to Target today (oh it was glorious and I wish they had Targets overseas so badly), and I impulsively picked up the “All the Masks” beauty box with 5 face masks in it. Anyone try this one yet? Thoughts? I’m most interested in the nuetrogena hydro gel mask. I know I said no more masks, but there it was...

Taitai, I haven’t tried any of those. Let us know if there are any you love. Also, this isn’t skin care exactly, but I bought the Etude House Lash Serum (for lash growth.) It was v inexpensive and I feel like I can see a slight difference in my lashes after only a couple of weeks.

thisbitch I overall liked the Neutrogena hydroboost hydrogel mask, with some caveats. It was really slippery coming out of the package, and since I didn’t realize it came in two pieces, I accidentally dropped one of them in the sink - blerg. Still put it on my face anyways. The mask was kind of slippery at first, but once it was on my face for like a minute, it adhered and then stayed in pace for the remaining 30 min. It has a nice cooling effect, and I like how the eye flaps and mouth flap were still attached, so you could fold them up over your eyes and mouth for a more moisturizing experience. There was a lot of liquid in the package that spilled out when I opened it...so I feel like the mask dried out faster than it could have...had I not wasted the liquid. I normally put the mask on and then take the extra liquid and slap it on top of the mask/my face to use up all the essence For 2.50 per mask, I don’t know if I’d repurchase. I didn’t really see a huge difference in the morning. It was nice for a hydrogel (and a good price point for one), but I like the Freeset Donkey Milk ones better - more moisturizing and cheaper. I’m using the St. Ives Oatmeal Soothing mask right now, and so far so good! The mask material is nice and soft and I like the scent of the oatmeal essence. Might buy this one again, depending on morning results. ETA - I just saw the St. Ives mask is 2.50 each...naaaah...not that good. If it was $1 or $1.50 each, okay. I like the Naruko or My Beauty Diary ones better, and they’re like $1 each.

Anyone else have issues with Niacinamide? I know it’s supposed to be great for acne, but I’m beginning to think it breaks me out. It’s pretty high on the ingredient list for the Benton Snail Bee Steam Cream, and I have broken out all over my face the past two days. I’ve been using the cream for 3 days. I’m so bummed 😞

One thing I would mention is that Benton is known for not using preservatives in their products, which can cause them to turn early....which then causes unhappy skin reactions. I’ve seen reports of the happening from bloggers and on reddit/asianbeauty. Not saying that is what you are encountering, but just throwing it out there as a possibility. Do you have anything else with niacinamide in it, which you could use (while stopping the Benton) to see if your breakouts continue?

Whelp, I’m back home in super hot and humid Southeast Asia after nearly a month of freezing cold/dry weather in the USA. My skin is definitely freaking out a bit, but overall it’s nice to have the humidity again. The dryness was awful for me - my hands actually cracked and bled ☹️. I decided to get some sample packets of the Sulwhasoo Time treasure eye cream and tested it out for the first time last night. Omg - love. It goes on really nicely, with a gentle cooling effect. Doesn’t slide around, yet seems substantial enough to really moisturize/repair. No eye stinging either 😀. To bad it’s insanely expensive. Darn you Sulwhasoo for being so wonderful and so pricey. I’ll continue searching for a good eye cream that doesn’t break the bank, but in the meanwhile will order the little foil samples. They end up being a lot cheaper (on a $/ml basis) than buying a full sized container. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ARHWSWO/ref=pd_aw_sim_194_of_15?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DWA13JTG0361CET61VW6

I love physical exfoliators, and there are definitely some good, gentle ones out there. My fav is the black sugar wash off mask from skinfood. It doesn’t have strong salicylic acid in it (like the grapefruit Neutrogena one), so it shouldn’t get too harsh for your dry skin. Good price and amazing smell too. Tip - I use this in the shower, so it’s easier to wash off. Also, after using I follow up with a gentle facial cleanser, just to remove any oil residue from the mask. www.ulta.com/wash-off-black-sugar-mask?productId=xlsImpprod14431255There are also these Neogen exfoliating pads that others on this thread have mentioned liking. I think cagoldi and thisbitch like them? I haven’t tried yet, but they are on my list. www.amazon.com/Neogen-Bio-Peel-Gauze-Peeling-Green/dp/B01GZ1QXAIFinally, you can also exfoliate chemically, by using AHA or BHA acids. Paula’s choice and Cosrx make good AHA/BHA products...the Cosrx ones tend to be more gentle - not using stronger AHAs like salicylic acid. You might want to try gradually incorporating those into your routine...like starting with use only 2-3 times a day and then working up to daily use. I would also suggest not starting both AHA and BHA at the same time...pick one or another. Below is a good post about how to incorporate them into your routine to help reduce clogs/minimize pores. Has lots of good product recs and instructions too! www.projectvanity.com/projectvanity/acids101Finally - if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you want to ask your doctor about using AHa/BHA first. Some advise against it.

I had read that about Benton, so I hesitated for a while before I bought the cream. I have the Niacinamide from The Ordinary. When I first got TO products I started everything at once like the skin card newbie I am and my skin freaked. So I stopped everything and went back to my normal routine until it cleared up, and then I started adding new products one at a time and my skin has been fine, but I never added the Niacinamide back in. Once my skin clears I may patch test the N+Z to see how my skin reacts.

sakura I think that’s a good plan - let things cool off and then patch test. You never know what you will react to. I know sooooo many ppl who love the Lado Habo gokujyun lotion, but it breaks me out on my face (but oddly not on my neck). We all have our skin care quirks. Also - just a friendly PSA to anyone reading this thread. If you shop at Target, I’d recommend staying away from below mask. I received it in a Target beauty box that I picked up while in the states. It has the honor of being the worst sheet mask I’ve ever used - by a wide margin. The first thing I hated was the fit - horrible. It’s vegan, so maybe because the mask is paper-based, it doesn’t mold to one’s face as well? The worst part was the burning though. As soon as I put the mask on, my whole face started to burn. Like, not a tingling “it’s working” sensation, but an - “ouch - my face feels like it’s getting hot” feeling. The smell was really chemically too. I couldn’t stand it after 7 min and took the thing off - my whole face was red. Lots of reviews I found online had the same comments, so it’s not just me. Anywho - Not a fan. There are sooooooo many better masks out there. At $2.50/mask, it’s way over priced too.

I’m running low on my Banila Clean it Zero, so I’m on the hunt for a replacement oil cleanser. Has anyone tried Perfect Whip cleansing oil? It’s Japanese and really popular out here. Decent price too. Wondering what you guys think - I like oil cleansers that have a bit of “slip” to them - the Banila balm does the job, but it can be too thick for me sometimes.

Taitai thanks for the heads up about that mask 😳 I haven’t tried the Hada Labo gokyu jun on my face yet, but I’ve been using it all over my body right after I shower and I’m loving it. It keeps my skin from feeling dry and tight without also feeling sticky or like I have something sitting on top of my skin. I can comfortably put pants on afterward.

Quick PSA - all Skinfood products are buy one get one 50% off at Ulta right now. My faves include the black sugar wash off mask, rice wash off mask, black sugar cleansing oil, peach sake pore serum, lettuce and cucumber watery emulsion, and the egg white pore mask.

Facetory PSA- through April 29 you can get a one month free mask subscription, code just4you. The second month will be charged at full price, but you can cancel after that and would have 2 months for the price of 1.

Also, my friend gave me these facial cleansing cloths that are meant to be used with an oil cleanser and are lightly exfoliating. I’ve only been using them for a few days, but so far, so good. BRB with a link that explains. I have no clue what brand I am using because I got them as a gift, but I looked up muslin face cloth online and they are not expensive. thechalkboardmag.com/the-5-minute-beauty-practice-that-could-change-your-skin

Taitai, I got some Farmacy cleansing oil in my Sephora play. It was a deluxe sample and I have been using for a travel size oil. I have really liked it and would recommend, but it’s $$$. I usually prefer to steer towards the authentic Korean product and away from the American version because they’re cheaper, usually better quality, and i’m A little snobby, but if you’re hard up, I would offer that. I tried the Etude House prior and I didn’t love, but it’s liquid, so it has a lot of slip. I’ve also been happy with every Kosiea product I have tried, but I haven’t tried their oil cleanser.
