I think my black snail cream is breaking me out. I bought it months ago, tried it for a week and had a lot of little zits so I went back to my hydro boost and everything cleared up. I have a nice big cystic pimple on my chin that I haven’t had since I started my AB routine, and I can see more coming staring the black snail cream was my only change this time. I think I’m going to have to discontinue it again to make sure. It sucks because it’s the perfect amount of moisture for the summer. My face felt so light and good compared to the hydro boost right now (great for winter, but humidity is not fun.) Oh nooooooo!!! That sucks. Definitely a case of everyone’s skin being different. I HATE that the Hada Labo HA lotion that everyone loves breaks me out. It gives me little bumps and zits all over - especially on my forehead. Whyyyyy???? Everyone else on the planet seems to love it! Another lightweight moisturizer that I really love is Murad skin perfecting lotion. It’s expensive, but you can sometimes get good deals is Murad is having a flash sale. Even my H loves it, and he has very sensitive skin. It’s such a bummer because I loved the feel!

How long did you guys have to wait for your Jolse orders to ship? Foreverrrrrr. Which is normal I think but I also blame the pandemic. I’ve ordered from yesstyle a couple times and don’t remember it being quite as long. I ordered on April 17 and received it on May 20. It actually shipped from Korea pretty quick but was super slow once it arrived in America.

PS the Luke Charcoal Cleansing Nose Strips were terrible. There were two samples in my Jolse order. I had one on for approximately five seconds before I took it off because the smell was so terrible.
I also tried a rice face wash. I think it was by Saem? It was too harsh for me. My skin was squeaking as I washed it.

Taitai Do you have any product recommendations for the large bags under my eyes and overall puffiness? Under eye bags and circles are so tricky to deal with! Finding an eye cream/serum has been one of my most frustrating experiences - I haven’t really found anything that’s amazing. What I would say, is that the Benton fermentation eye cream does do a good job with reducing puffiness and helping with fine lines. I like the Innisfree orchid eye cream for fine lines as well. Regularly sheet masking can also help - just to keep that area well hydrated and plump. Hyaluronic acid products and hydrating toners also can minimize the impact. But yes - it’s a difficult thing to manage for topical products.

Should I increase it to more than once a week? Is there another sheet mask you’d recommend?

I try to sheet mask daily, but it ends up being a few times a week. I think if you keep the eye area hydrated, it will definitely help the skin in that tricky eye area. I say the more sheet masking, the better. I love My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid mask. I also like the MBD pearl mask - I find that one hydrates really well and isn’t too heavy. Oh, and I also use the Cosrx snail 92 AIO cream on my eyes pretty regularly. I think the Innisfree can get too heavy for my eyes sometimes, but the snail 92 is always a solid performer. If you haven’t tried it already - check out the 92 cream! It’s nice and light and doesn’t give me milia (which I am prone to).

I'm a dumbass who went too hard on retinol for the first time and dried the hell out of her face.
Even after all the research I did that said don't do this, and how to do it correctly.
I cannot follow directions well I guess, so now I'm gentle cleansing and moisturizing like whoa.

A couple weeks ago I decided to try the Klairs freshly juiced vitamin E mask. I freaking love this stuff! It feels so good going on my dry skin and the moisture lasts a long time. As much as I really like the Mizon black snail all-in-one, I feel like my skin needs a lot of re-application throughout the day. The Klairs Vit E cuts that down completely. I think it's become my new favorite, it's so versatile. Great as a sleepy mask and equally good as a daily moisturizer.
All that to say thank you to whomever mentioned it on here. It's awesome!

I was on vacation and not good about checking my phone. I use the MBD black pearl mask - love it so much. I haven’t tried the royal pearl, but I’m sure it’s nice too! As for the Cosrx snail 96 vs 92....if I had to choose one, I’d go for the 96. I live in a tropical climate though, so I need more hydration/repair than I do moisturizer. I think if I was I a different climate, I might reach for the 92 just as much. But yeah, the 96 is amazing and takes care of my trouble spots, so that’s my #1 Cosrx product.

I just discovered a new local sheet mask brand called Myu-nique. Their sheet masks have fun themes (Frozen characters, Hello Kitty, and Gudetama), which really isn’t my thing - but the overall sheetmask experience has been good so far! They have a similar feel to Naruko, but cost about 1/3 of the price, so yay for that. Plus it’s local, so I don’t have to worry about international shipping. I’m sadly out of Lululun, so looking forward to giving this new brand a try.

I've been reading along for most of the thread, but I'm so bad at actually posting! Products that I currently use throughout my weekly routine: Banila co. Balm, CosRx Good morning cleanser, Biore sunscreen, TO peeling solution, Skinfood black sugar honey scrub (love!) cosRx snail 96, Klairs Supple Prep toner(love!), and several different sheet masks- I adore the Tosowoong pure propolis one! I'm really enjoying finding and trying new things, and spending time on my skin.
I have recently ordered a ton of sheet masks (Naruko, Missha, Mediheal, 23 years old, Etude House, I'm Sorry for my Skin, Papa Recipe, JM Solution, My Scheming) as well as a new balm cleaner(HopeGirl), Shark Sauce (great white), and a Vitamin E oil. Now I have to wait for them to all be delivered! Ugh🕜🕜 I generally order from GlowieCo which is pretty quick, but I also ordered from Jolse this time which I've heard can take quite a while.

Hi! I'm a lurker on this thread, off and on. I wanted to check in for some recommendations because I just weaned my second (and last) kiddo, and need some retinols in my life!!
I have pale and sensitive skin, prone to dryness and breakouts (mostly hormonal). Right now, I'm using the Glossier jelly cleanser (love), and their Solution toner, as well as Hydroboost SPF. I also have used a few serums from Ordinary, but don't love any of them. My favorite serum so far is the MaeLove glowmaker, but I'm out, so I thought I'd ask around before I buy new.

The only retinol I've tried is the Neutrogena rapid tone repair dark spot corrector. I think I got lucky because it has done wonders in fading sun spots on my forehead, temple area, and neck. Because of my dry/ sensitive skin, I only use 2x/ week- I made the mistake of going overboard with it at first and stripping the moisture barrier. Don't be me. It took awhile to repair. I haven't been bold enough to try any others yet, so I'm interested to see what others on here recommend. It's this one: www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Dark-Spot-Corrector-Discoloration/dp/B00HNSSJR8

Welcome potatocakes ! If your looking for a good retinoid - I would highly recommend checking out Curology. They can make a custom prescription for you, based on your skin type and what you are looking for. You can always adjustments, and everyone I know that has used Curology has had a very good experience. When I use a retinol product - which isn’t all that often (I prefer AHA and BHA), I like Murad Retinol Youth Serum. I don’t use it too often though, because between my 20%, L-AA, BHA, and AHA, I don’t want to strip my moisture barrier. So I use it maaaaybe once a week, if that.

@icedtea Wohoo that you got the jolse order!! I know - so random about the socks 🤣. I do love all the freebies too.
In terms of your morning routine, it might be a bit much for some. It really depends on your skin and the climate you live in. For me, that would be too much stuff/too heavy...my makeup wouldn’t be able to look good on top of all that.
If you find it’s too much, I’d suggest moving the snail 92 to the evening, and even the poreless power liquid to the evening, as the BHA will work over the course of 24 hours anyways.
Good luck! Remember - don’t try them all at the same time! Add one product at a time to your routine!

I appreciate their thoroughness 😂 This makes a lot of sense, thank you! It definitely feels like too much some days and I've experimented with leaving the 92 off. My skin is really dry, but it's been so humid here. But then I'm in ac all day. Oof. The poreless is the only truly new thing to the routine, but I didn't realize that about the 24 hours. I can move that to the evening and that will make the morning easier too. I'll start this up and see. Thank you for being my skin guru, as always You’re welcome! Maybe once the weather changes and becomes less humid, you’ll want to add more layers/products for the morning too. I’m a big fan of using anything with acids (BHA, AHA) and retinoids at night, because some of those things can be photosensitizing, and it’s just better for your skin in terms of sun exposure to have them “fresh” on your face in the evening (no sun), than right before you head out for the day. The efficacy will be the same 👍. Enjoy your stuff!

Has anyone here ever tried the Hada Labo low ph face wash? It’s called the Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Face Wash. I’m running low on my face wash supplies, and the HL one is basically the only low ph cleanser I can get here locally without paying a million import fees.
This twitter post has some other HL low ph recommendations, but I’ve never tried those either. If anyone has, lemme know what you thought! Please 😁

I haven’t changed my kbeauty routine but I did just switch to a lotion bar for my legs. I think I’m a fan. Obviously it’s thicker than traditional lotion and takes a tad more effort. It comes in a cute tin and I can get refills. I purchased it from a local soap maker so I can support a small business and do one more little thing to reduce my plastic consumption.

i've tried the u.s. version of hada labo hydrating cleanser (hada labo tokyo), which i loved. it was really creamy and gentle, but still felt like it did something. however, it does has different ingredients than the japanese one. so, maybe not real helpful... everyone on reddit seems to love the hada labo foaming face wash, though.
