I love Jolse. I haven’t placed an order there in a while because I’m really trying to clean out my products. I miss their giant sample bags.

Sulwhasoo - I just can’t quit you. I’m back to using the Sulwhasoo first care activating serum in the morning and at night. The Secret Key First Treatment just didn’t do it for me. I think what I am going to do is use the secret key as a temporary replacement to my Klairs supple prep, once that runs out. I know they are different products for different applications, but I want to see if replacing the Klairs with Secret Key will make any noticeable difference. If there is no difference, good for me - because I can’t find Klairs here, but I can get Secret Key.

Thanks to Taitai I hit up the Jolse sale. I stocked up all on my Cosrx staples: good morning cleanser, snail 92 & 96, for $9 I’m trying their sun cream. I threw in an A’Pieu Hammamelis sheet mask because I love the smell of real witch hazel flowers and am hoping it smells like them. They also have a 1+1 on SecretKey Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel. I had a bunch of samples last year and liked it so I added that to my order. The only thing missing is my Klair’s toner. I’ll just grab that from Amazon. It was so hard not to buy some new things. But I’m pretty happy with my basic routine plus I have some random samples and sheet masks to use up. I finally started my baby feet treatment and did a sheet mask last night. It was Goo Tao Beaute L'affair Panda Mask that I received in one of my Facetory subscriptions. It smelled amazing and was very moisturizing. I would but again just for the scent.

I reorganized my skincare drawers and dresser tray, from two drawers to one. I checked sheet mask expiration dates and moved a couple to the top of the stack. Little projects that greatly improved my mental outlook during my spa night!

How is everyone’s skin doing? I feel like the extra time on my hands due hanging at home all the time is benefiting my skin. This month, even the little breakouts I normally get right before my cycle have gone away. Maybe it’s adding the Sulwhasoo back, who knows?
Anyone else noticing changes - for good or bad?

Taitai better over here! I think it’s due to having more time and energy to focus on my routine. Normally I’m rushed or tired and end up skipping/forgetting steps. The change in weather is also helping. Sometimes I struggle at night during the winter because the last thing I want to do is put some cold slimy product on my already freezing face. Downside: my hands are worse from all the extra hand washing and house cleaning. I did a bunch of dusting and wiping down baseboards this morning so my hands feel all dusty and dry. I really need to remember to wear gloves.

I’m bummed - I finished my Banila Clear It Zero today, so now I have to go back to boring Senka All Clear Oil Whip cleanser. It works, but it’s just not my favorite. Oh well - I have to use it up.
I also ran out of my favorite Mizon low-PH prep toner, so I’m using the Cosrx AHA/BHA clarifying treatment toner as a replacement. I really like the Cosrx as a prep toner before the rest of my actives/skincare. The problem is that it’s a spray pump bottle, which I really don’t get. I have to spray it into my hands and then get it to my face. I can’t just mist/spray it directly on my face, because the acids would get in my eyes. Bad design Cosrx.

Eh, I think my skin has been better. I usually WFH so this quarantine schedule is not new to me but somehow my skin care routine is off. I think I'm in a rut but I also don't want to buy new products and not use them. I need to spend more time here and get inspired.

I’ve been at this AB Routine for a few months now and I will NEVER go back. It has completely cleared up my cystic acne. I am amazed. Even right before my cycle it’s gone. I might get a couple of tiny zits, but not a full on giant cystic break out. It’s amazing. I’ve had to really buckle down to stay on task during quarantine but so far so good. The only thing I need to tackle is my black heads. But I’m afraid to do anything different because everything else is going so well 😂

I would suggest gradually incorporating a gentle BHA (Cosrx makes a good one) into your routine. You should just put it in your trouble areas (where you have black heads), and maybe only start 2-3 times per week, gradually building up to daily use. I love BHA for keeping my pores clean and blackheads away. As BHA can over-exfoliate your skin (which causes other problems), I only use the BHA on my nose, chin, and jawline. I use it about 4-5 times a week, and on the days I don’t do BHA, I use the Cosrx AHA all over my face. It’s worked well for me! But you have to start slow.

I really should get one but I’ve been too scared to disrupt the harmony of my face. It sounds really silly. But I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have chin acne.

Now I’m googling Cosrx BHA, is it the blackhead power liquid?

Bought myself a bunch of travel size Paula's choice items to try out a double cleanse regime and see if I like their moisturizers and I got the Cosrx 96 essence.
I also need to buy more of my Lumene Nordic-C Glow Boost Essence. I love this one. Especially right now in SIP I am just so tired and having trouble getting moving.. Putting this fragrant orange essence on my face helps wake me up, and it genuinely helps the appearance on tired skin. Love it.

Now I’m googling Cosrx BHA, is it the blackhead power liquid? Yep - that’s the one! I also was a little hesitant to start with BHA (and then AHA), but I have noticed that my skin got even better! My latest addition is the Cosrx AHA about 2 times a week, and I just love what it’s doing for my skin! So smooth and no breakouts. Just make sure you start slow...BHA and AHA can cause some purging (like, unclogging your pores and bringing deep gunk to the surface) but it should not cause your acne to flare up or get significantly worse than that you had before. I never had much purging, so I guess I’m not the best to talk about that. Just make sure to go slow and only use it on problem areas. BHA will help to keep your pores clean, so you don’t get future breakouts! I use Paula’s Choice BHA, but the Cosrx one is more gentle, and people say it is just as effective.

It’s a boost essence - what is the consistency like? More on the thin side? Do you put it on more early in your routine?

I decided to take a break from my Lululun sheet masks and use up some of the Naruko and My Beauty Diary masks that were getting close to expiration. I love the limited waste/packaging from Lululun, but yeah - I forgot how much nicer the Naruko and MBD masks are.
For whatever reason, my skin broke out way more than normal due to my cycle last week, and the Naruko snail mask cleared it up so well. Like, 2 nights in a row and everything was almost gone/back to normal. I think I’m going to order some more - just to have on hand for emergencies, while I use Lululun for regular masking.

My Jolse order is here 🎉🎉 Now the fun part of figuring out all the samples.
I finished up my Pyunkang Yul toner the other day and am excited to go back to Klair’s. That’s the only big change to my routine.

I need to start switching around some things for summer. Suddenly everything feels heavy on my face. I have some mizon black snail cream that wasn’t enough hydration for winter that I might swap for my neutrogena hydro boost. Maybe a pump less of my snail 96 ( I go hard on the 🐌) Lately I feel like my Klairs freshly juiced isn’t sinking in as well and also feels heavy so I need to figure that out too.

ArielMermaid I love how lightweight the Mizon black snail is - I think it’s a great choice for the summer! I live in a year-round tropical climate, and I find that going for more layers of light/hydrating products work best for me. So, things like hydrating toners, activating serums, snail 96 (I only use the 92 at night), etc. I also tend to use more gel and lightweight sunscreens. The ones that are marketed as a “sub cream” are just way too heavy for me. Do you have hydrating toners? Hada Labo HA (gokujun) is a favorite out here.

I think my black snail cream is breaking me out. I bought it months ago, tried it for a week and had a lot of little zits so I went back to my hydro boost and everything cleared up. I have a nice big cystic pimple on my chin that I haven’t had since I started my AB routine, and I can see more coming staring the black snail cream was my only change this time. I think I’m going to have to discontinue it again to make sure. It sucks because it’s the perfect amount of moisture for the summer. My face felt so light and good compared to the hydro boost right now (great for winter, but humidity is not fun.)

I HATE that the Hada Labo HA lotion that everyone loves breaks me out. It gives me little bumps and zits all over - especially on my forehead. Whyyyyy???? Everyone else on the planet seems to love it! Another lightweight moisturizer that I really love is Murad skin perfecting lotion. It’s expensive, but you can sometimes get good deals is Murad is having a flash sale. Even my H loves it, and he has very sensitive skin.
