if you're looking for something else with ferments, cosrx makes an essence that has ferments in it. 

other similar japanese products are cezanne skin conditioner and naturie hatomugi skin conditioner, but neither of them have ferments.

i do see the kikumasamune toner on amazon right now in a 2 pack for $30 (price is a little jacked up-- usually it's about $12 per bottle). but if you haven't tried it before you may not want that much of it! (it really did NOT agree with my skin, left a sticky residue, and it has a very distinctive smell).

Hey ladies it’s been a while for me, but Bare Republic has a gel mineral sunscreen. I got it as a free gift from Grove and it’s really light.

Anyone else try it?

Nope. The “gel-lotion” is totally misleading! So glad it was a free sample. It’s lighter than what we usually get for sun screen but it doesn’t layer well! Maybe I put it on too soon after!?!

I’m looking to start using retinol. I have really sensitive skin but since quarantine and weight loss I’m noticing the start of fine lines on my forehead. (Is losing weight going to kill my skin?)

Does anyone have recs for New England located person for retinol? One friend suggested pixie retinol tonic but she doesn’t Asian skincare.

ETA: I’m down 30+ pounds, 90lbs to go!

Have you looked at Curology? It’s all online, and you send them pics/descriptions of your skin so they can formulate something that is right for you with retinol/Tretinoin. I can’t get it here in Southeast Asia, but everyone I know who has used Curology in the states has been very happy with them!

Curology is very popular with bloggers/people who are into AB skincare! Fifty shades of snail and FanservicedB are fans, as are many others I have followed I’ve the years. I’d look into it - I think would go nicely with an AB routine.

I signed up for the trial. We’ll see if that helps. I haven’t seen my usual eczema on my eyelids since following AB steps. Something simple to be delivered would be nice.

Klairs toner (OMG, totally best product in ages, thanks all for the recommendation)
Mizon Snail Repair Ampole
Sephora brand eye cream (not loving this, would love to replace with a good AB product)
Cetaphil moisturizer
La Roche Posay Sunscreen

I need to see about how to add in vitamin c, I know I love the Kielhs brand version, but it’s just so pricey.

Does anyone know of a good vitamin c that has a better price point?

I love the Ordinary's vit c/ha combo. It is like $7 and works really well for me with zero irritation.

Cheshie6 You can definitely use Curology as one of the steps in your AB routine! You would put it on after you double cleanse, as it’s a prescription medication. Then, you would go on with the normal AB steps, like actives, then hydrating toners, then serums, ampoules, creams, etc.

This summer I’ve started to notice more dark spots, so the T’iam sounds very tempting, I’m just worried my sensitive skin might freak out.

I think that’s a good plan! The Klairs might do the trick, and it is more gentle than L-AA. 👍

If they say to use it after moisturizer, then I’d start that way. Most AB bloggers use Curology after double cleansing, so if you find that you are not seeing many results, maybe try putting it in earlier in your routine to see if that makes a difference. I will say, this is the only cosrx product that I did not like. It made me break out horribly. I have never tried another propolis product as a result, so I don’t know if it was just the cosrx version or if my skin doesn’t like propolis products.

I love the Secret Key FTE for doing 7 skin. Usually, I do 2-3 layers of this in the winter at night after my acids. My skin doesn’t handle heavy creams well, but it gets dehydrated and this keeps my skin supple.
