Thank you! That website was the best recommendation! It made sense to me. I will start to work through this thread as well. Does anyone have any recommendations for wipes for the flight? Also, does the system change if you don’t wear makeup frequently? I just realized I did double cleaning when I do wear makeup!! 😀 I use regular coconut oil and scrub my face with that before cleaning it with my regular calming cleanser. Sorry, excited that I was doing something helpful. I’ve been reading and taking notes and I apologize now for random likes on posts that are ages old.

jayhawk, i would def patch test the snail mucin first (a good idea with any new product). apparently people that are allergic to dust mites are sometimes sensitive to snail mucin. i am allergic to dust mites and haven't found this to be the case personally but apparently it's pretty common. sheet masks are basically serum/essence in mask form, so they would go at that step in the routine order. Cheshie6, double cleansing is also good for removing sunscreen-- i very rarely wear makeup but i still double cleanse. oil cleansers are formulated to emulsify with water so they will rinse off your face more cleanly than something like coconut oil (which can be comedogenic for some people).

Costco has some K beauty on their website now. My H just got me a set called Case Full of Seoul that has 11 products. Normally $149 but currently on sale for $119. I'll review the items once I've had a chance to use them. Awesome!!! I would love to try out a set like that - sounds fun. sakura You should definitely try the black snail one! It’s only $15 on amazon too! (Normally $25). The jar looks like this: www.amazon.com/MIZON-Black-Snail-Cream-Ounce/dp/B00B4PWEJUDumb question alert 🚨 Is this a moisturizer? I use the neutrogena hydro boost water gel right now but when it runs out I want to try something else.

This is $$$, but I love love Sulwhasoo’s evenfair perfecting cushion. It’s not a very heavy coverage, and it has a solid lasting power. Also, sightly dewy (but not too much), which suits my tastes. IOPE and Laneige make a good cushion, as does Hera. I’ve tried both, and they are much more reasonable from a price perspective. IOPE also has a peach sherbet cushion blush that is HG for me. IOPE invented the cushion, so if Sulwhasoo is not up your alley, I would check out IOPE first! www.amazon.com/CUSHION-BLUSHER-new-2019-03-peach-orange/dp/B07PYSP35R/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=iope+cushion+blush&qid=1568207858&s=gateway&sr=8-3ETA - one thing to add is that cushions normally come with a refill too - so if you have sticker shock from the price tag, make sure to check and see if there is a refill included. Thank you and @karenwalker too. I have a bit left and then will likely try one of those suggestions. I need to see what i can easily get to Canada. I am headed to the States in November so hopefully I can check out the Sulwhasoo one in person.

vvvvvfee, thanks for the info about dust mites- I am allergic to them and didn’t patch test but so far so good. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Possibly dumb question.... You can buy extra cushions? Are the color numbers fairly consistent brand to brand? Taitai,

In case you wanted to know/critique for this trip on a 10- day transatlantic cruise (no time to order by the time I got paid and all are 3oz or less):
Oil cleanser: Dermalogica pre-cleanse Cleanser: cerVe hydrating cleanser* Toner: Mario Badescu Facial spray with rose water* I’m not using serum yet Mask: elemis herbal lavender repair mask* Eye serum: Elemis Absolute eye serum* Moisturizer: Bliss what a melon water jelly hydration Night cream: elf moisturizing sleep mask Spf of 50: don’t remember the brand name
I’m also bringing a few hydrating masks as we have a 12+ hour flight. I also have the Clinique dramatically different anti- pollution jelly (is this a serum/essence?) My goal is hydration.
Please critique, I won’t be able to change stuff for this trip but I am wanting to learn. Thank you all for the information you provided. Everything with an asterisk, I owned before or had from my beauty box subscription.

asunasword Yes! You can buy extra cushions. beesquared already covered it, but I also like the IOPE cushion sponges. They have the ruby cell technology and hold up really well. You can get extras on Amazon. I find that I don’t really need extras, because one cushion sponge tends to last long enough to use up the cushion foundation, plus, you can clean the sponge and it still works just as well. But if you want extras to use with other foundation you have (and want to use up), the IOPE ones work well. I’ve used them with some extra BB cream I had. www.amazon.com/IOPE-CUSHION-Makeup-Sponge-20-ct/dp/B072JJPHB9/ref=asc_df_B072JJPHB9/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312143311573&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7377175814985443979&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1026201&hvtargid=pla-568592312533&psc=1Cheshie6 I think that routine looks fine! As a word of caution, however, I would definitely not introduce a ton of new products all at the same time to your face. Just one at a time, giving yourself 1-3 days to make sure your skin doesn’t have a negative reaction to it. The worst is when you put a bunch of new stuff on your face, there is a bad reaction, and then you don’t know what caused it....and then have to stop using to calm your face down, and then go back and reintroduce each product one at a time.

Thanks for all your help!

Thanks for all your help! Welcome mariska! You have a great routine planned - lots of fan favorites in there. The only tweak I have is for your nighttime routine: apply the Klairs toner after the Retin A or Paula’s Choice BHA. You would follow the Klairs with the Cosrx snail mucin. The reason for this is because hydrating toners (like Klairs) go on after actives (Vit C, BHA, AHA, Retinol products/prescription medication). Also - if you decide some day to use both the Retin A and BHA on the same day, the BHA would go first. I don’t recommend doing 2 actives at once right away, but you could alternate days to build up to it. 👍

For any other newbies out there, I am loving Gothamista’s YouTube channel for great AB videos Her channel is good, but dangerous! She makes me want to buy all the things. I’ve found that I need to only put things on my Amazon wish list after I watch her episodes, and then wait a few days to re-evaluate whether I really want them. She’s great to watch though. 👍

I’m trying to go slow and buy only a few things at a time but it is so hard- I am loving my results just from masking and the snail essence- now I want more!

I saw in an Instagram ad that Kiehls is having a skincare event with free skincare analysis and moisture level testing. I’d like to go but I don’t actually want to buy any of their products...

Apologies for PWing it up in here...
Has anyone tried The Saem aloe toner? I found a bottle at Marshall’s today for only $6, so I figure even if I don’t like it, no big loss.

I have tied The Salem sheet masks (not the toner though), and I liked them a lot. Very hydrating, and I know the brand is pretty popular in Korea. Hope it works out for you!

I’ve only used it a few times but I like the Saem toner. For $6, it is a definite winner!
I’m wanting to add in Vit C as my first active. Any advice or recommendations would be welcome! I’m debating between the Vichy 15% (can buy locally, but pricier) or the Tiem My Signature C (higher %, cheaper, but have to buy online and could potentially oxidize in transit).

Anyone have a rec for a Vit C serum $20 or under? Or are all the good ones more than that?
ETA: you guys didn’t like the Ordinary one right?

Has anyone used any of the Oh K! Chok Chok Masks or products? My local grocery store has a small selection of their stuff, was wondering if it was any good.

I use it. It’s great! I’d buy off of the Ordinary website or Sephora, though. It’s cheaper - only $7.20.

I have shipped a few different Vit C and had no issues with oxidizing in transit. That said, I can't get through a bottle any size before it does oxidize. I am going to look at a powder next time. I know the Tiam comes highly recommended. I personally use the klairs. I started with this as I had very used Vit C and wanted to be sure my face wouldn't react first.
