emma and Taitai have you looked into shoping online at roseroseshop? Even with EMS shipping it is often the cheapest way to buy Asian beauty stuff. Some items will even ship free, plus the give lots of samples. I really like roseroseshop, along with jolse. The only problem is at the import/customs point here in Thailand. Customs will tack on huge duty fees before they deliver the items to me, which often doubles or triples the price of what I have shipped here. So, even with cheap EMS shipping, the duty fees end up making things waaaaay too expensive. Total bummer. It’s probably good for my wallet that I can’t do any AB online shopping direct to where I live though 😅😂

I live in an area with a large Korean population so I’m going to see if I can find and beauty supply stores locally. The Asian supermarket here does a few lines but I’m not sure if they are any good? www.tnt-supermarket.com/bc/health-and-beauty/#beauty-collectionI’ve heard good things about the Dr. Wu Line. If you end up trying anything, let us know what you think!

emma Is Clinique really expensive by you? If not, Clinique take the day off is pretty similar to Banila Clean it Zero. I’ve used it and like it a lot....not as much as Banila, but close. In USD, it’s about 8 dollars more than Banila, but the size is also a little bigger. Depending on how much product you use - I bet a jar would last you 4-6 months. Sometimes Clinique does promotions too - at least they do in the states. Anyways - just thought of that as another option.

Taitai it’s been so long since I used anything from Clinique! I looked it up and it’s $38 so that’s cheaper than Banila here. I also found a Face Shop near me

That’s awesome you have a Face Shop! I have never tried any of their oil cleansers, but I saw they have one that is popular, is at a great price point, and it has good reviews on memebox: us.memebox.com/product/25236/rice-water-bright-light-cleansing-oil

It does rinse cleanly and has good slip. Occasionally it stings my eyes, but I can be sensitive to fragrance. It's worth trying for the price. One bottle is a 6+ month supply.

beesquared that’s good, I’m sure I saw it either here or on the blogs so I’m glad I chose well Naruko masks are my favorite!!!! That snail mask is amaaaazing. Be careful when you open it though - it’s slippery! I almost dropped it on the floor the first time I used mine. I have 2 Naruko snail masks I am reserving for emergency skin situations. They’re like my precious 😂😩😅 Hope the Softymo oil cleanser does the trick too!

From retailers it’s even worse, because the value of the products are right there on the invoice/customs declaration form, so customs will often just double or triple the price and issue that as the duty fee - especially if you are a foreigner like me. So sad! 😭😩

Taitai you weren’t kidding about the slippery!! I have to lay down with my head back while wearing it in the beginning. After 5 minutes though, it adheres well to my face and then I can walk around (if I have to - I prefer just laying around like a snaily blob when I have it on).

Oh and my oil was good, it did a nice job of removing my makeup

I rediscovered an AB blog that I really like today - Beauty and the Cat. It’s written by two women who are friends; one lives in DC and the other in NYC. They’re super funny/witty and they review a lot of interesting products. They also use one the writer’s cat as the blog mascot, and the other writer always puts these funny stickers in pictures. It’s definitely fun to follow. I kind of stopped reading them a while ago, because one of them kept constantly posting about these sunscreen balls she was trying to develop. The posts were funny...but it was too constant for me. That seems to have subsided, and I understand why she wanted to use all of the marketing tools available to her to get her idea developed - so I can’t really fault them for that. Putting them back on my reading list. beautyandthecat.com/

I haven't been on this thread in a while because I fell off the bandwagon and my routine fell to shit and so did my skin. I kept forgetting steps so now I have a new method that I hope will help. I also have to just stop picking my face. It makes it so much worse and creates a endless cycle of breakouts and picking. Taitai I finally bought the CosRx blackhead powder that you've been recommending for months and the piggy bubble carbon clay mask. They came yesterday so I did 50 shades of snail's pore clearing formula and I got a whopping two grits, but it wad still something and my skin is fantastic today. I've also been doing the faceology subscription and most have been just ok, but I've found a couple I love and one that I hated. I'm not home now but I'll try to remember to post the ones I've loved and hated later. Next up I need to get my hands on that snail serum and a quality vitamin C serum. I was using a cheap one because I really didn't want to spend the money, but I think that's what messed up my skin.

I did my first donkey milk sleeping pack last night. The brand was soo ae. I’ve never heard of them before, but the price was right. I loved it! My face just soaked it up! Although, I didn’t use the entire package. There was so much in there, I felt like there was no way my skin could absorb it all! Am I doing it right? Or should I let it sink in and keep adding more? Was it a sheet mask or a sleeping pack? Two different things. It seems like you’re talking about the extra essence that is left over once you open a sheet mask and pop it on your face - is that so? If yes, I use the extra essence up - I put it on my arms, neck, and chest. I also take any extra liquid and add it to the top of the sheet mask when it is already on my face. Keeps the mask hydrated and extends the amount of time I can use it before it dries up. If it’s a sleeping pack/sleeping mask - just use however much you need to cover your face before bed. You shouldn’t have to apply a very thick layer - applying too much might clog your pores, plus it might be too sticky any mess up your pillow case. If it’s like a one time use pack - just paper clip it shut and use the remaining stuff on another day! ETA - Was it this one? www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0771CR3SB/ref=cm_cr_othr_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8If so, that’s like a single use sleeping pack, as there is no sheet inside the package - just lotion, right? I think you could use that all over your body if you have extra and want to use it all up that night. Single use stuff like this tends to not have as many preservatives, so if you only use half, I would clip the bag tight and store it in the fridge/use up within a day or two. Some people are more zealous about that stuff than me, and they won’t save it at all - for fear of bacteria growth which could cause acne. I think if you are careful and don’t go sticking your finger in the package, that you could save it in the fridge for a day or two. That’s just me though!

How often do you guys sheet mask? I try to do it every night, just because I find my skin looks a lot better when it’s hydrated- and sheet masks are really effective at hydrating. Often it ends up being more like 2-4 times a week though - sometimes the kids have a hard night, or sometimes I’m lazy and just don’t want to deal.

sheilathetank Glad to see you back! Getting just a few grits is fine! I think you also might get more after you use the BHA for a while. I find I also don’t get many grits if I haven’t worn makeup for a few days. Maybe your pores are pretty clear? In terms of Vit C, you might want to look for something with only 5% or 10% L-AA. That should be gentler than the 20% stuff that I use. Klairs makes one with only 5% L-AA, which people tend to like. I haven’t tried it, but I do like the Klairs brand - esp the supple prep toner. beautytap.com/product/klairs-freshly-juiced-vitamin-drop/

Taitai, yes, that’s the mask! There is sooo much in there. Also, I did not follow your warning and just left it covered on my bathroom counter. I have a huge/painful pimple on my jawline. I’m not sure if it’s the mask or just stress (my baby just started daycare!) but I’m going to slow down on the masks and see how it goes. I think my skin is very combo and the things that are working for my cheeks don’t work for my nose/chin. It’s a process! I can only do sleeping packs 1-2 times a week...and even then I only put them on my cheeks and other areas prone to dryness. If I put them on my chin/jaw line, I get breakouts or bumps. Not everyone is this way, but it is for me! The bummer about those single use packs is that they have so much product in them, and then you can’t keep them as long. That’s why I tend to avoid them and just get one in a tube with preservatives. The Too Cool For School pumpkin sleeping pack is good. The Laneinge water sleeping pack is also popular- but divisive. Some love, some hate.
