We got no sleep last night. Both kids tag teamed us. When we got up we discovered a mouse has been partying in all our lower kitchen cupboards. None of it is food but it is every pot, pan, silverware, Tupperware, kitchen utensil, rags, etc.
I want to scream and cry. We are having my husbands family over for cake today even though I knew it would be a fucking disaster. But MH insisted. Now I’m frantically sanitizing literally everything. The three year old is crying because she wants us to play with her new toys with her, the newborn wants to cluster feed. I just want to cry.

Thanks, guys. I'm sorry if I made anyone feel badly about wanting to go back to work, you absolutely shouldn't be. I've never been a career-minded person and I hated that I had to work for years before Lyra, so those feelings are only intensified with her being here. Working has literally never appealed to me on any level other than I don't have to live with my parents.
So basically I was doomed to feel this way from the start and now I actually have to deal with it. 😣

Yes he is running around like a mad man while I’m stuck under the baby. I can’t deal with the postpartum hormones and the stress of this damn mouse. I feel like my poor kids birthday has been ruined because I’m a mess today. |

Hugs ArielMermaid. That's rough.. I'm so sorry. Happy birthday mattsgirl2004! We went to the gun control rally today. It was for a group of bikers who ride from Sandy Hook, CT to DC every year. Em lasted an hour and a half then got too wound up so we left. I'm feeling grumpy AF. Elle, Em and my H are all sleeping (Elle on my chest). Luckies. |

Thanks guys. Toddler Mermaid is having a great time with her cousins. Postpartum hormones make everything seem really hard.
It’s going to be a bitch and a half to clean out the entire kitchen though. I’m tired just thinking about it.

I had a plan for what I wanted to get him and my dad told me a particular store in town had it. I haven't had a free minute in 6 weeks so I just ran out now to get it. Of course they didn't have any and never did. So I called my dad to bitch and he denies telling me anything. I went to a few other stores and then came hine empty handed. So I am the worst and don't have anything to guve my kid. But grandpa and grandma are the best because they got him a f'ing trampoline. That I asked them not to buy. |

Happy birthday mattsgirl2004! Hope you are having a great day. ArielMermaid, I feel like sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves to make our kids’ birthdays spectacular and perfect. I do it too. I try to remind myself that at this age they are just excited by anything and it sounds like your daughter is having fun!! Also sorry for the mouse. That’s no fun. Speaking of how I am totally reasonable when it comes to my kid - we may be going a bit overboard this year for DS1’s birthday since last year’s was so underwhelming. Last year I was in trial and so we didn’t celebrate until the day after. I didn’t have time to get him a cake or make him one so he had this terrible store bought cupcake. Terrible mom here. I still feel guilty. So this year to make up for it, we ordered a cake from a local bakery even though it will just be us and my sister and nephews. At least he will be happy! |
