Dramaphile, Rocket is also stuck on earth with the OG. He's the only surviving GOG, not including Nebula (who is stuck on Titan with Tony). I feel the worst for him. He just watched his best friend die, again (poor Groot). He's stuck on an alien planet, and he'll probably soon find out that the rest of his gang is gone. And Bucky went poof too, so he can't even steal that arm he wants so much. I was surprised he was the only guardian left.

That would make the most sense. Which brings me to the next question: Does Shuri become a Black Panther now? She does in the comics... I know there's no heart leaf or whatever left anymore to give her powers, but she would be the next in line for the throne, unless M'Baku decides to challenge... At the very least, she needs a super suit and some awesome weapons. OMG. Shuri as a superhero? Yes please! Do we know if M'Baku survived? I can't remember. I think he did. And Shurri will br ab awesome super herp

I just saw it. Am working through my anger at Quill for fucking up the Thanos takedown. I'm pretty sure Dr. Strange knew it was going to fail.

I loved the SW and Vision stuff. But SW has been my favorite Marvel hero for YEARS. I'm just waiting for them to integrate Xmen with Avengers and make her Magnetos daughter like she's supposed to be.

I like the character of Scarlett Witch but not a huge fan of Elizabeth Olson's acting.

I like the character of Scarlett Witch but not a huge fan of Elizabeth Olson's acting. I think she's been doing a good job in these. She's a good actress generally, from what I've seen. Wind River with her and Jeremy Renner, they were both amazing. V v v triggery movie but worth it.

DH (who didn't see it, just read about it) said, "well I doubt GG3 is going to just be about a raccoon, so I'm guessing everything works out by the end of the next avengers movie."

cakewench have you seen Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in interviews? They're hilarious. And also they're nice to look at. I have to say that because of all the previous freaking Spider-Man movies I was not looking forward to any Spider-Man involvement in the avengers. But. Tom Holland is THE best Spider-Man I've ever seen. He nails it. I think I had the strongest reaction to his disappearance because of him and Iron Man and I finally saw that his movie really set that relationship up. Spider-Man has never been my favorite, in movies or comics. I've just kind of always been ambivalent to his face. Dd1 and I watched Homecoming last week and it's now probably up there in my top Marvel movies. After seeing IW today, one of my biggest take aways was, Shit, do I like Spider-Man now?

I read a review before seeing the movie that this is the most "comic book" of all the Marvel movies. I wholeheartedly agree. The jumping around, unlikely pairings, multiple plots, this is a comic on film. I know it's going to work out, but I also know people will die.
Points of note:
-Chris Pratt did look heavier, I wonder if they told him not to bulk up as much. Also, wtf was with his credits. He was listed last like it was some big deal that he was in the movie. Yeah, so Starlord could ruin everything.
-Thanos was really well done from a cgi standpoint. His henchmen looked like shitty video game characters, though.
-I was meh on the Black Panther movie. Wasn't he opening up the borders? How is this not a bigger deal with how advanced their tech is?
-Sucks about Xandar.

MH has been reading a lot of theories and he thinks that the people who got dusted are trapped in the soul stone. And that at the end, when Thanos sees little Gamora, she's in the soul stone, too, and she may come back.

I finally saw the movie last night. I have read this entire thread and I agree with a lot of what has been said. My thoughts: The movie was ok but not worth 10 years of hype. I thought black panther was better. 🤷🏻♀️ I am really happy that we finally got Thor the way he is supposed to be. We saw some of this in Ragnarok but not as extreme. He is supposed to be this powerful. However, why didn’t he cut Thanos’ arm off first and then kill him? That just seemed like a dumb moment. I absolutely 100% agree that Dr Strange gave up stone only because that was what needed to happen in the 1 future he saw that says they will win in the end. I get that they made the ending the way they did to 1)Get a reaction out of people 2)Create a reason for the next movie 3) That sometimes the bad guys win. I just feel it was suuuuuch a cop out. I left the theatre feeling a little disappointed. I think Loki’s death is permanent. I think Valkyrie and the other asgardians will show up in the next movie. I think the comedy was great in the movie. I think it was entertaining. From this thread: I didn’t think about the possibility that the ones that survived this movie, are more likely to die in the next one. That makes a lot of sense. CA and Ironman were one my list to die so I thought for sure they were going. Maybe it’s just a not yet sort of thing. I do not agree that this is the most comic-like movie that has been made. I think GOG 1 looked just like a moving comic book to me. I could literally picture the scenes as panels in a book. I also think the flow of it was like a comic book. This one did not fee that way to me. I don’t particularly like BW but would be cool with a BW, Okoye and SW movie. Overall it was entertaining but I left sort of saying “meh.”

I think I liked it. 🤷♀️ Shock and awe. I'm sad about Loki, though. We just saw it and same. I actually really enjoyed it. The ending was sad, but it is pretty clear that some people will come back, so it seemed rather open ended. Especially because the next Spiderman movie is coming out next year after the next Avengers movie. I am really excited for Captain Marvel. I love Brie Larson. Now I'm off to catch up on the rest of this thread.

One comment I saw online really struck home with me. The ones that survived this movie are the ones that are in danger the most in Avengers 4, and those will be the absolute permanent deaths. So for the most part, those that "died" in this movie (after the snap) are the ones that are actually the most safe in the future. The more I think about it, the more I like this movie. It really set up Avengers 4 well. In this one, we get the fun combos that we haven't gotten before, and we got to watch them be badass together. Then at the end, the roster is cut down to the basically the main, original 6 plus a few extras. That group will be the focus of Avengers 4, and be the ones to potentially sacrifice themselves to get the next generation (those that "died") back. So Avengers 3 is getting the gang all together, only to break them apart. And Avengers 4 is the passing of the torch from the Originals to the New Generation. I was thinking exactly the same thing with the passing of the torch.

I saw this movie this weekend, and I don’t get the Black Widow. I don’t know anything from the comics, and I haven’t seen all the movies, so maybe I’m missing something. I thought her powers were psychological. While she’s good at hand to hand fighting with humans, I don’t see how she’s holding her own against people with super human strength or physical super powers.

She's a spy, no actual powers, but she's well trained. She usually manages to steal a super powered weapon from one of the enemies and use that against them in the movies. She also has a powerful taser like weapon in her wrist bands called the Widow's Bite. I'd think her on an equal playing field as Okoye, honestly.

Highly trained, imminantly capable, not a super hero.

I know.im super late, but I just saw it.
Can someone please tell me what the fucking point of Shuri doing the weird neural remapping of Vision if they never ended up taking the stone out and destroyed him only to have him come back and get it ripped out by Thanos?
Also, I saw something online that someone posted when they were asked who dies in infinity wars, they responded "the audience, the audience dies".
Yup, that's about right.

It's not who he is as a person. He takes the safety of the planet personally and he could never sleep at night knowing he walked away when he has the ability to help. If she could get her head out of her ass she would see that and maybe join the fight too.
