Okay, with all our exciting laundry talk, how often do you guys iron? I can't remember the last time I ironed. I don't own an ironing board. I'm not even sure I know where my iron is, although I have a good idea. It has been a minimum of 2 years since I've ironed, I know I haven't used the iron in this house. Reason I ask, H's step mom borrowed a Royals tshirt from me to wear to a game. She brought it back, washed and ironed. I was like, who the hell irons tshirts? I have a shirt in my closet that needs ironed, which probably just means I will never wear it again. I may ask her if she will iron it for me. It's a silky material and I'm worried I'll ruin it anyway. Never! I would throw out the ironing board and iron if the cleaning lady didn't do it. And she only irons the pillowcases (and sometimes the sheets or an occasional shirt). All of my dresses, linen clothes, and all of my husband's work clothes and button downs go to the cleaners on a regular basis. Every day clothes that might have a small wrinkle in them get thrown back in the dryer with a damp washcloth.

What time is their tee time? I'm going to call on my lunch and set one. I was thinking at noon. So we can eat 10:30-11:45 ish. They'll be gone until at least 6-7pm

I've leaned into the skid of my barnacle of a three-year-old, and I'm now doing crafts with her while Charlie sleeps.

Tee time is 12:05. He said it's 4 hours 15 minutes on busy days. Still longer than I hoped but we can work that.

peachsmama At least 4 hours in a group or tournament setting. It can be longer for less experienced players, or if the course gets backed up. You can shave some time off if you're playing solo or with just a partner, the course isn't busy, etc. ETA: I see this has been covered!

I iron on an as-needed basis, maybe 2-3x a week? Assuming I can get stuff out of the dryer promptly there's usually not too much. I will iron the children's clothes when they need it. DH will touch up his own stuff. Anything that needs meticulous pressing or care goes to the dry cleaner (Dress shirts, etc).
I'm sure this surprises no one but in persnickety about our clothes.

peachsmama, I'd just enjoy brunch with your boys and have a MotherBoy day and leave the guys to fend for themselves. No flaky relatives to coordinate with, dad gets to have fun, you and the boys get to have fun and not be worried about a schedule.

After much to do the ILs are borrowing DH's vehicle that can fit everyone and H is with them on the way to the museum. S is napping and I'm having some quiet time. I'm not mad.

M's weekday clothes go in with my work clothes/etc. I do a delicates for our weekend/"good" clothes and I throw my bras in with that load. MH's clothes are done separately, usually by him, because DNW weight room/sweaty clothes in with my load. We do a whites load maybe once or twice a month, but we don't separate lights and darks. Towels/sheets go in together weekly.
We iron, but usually only on weekends if we're going anywhere where I want to look presentable. I usually do M's whole outfit, but just my shirt if it needs it. I want to get a hand held steamer so I can eliminate most of my ironing.

People are ignoring my headphones. I think they've caught on that I'm usually not listening to anything....

Peach, I think eating first is a good plan. The later they tee off, the longer it will typically take, as the course gets backed up. So, have your brunch and then don't expect to see them until the end of the day.

I think MIL, SIL and me and the boys will go to a park or maybe the zoo for a little bit then head home. They can meet us at the cook outs. My dads is usually at like 5 so if he's late it's nbd.

I love wedding's idea of tossing clothes in the wash until it's full - because like hell do I separate anything - but our washer is off the kitchen and the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. So instead I do an overstuffed load of the boys' clothes and a load of my own every Sunday, and let DH worry about himself. Sometimes I have to do a midweek load for the boys, if Col's sheets get soiled or something. But I just put it on a warm setting and cross my fingers. Also I only iron when I'm on vacation because even things that don't normally wrinkle are a mess after being packed up.

I'll have an hour between getting off and needing to get the boys. I'm going to get a pedicure. Think they'll care if I nap while they do my toes?

Anyway hiiiii!
I spent all morning frantically making plans for an emergency trip to Mass tomorrow. I was supposed to go soon-ish since one of my friends just had a baby 6 weeks ago, but one of our other friends - one of my very closest friends - is having issues with her husband. I don't know what it is this time - they've been through A LOT - but it makes me so sad. They've been together 15 years, married 10, have 2 kids and I've been friends with both of them since high school. They were the first people to meet DH when we started dating... I am so bummed.

I'm complaining about house hunting again, whiney person up ahead.
We liked a house that came on the market this week, we had a showing scheduled for tomorrow and it just went pending.
It was on the market for like 48 hours.
I hate everyone.

My best friend has been casually house hunting for a while now and has found homes mostly more than an hour from me. Which I'm not happy about. She finally found literally her dream house, 15 minutes from me! They put in an offer and are waiting to hear back. Her H low balled the price and if they lose this because of him being cheap I'm going to be sooooo pissed. It's already 100K under budget! Why would you low ball on the PERFECT house?!

That's tough, hopefully it's something they can work through. But if not, separating, while hard on everyone, isn't the worst thing. When I divorced my ex, the only people who knew we were having issues were my parents. I put on a happy face to all our friends and the rest of the family to avoid talking about it. People were pretty shocked when it was announced we were divorcing, but as they thought about things, they could see how unhappy we had been.

When we first started house hunting, we didn't realize how low inventory was, so we would make low offers. By the time we found the house we bought, 2 months later, we offered asking price. And knowing another offer was coming in at the same time, I told my mom (our realtor) how much more we'd spend, if it came to it.

Houses are going above asking around here...I just saw one that went 75k over asking 😮
I want to go to an open house on Sunday, I already went to the elementary school website and loved it. Im sure it will be pending by Tuesday at the latest. And j recently has started saying he wants to live in a house and asking when we get to move...crushes us. We are trying kid.

And what if they are so offended they don't even counter? I did that to people that low balled on my house. Or I'd counter a thousand under asking. To prove a point.

Our area it's tough to find both land and a nice house. They got so lucky with this property. The owner is losing his business and is selling everything to pay off debt. Tehre will not be another opportunity like this one.
