I slept for a few hours and then woke up with awful awful hip pain. Heating pad was only vaguely helpful so now I’ve been awake sitting up for ages because I can’t lie on either side. GDI. I'm sorry, I had that same exact issue last week. It was really bad for a few days, and then improved a bit. I hope yours gets better soon! Thanks! Hoping it’s not the new normal since sleep already was terrible.

I'm worried about this too. Mine is spinning around all day long. The midwife was amazed that he has that much space to move. DNW another sunny side up birth. Did you have back labor before? I had back labor with my first who was sunnyside up and I...can't do that again. Let's just say that it's a good thing I don't remember a significant portion of my first labor. And the tearing... The midwife had to call the OB to stitch it up because it was too much for her. And at one point I asked how many stitches and the OB was like "Yeah... I definitely lost count."

My first wasn't face up and I still had a 3rd degree tear. I'm hoping this one's head isn't as massive as her brother's. Lol.

My first was sunnyside up and giant which led to my emergency c/s. They tried to turn him but there was no space left for him to move. After surgery, the nurses and OB said if I had made it through a vaginal delivery that it would have been more hours of pushing and most likely a 4th degree tear so I'm glad the OB called it when he did.

V came out in the ideal position and was only a little over 6 lbs and I still had a 3rd degree tear. Probably because 3 hours of pushing, which I'd really like to avoid this time.

robot I'm sorry for the hip pain. I've been sleeping on the couch for weeks now due to mine.

It’s slow going. I haven’t been on because seeing other babies born without complications and/or seeing other babies leave the NICU is really hard. We are in the feeder/grower stage which is great progress but this is the part that is frustratingly slow. He latched for 0-10 minutes depending on his fatigue and tires out pretty quickly with bottles too so we’re in for the long haul. I totally feel you. We are in the feeder/grower stage and it's really rough when they aren't progressing as fast as we want them. I know it's only been two weeks, but I was convinced she would be home after just a week or two. She hasn't latched yet and we haven't even tried bottles yet. She just won't wake up long enough to even try. And it was the worst when I saw 4 babies go home Thursday. Granted, who knows how long they've been there, but it was still hard. If you ever need someone to chat with, I'm here. ❤ I'm basically living at the NICU right now. It's like round the clock pumping, cares and sleeping. Oh ya we’re in the same place. It’s so hard and frustrating. Everyone in the NICU says one day it’ll just click. But I’m like is that tomorrow or 4 weeks from now? We were told he’d go home probably around 37/38 weeks but it could obviously be due date. He’s 37 4/7 right now which is when my daughter was born and she was only 4 ounces bigger than he is now. She also wouldn’t latch or bottle but she’d eat with your finger and a tube, so that’s what we did for 2 weeks at home until she’d latch. I’m going to ask about doing that today. I’m so sorry you’re in the same situation. We’ll lean on and whine to each other! Keep me updated on PM.

Okay guys, question - I'm having a lot of lower abdominal pressure, verging on painful, ever since this morning. I know it's not baby because I can feel him up crowding my ribs and lungs. Should I call the nurses, or normal feeling?

Should I call the nurses, or normal feeling? Lots of pressure is sooo normal towards the end. But obviously I can't say if yours is or isn't. If it doesn't come and go in waves I'd be likely to not think much of it though.

I was going to trim my pubic hair one last time before baby gets here. But then I realized I didn't know how much of a charge my trimmer had, and I have my gbs swab today, so I didn't want to go in with a crazy looking bush. I'm pretty proud of myself for having that foresight 😬

I'm hoping to do it before my appt this week (trimmer is charged!) and then one more time before delivery. FTMs-you want to do this regardless of delivery type 😉 I use a beard trimmer that we use specifically for this purpose and lug my full length mirror into the bathroom so I can see.

With my first, I didn't really trim or care too much. Fast forward to the birth and a nurse kindly offered to take a pic of my husband cutting the umblicial cord. We didn't notice it at first but she also caught me in all my post-birth glory, au natural. So now I trim just a bit just in case I get any more glamour shots post birth.

I found the aftercare to be easier with less hair. I felt...cleaner? overall when everything else was a gross mess. It was a much discussed topic on my other BMB. One poster (I think she was having her 4th kid?) always shaved everything while she labored at home. We teased her about it and she made sure to include it in her birth story.

I got a a wax on Thursday.
We check into the hospital in about 13.5 hours and my c-section is in about 15.5 hours. I'm ready I'm ready.

This I can understand. It's not really about who will see what, just it feels cleaner with all that gross stuff happening down there.

You all are making me so relieved that at least I don't have to worry about tearing. It's hard for me to even read your posts. ::shudder::

I cleaned up down there last night before my GBS test this morning. It was about time anyways. I will likely do it one more time pre-baby. I did it in early labor last time.

Team wax before birth - in my case bc I knew I was having c sections both times and they will shave you anyways so I’d rather just get waxed than have a shave by a nurse with a cheap razor

I got lucky last time and only had one small tear, I don't even remember them telling me it was a degree or anything. Although I do think it healed a bit weird and caused some scar tissue. So I'm not really sure what's going to happen in that spot this time. 😐
ETA: oops there's a new random thread... I'll move the rest of this there.
