My house is getting professionally deep cleaned while I'm at the hospital. The cleaner confirmed with me today. That and my hair appt the day before my RCS are the only reason I don't want her to come early. This is amazing! Our cleaners come every other Wednesday. Depending on when I go into labor I might have them do an additional clean before we come home. There’s nothing better than coming home to clean house. Fingers crossed all goes as planned for you!

I had a person who told me they were for sure coming and had me give her the address again on Friday and then didn't show up two friends had to be out of town, and another couldn't find someone to watch her boys, and a couple of them couldn't get time off work (the sucky thing about working in healthcare). It was pretty fun anyways though, and my MIL is going to have another shower for me at her place in 2 weeks, with a lot of her family. It's a pretty tight knit community so I expect that more people will show to that one, although it may be slightly awkward since I've not met most of them and a lot of them only speak French. At least my BFF is going to come with me so she can translate lol

Congrats daffodilsandcoffee! That's exciting that she was head down and you were able to deliver without a CS.

13 days left and today is my birthday! H keeps trying to plan stuff and I keep having to remind him that I could go into labor anytime now. We did go see Super Troopers 2 or part of it because I had to pee constantly and the other part of the time I was rolling around in my seat trying to get comfortable. I need this back pain to go away now. I don't think I can go 2 more weeks with it.

Thanks guys! Her name is Anna. I don’t do pictures, though. She hasn’t even been on Facebook yet. I don’t even know how to post pictures here. But she is doing well and so am I. This hospital is amazing and my entire experience here has just been a night and day difference from my first kid. They say that second/ subsequent deliveries are easier than the first one, and this proved correctly in my case.
Advice for newbies: if you tear, accept the good pain meds the first time they are offered. Once the adrenaline wears off, you will realize it hurts worse than you thought. I could have saved myself a lot of grief if I hadn’t tried to “tough it out.” The nurse with the Vicodin has been my friend.

Woot! I need to brag on myself for a moment. I gave birth like 21 hours ago, with an epidural, and I just did my first completely independent bathroom trip.

I also tried to refuse the pain meds at first last night (3rd degree tear, 8 stitches I think). That was the worse part of the entire labor and delivery (well, once I got my epidural anyway). ETA: Last TIME, not last NIGHT. I did not have a baby last night. I'm definitely still pregnant!

Is anyone else nervous they won’t know it’s legit contractions? This isn’t my first but I have this fear that I will mistake it for BH or not know. This is probably ridiculous lol

This is probably ridiculous lol This is my exact fear! We are going to a wedding about 2 hours away the week before my due date, so I am going to be anxiously paying attention to every little thing.

Is anyone else nervous they won’t know it’s legit contractions? This isn’t my first but I have this fear that I will mistake it for BH or not know. This is probably ridiculous lol This is totally me. I was induced last time, and was contracting on the monitor and didn’t feel it. I progressed from 2 to 10 cm very, very quickly so I went from mild cramping to full on contractions pretty fast. So I definitely don’t trust myself to know at this point, especially since I’ve been having the cramping and what I assume are BH on and off for the past several weeks.
