I prefer earlier date nights- ie afternoon and early dinner. Movie at 2, dinner at 5 and home by 7? Perfection. Yes to all this.

Confession? I don't know what this is. But sounds like something I DNW. Basically, FB allows users to create a fundraiser in honor of their birthday. The user picks the charity it will go to, the deadline, and the end goal. FB then promotes the fundraiser on your friends' feeds. It's fucking shitty. I hate it. I fucking hate Facebook but is it really that bad if the money goes to charity? You don't have to participate.

@dazedandconfused don't you wake up at 430am to make your husband breakfast? I do, but I make it for him I can’t deal with it for myself at that time. For me: eggs for dinner = cool, eggs for breakfast =blech. Seeing I’m in the hospital I suspect DH is visiting McDonalds for an Egg NcMuffin daily. Hell no am I waking up at 430am to make my husband breakfast. Why would anyone do that?

I can’t do anything more than a piece of fruit right when I wake up. I get really hungry about 90 minutes into my day though.

Overnight oats, yogurt with fruit, smoothie, there has to be something you'd like to eat for breakfast that isn't time consuming to make. It doesn't have to be eggs. There are 1087648893 overnight oat or smoothie recipes out there.

And afternoon dates will be our new life. My ILs are chomping at the bit to babysit and even though that's not happening until like...Decemeber, they will need to be weekend afternoon dates. They live an hour's drive away and are early bedtime people too. Probably an early lunch and then a movie, or movie at the food/drinks theatre.

I've tried overnight oats several times and it just tastes like you are eating cold slime. Maybe it's just a textural thing for me, but I really can't get into them.

And I think it's tacky to ask people to give money to charity in your honor for your birthday. Like, give your own damn money.

The hospital I delivered my son at had great food. Especially breakfast. I had a longer stay because of a C-section and man those breakfasts sweetened the pot. DD was born around 8:30am so I was still able to get breakfast. After not eating for fucking forever I was beyond hangry. When I put the call in for my order, the conversation went like this: Order taker: what would you like? Me: all of it. Order taker: excuse me? Me: I would like all the breakfast. All. Of. It. Order taker: .... Um, ok. All the breakfast. They ended up having to send two trays and I ate every single thing. I then regretted my decision horribly later when I realized I still hadn't had my first pp poop and it wouldn't be fun coming out.

Last night before I went to bed I chopped up some strawberries and mixed them with lemon juice and a tiny bit of sugar to sit over night. I’m about to go mix them in with some plain Greek yogurt and almond slices. The strawberries took about 5 minutes last night and mixing it together will take another 60 seconds or so.
When I have that for a late night snack I add shaved dark chocolate too.

sheilathetank, I make an amazing breakfast shake with coffee, ice, protein powder, shake of cinnamon, banana, and almond butter. I can drink it in the car. It’s so good. Stupid question: Do you make the coffee the night before so it's cold when you add it? No, if there is some how leftover coffee from the day before, then I use it, but it’s usually hot coffee, and the ice makes it cold. If the coffee is cool, the texture comes out more like a milkshake, and if the coffee is hot, it’s more like a drink. It’s pretty utilitarian, so I’m not picky. I really just want to get it and go. It ends up to be about 400 calories and keeps me full until lunch. It tastes good and it’s portable, and that checks all of my personal boxes.

I never thought to add the powder to my coffee. This is genius and I'm trying it tomorrow. Agreed, this is brilliant. What kind of protein powder do you use? I use a chocolate whey protein. The brand I use is cytosport , but I am not brand loyal. I buy that brand because it’s the one they sell at Costco, so it’s the most economical option. If you’re dairy free, there are some pretty good vegan options out there, too. And Nelly used to make hers with vanilla protein powder and frozen mixed berries (I believe), and she said that was really good.

Responding since it’s based on my UO- I don’t hate them, I obviously can choose not to participate, but I am tired of them. I don’t like the showiness of it and the sending alerts to you when friends donate to someone else’s charity. Confession: this is based on my friend who had a birthday yesterday and invited people to dinner over the weekend + drinks yesterday to celebrate, as well as requests to donate to meet her donation goal of $411.

They can ask, but it's up to you as to whether or not you feel guilty. This reminds me of the south park episode that was along a similar vein.

I don’t like David Yurman jewelry. I think it’s incredibly over priced. They have some nice pieces, but for that price point I could think of other things to get. My friends are obsessed. I’ve seen knockoffs for under $20 that look identical.

I am not a fan of the Facebook birthday fundraisers. Yeah, I find them presumptuous. But at the same time they are a good way to get suckers to donate to causes people care about. So I am torn.

Breakfast is overrated. It takes too much effort to plan for a healthy breakfast. When I do, my stomach can’t even really deal with it. Apparently this is an UO according to the hospital staff. I’m totally down for coffee though! I feel like I’m living in Groundhog Day. Your doctors are telling you you need nutrients. Eat your breakfast.

I can only eat breakfast food at breakfast but can eat other food anytime. I often have leftover dinner for breakfast. As far as post partum, I want two giant stacks of pancakes cause I haven't had those in months.
